but shall we continue to live in sin so that grace may abound,,no.
keeping away from the sin of adultery is about being spiritualy disciplined, we are all guilty of that sin called adultery, as long as you have ever looked at a woman or man lustfully.

I have from the spiritual sense, though never physically. This is one of the hardest, but it also shows that our thoughts can become the near occasion of sin. Hating your brother is a thought more than an action, yet Christ still calls it murder. It is important to reign in our thoughts and to avoid elements that can inspire damaging thoughts such as x-rated movings or books.

Yes, I have repented and try hard to avoid all sin, including adulterous thoughts.

Mima, I know personally that I have committed BOTH the mental adultery you are referring to as well as the physical adultery in my past before I was saved by God's marvelous grace. We have to realize that none of us are "actually" perfect while we are here on this earth in these corrupt bodies, but, are perfect in Christ if we have received His free gift of salvation.

we are all guilty of it..perhaps in fleshly adultery, the one who commits adultery didnt get any attention from the other..there is always a reason for doing so and there are 2 sides to everything...

Yes we are guilty of adultery. I know I am. The reason is, self satisfaction. Someone that we desire to have. Our desire should be for God and not for self. Christ takes our vision away from ourselves and puts it on Almighty God. I am sure many have commited the sin of adultery. Yet adultery as we define it against a spouse could be considered murder for one distroy's another persons life and even family through this act. Many never recover from the pain inflicted.

, you can't equate the two. lust is sin, but adultery causes far more damage. you don't whack someone over the head because you felt like it, right? we must restrain our urges.

Sometimes, we commit this sin unconsciously, but conscious or not it is still a sin and
we have confess the moment we realize that we have sinned. our God is faithful and just He'll forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
