I Am Very Discouraged Right Now
I am very discouraged right now. My friends husband died yesterday, and we all expected God to heal him. I have never seen anyone healed, and have experianced many die with prayers for healing unanswered. I am struggling to believe now.
Moderator - God has three responses to healings: now, later or no. God never promised to heal everyone now.

There is NO prayer that goes unanswered,God answers all prayers in His Perfect Timing. When the Good Lord wants the person to go home to Him, that time is up here on earth, but that is not the end it is the begining of Eternity....and yes we do Mourn for that person and it's hard but God will see us through it all

I'm sure Susanna is long gone by now after this post in '05. However I will pose the question, how do we know we've never seen anyone healed? I firmy believe that God often heals before we even know anything is wrong!

My son and I are going to the National Chess Tournament tomorrow in Pittsburgh. He is rated # 3 out of 240 1st graders. It would be a miracle and a huge witness if he won the tournament. Also pray that the food allergies I have would cease. Thanks and God bless.

While there may be three answers (now, later, or no), if the only answer one ever hears is "no" (or "later", which never happens), one might reasonably come to believe that "no" is the only answer that one is ever going to get.

"But your wrongs are separating between you and your God, and your sins have hidden face from you, that he will not hear. Now we know that God hears not sinners: but if any person be a worshipper of God, and does his will, that person he hears. Wherefore by their fruits you all will know them."

Lisa_1st They professed their "Faith" in Him or a Statement of Faith in him(Scraps fr. table,The Cent.faith, Thief on Cross) Then he Healed/Saved them or family members, the blindman he told to go and Sin no more or a worse thing than before shall befall you.

I hope this helps on your path...

God's laws are not like man's laws. We think of prayer as payment in advance for God doing our bidding. It is not like that. We are completely helpless. Prayer shows a relationship. God does not have to do what we want. His will prevails. For some reason He wanted to take your friend's husband's spirit and end his life on earth. We should never question God's holy decision. He is the boss.
---frances008 on 5/5/08|
God hears every prayer that is prayed to Him.
In OT, prayers for healing were not answered before all of the law was satisfied.
In NT, Jesus Christ turned the Law upside down and overturned the traditions of men.
Jesus Christ healed many sinners first, then told them to go and sin no more. It upset the "Law abiding".
God listens to every prayer, even to those of sinners who cry out to Him. God still heals and listens to your prayer, even while you are yet a sinner.
---lisa on 5/5/08|
God uses healing of the sinner to turn the sinner towards Him forever.
Jesus healed even the sinners, they devoted the rest of their lives proclaiming God's goodness towards them and were willing to die for Jesus Christ.
That's what a prayer can do even for the sinner.
---lisa on 5/5/08|
You pray to God, He will listen to you.
He may even heal you immediately as a sinner, knowing that you are going to fall in love with His Son, Jesus, for the rest of your life.
He may heal you later, but God will listen to your prayer.
---lisa on 5/5/08|
God listens to every prayer and He answers them according to His will.
He knows our beginning from the end.
Don't be discouraged or angry.
God may heal the sinner to save the sinner.
God may heal the believer and God may heal the believer later for an even greater testimony of Who Jesus Christ is in your life. The end result is always good if you stay faithful to God.

I can understand your unbelief. If you are truly saved you will get your faith back. It's true God never promises anyone of healings. It's always "thy will be done". When it comes to salvation, you do not have to say, "thy will be done", because it is not God's will for anyone to die and go to hell. If you pray for money, it's "thy will be done". Because we know not God's will. When you Pray for spiritual strength that is God's will. Have a good day.

God is unblameable, and he heals on his terms. God does not listen nor affirm every voice that is directed at him, but he hears only particular prayers that are prayed. Many serve sin daily and they do not give God much time, nor even spend any time at all with him in a day, but then in return they want God to be quick to serve them when they need him. But of a truth I tell you, that a life of prayer does not work that way.

You and your friend etc. wanted God to do as you say do. This is not how God works. He answers to me,you and no one. Its all about Him and not Us! God makes the last decisions in our lives. Your friends' husband's time was up. We all have a time to leave this earth. Your anger is useless. God healed your friend's husband. He is out of his misery and pain. Death is form of healing. Are you a Christian? If not you need to receive Jesus today.

Susanna::We are Children and cannot understand Gods ways which are different to mans ways. You describe bewilderment.God always answers Genuine Prayers not in the way we expect that is why we say "Thy will be done on Earth as in Heaven." BE assured, Your Husbands friend has gone to a place of no more suffering .YOUR prayers have been answered You have to wait to pass through that door to see him again.God be with you do not despair or Doubt. Your name suggests a song of Happiness.

Those that are alive will be called to come up hither along with the dead in Christ on that Day.
They will neither taste the sting of Death or will there bodies be corrupted by decay.
And let's not try to limit God of being able to do Anything HE desires.

As a Christian, his life is not over. Your friend is missing her husband terribly, I'm sure, but if he was a believer in Jesus, he is now in a better place. I miss my mother still and it has been 18 months since her death, but I take comfort in knowing that she loved the Lord, he was her saviour and he died to give her eternal life.

You did exactly right, you prayed, you were expecting GOD to heal and now the situation is past. We are certain GOD did what was best in this situation( it would be impossible for GOD to do wrong )Healing is GOD'S buisness not ours our job is to do what you did. Thank GOD that you were able to know the man and to pray for him. ---mima 11/10/3005

Take heart always. It is appointed unto man once to die, so all must die. But there is healing we are all healed daily from many things that could cause our death if let to run a muck. I have seen healings even been healed thru prayer, I have seen death buried a child myself but God knows why hang on to that always. There is a reason to all things.

I prayed for years for my hearing to be restored, but it wasn't until I made the move to get away from certain things in my life that weren't pleasing to God. I can now hear in my left ear. But, if it's God will for us to be healed, we will be healed. If we was a born-again Christian, he is healed.

If he loved Jesus, he is enjoying the whole purpose for which he lived..a crown of life & living with the One he loved the most.. Jesus in Heaven. I lost my dear daddy 9yrs ago..I often ask Jesus to give him a"hug"for me when I am missing him so much! If we cast not away our confidence in the Almighty, then one day will be our turn to live forever!May God comfort you & your friend in this time of grief..May He Carry You & hold you..one day He has promised to wipe away all tears from our eyes!

God has His reasons. If the healing would glorify a sinful lifestyle, then He won't heal. (e.g. a heavy smoker with lung cancer). On the other hand, He sometimes takes the righteous for their own good. (see Isa 57:1,2)
---jerry6593 on 11/11/05|
Try looking at it this way: God gave him the ULTIMATE healing! He won't be in pain ever again! God's ways are higher than ours. Our thoughts are not his thoughts. Before bitterness gets a hold of your heart, ask the Lord to reveal his purposes to you or to give you the grace to accept the hardships of life. God bless.

So sorry to hear of yuor loss. Susanna.
Some will tell you that if you pray with full faith, your request will be answered.
But our prayers should always say "Your will Lord be done"
I lost my wife three years ago and was looked as askance by some who judgewd that we had not prayed properly.
But God DID answer our prayers, because He enabled my wife to go to be with Him witha smile on her face.

A man with leprosy ... said, "Lord, if you are willing you can make me clean." .... "I am willing," he said. (Matthew 8:2,3)
I believe God is always willing to heal. Base your faith only on God's Word, not on circumstances or things that have happened in the past. Not everything that happens is God's will. If it was, we'd all be living in the Garden of Eden or at the very least, no one would go to hell (2 Peter 3:9).
---DoryLory on 11/11/05|
We don't know the beginning from the end therefore it isn't our place to judge or try to figure out why some are healed and some are not. That's God's business, not ours. Our responsibility is to pray and believe ... to keep up the good fight of faith ... and let God look after His business.
Pray and ask God for a sense of understanding. He knows you're hurting, He'll help you.
---DoryLory on 11/11/05|
You were expecting physical healing and i'm sure you forgot the spiritual healing which is more important than the physical healing.Remember that if you born once, you die twice. But if you born twice, you die once. Those people might have got the spiritual healing and are now with the LORD.

i read where a saint prayed for one to be healed, and straightway the sick one died. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are God's ways higher than man's ways, and God's thoughts higher than man's thoughts. Now be comforted, if this husband was a christian then he is in a better place now, in the presence of Jesus and in the paradise of God. Be strong now, and know that the Lord your God is with you, and he will be with you even unto the end.
---Eloy on 11/11/05|
When it is time for us to go, we will go no matter how many prayers beg not to! God could have been saving them from a worse fate. Death is not the end, death is the beginning of a wonderful new life if one is right wlth God! Don't despair when a loved one is sick and dies, they are healed! They are just waiting for you to join them! No more suffering! We all have to die sometime! We will not die before our time! We go when it is time!

My dad passed on in october05,with high blood pressure, and a breast cancer patient passed on-after much prayer for healing BUT I have seen HIV related facial blisters disappear from a lady after a single prayer- yet my mom's healing for osteoathritis has been gradual-while my inherited one was healed instantly after prayers against generational curses. Thats tough moderator. How does one know for sure what God's answer is when your high on faith for Gods mercy. I lost my 36 yrs old sister to cancer on Jan 6, 2003 after months of prayer and trusting that the Lord would surely heal her. I told Him I won't go away from Him for this though I don't understand why he took her. Still don't.
Moderator - I think some answers were are not going to get until we get to glory. I agree this fallen world is a tough place.

When one studies the Character of God and learns about Him from scripture one comes to understand that all things work according to the counsel of His will and that all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord and that his Grace is sufficient to help us through difficult times especially when our faith is weak and we don't understand. read 2corinthians 12th chapter

Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24 tells that God heals, there is no if or no in there. God does take many home and He does heal many, I know I have been and there are sometimes that you just got to wait and beleive what His word says! Job said it best, tho God slay me yet shall I praise Him!

Sorry for that.Sometimes God can not bear to see someone suffering and sends an angel of mercy to take this person to rest.
Be rest assured he is in heaven and if he did right he will not face the second judgement. No more pain nor suffering but hossana heaven.

Many years ago a 28 year old woman at my church had breast cancer, and was very sick. The elders annointed her with oil and prayed for her healing. She got worse and died within 3 weeks of that. Someone asked why God did not heal her. I replied, "He did heal her. She is in her glorified body, and is not suffering any longer."

God does heal: Exodus 15:26, "I am the LORD that healeth thee."Isaiah 53:5, James 5:15
We will all die: Hebrews 9:27, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" 1 Corinthians 15:53, "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."
Imagine if every one was healed all the time. How would we die?
---Bruce5656 on 11/10/05|
Perhaps God said no because it was time for this man to be with him. Sometimes God takes someone so they do not have to live in pain or disscomfort. I am in process of loosing my dad at the moment. But I know that if he dies tonight he will be with Jesus. I will miss him horrbly but, I know I can see him again someday and I also know that in heaven he will have a new body with no pain or problems and this makes me rejoice that he will be with God.
