Christians Getting The Boot

Are Christians getting the boot? Merry Christmas being taken away. The Ten Commandments taken out of courts and now ONE person is trying to get "In God we Trust " off our currency. If we don't stand up this could only lead to big time persecution for us and we will no longer have a voice.

I can remember when that O'hare devil had prayer taken out of school---single handedly. Everything changed after that.

Alan of uk::Good one ---But it could be reaffirmation, or an about turn to convert the then Local peasantry who couldn't read anyway. But the thought was well intended.
---Emcee on 6/25/07

The coin they showed Jesus had Ceasar's picture on it and there were no ten commandments in the temple. Maybe we've had it too easy and this would seperate the wheat from the chaff and we could see who would endure unto the end under a great persecution. It just might be long overdue and show some that there will be a great falling away as the kingdom of the beast is darkened.
---Frank on 6/25/07

This is a secular world in which we live . Our bodies are the temples of God so why do we need to reinforce our beliefs in a secular world? We should be inclusive of all cultures and beliefs and that means our secular World remains as such. We don't need secular reminders of such things as we are only here on Earth on a temporary basis while awaiting the coming of our Lord and our ascendency to Heaven. As long as God is in our Life ,He will be our Voice!

The phrase does not appear on UK money ... Guesswe must all still be heathens!
---alan8869_of_UK on 12/27/05

You've got to stand for something or you will fall for anything..The Ten Commandments, Yes. That's Biblical. Merry Christmas, God?money..No NO No. That's not in the Bible!
---Lynn_Bedford77 on 12/27/05

The motto, "In God We Trust" did not appear on money until Congress passed the Coinage Act of February 12, 1873. It wasn't until 1956 that a Joint Resolution Congress declared IN GOD WE TRUST to be the national motto during the cold war. Thats when it started appearing on paper money.

Guess we were a bunch of heathens before that.
---NurseRobert on 12/27/05

Question - Is "In God We Trust" on currency in other countries?

Seems to me that this is more of an American tradition then a statement of belief.

The 10 commandments are basically an expression of our Judeo-Christian hertiage and are more in line with our tradition than anything else. I rather doubt that a pagan or heathen that reads them is going to fall down and become a worshiper of Jesus Christ. So what usefulness do they really have save in our traditional heritage?
---lee on 12/26/05

The day we celebrate the birth of Christ is Not in the Bible, but the 10 commandments are. Money (Federal Reserve Notes)are based on the full faith and credit of the people who trust in the Federal Reserve, not God. If you are going to stand for something, Make sure it is of God not Man.
---Lynn_Bedford77 on 12/26/05

This is good healty and productive communications between us, but now we all should do something about it. Yes, there are agencies and congressmen we can write. Those of us who have not done this yet are a voice yet to be heard. Let's all do it to His glory!
---Rick on 11/23/05

It's not a waste of time Madison. It's proven, It got more than one Christian fired up. Praise God!
---John on 11/23/05

Madison, I don't think anyone is wasting anyone's time by posting how they feel about the persecution of Christians in countries which were once predominently Christian. We are sharing our views on this subject just as we do on all other subjects. I'm sure many of us are doing what we can by writing to our Member of Parliament, School Governors etc. as well.

Alan & M.P.::England is a land of protesting,But democracy still exists all you need is a dedicated Leader.the present one is to politically Soft. You need some one with an Iron hand Unity is strength, people can still muster the troops .There will always be an England.
---Emcee on 11/22/05

American Christians have it very easy. If you don't like something about the government decisions being made that negatively impact you, don't post it here. Call your congressman. Call your state legislator. Call your mayor. Call your school board. Complaining here is a waste of time. Do something.
---Madison on 11/22/05

What bothers me is kids that grow up in physical and spiritual poverty with no father and nobody taking the Gospel of Christ to them where they live. What bothers me is knowing that there are women in some countries who cannot have a job or get an education because they are both women and believers.
---Madison on 11/22/05

What your forgetting is that this great nation that God gave us was based on Christian principels and now they are being taken away. If you are a true Christian than this should bother you.

Madison ... waht would you say if yuor child was obliged at school to be taught about Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist religion and to take part in their festivals, yet the school not to be allowed to teach Christinity nor have Christian services?
---alan8869_of_UK on 11/22/05

No it is not the governments job to make being a Christian easy; nor is it their job to make any other religion easy at the expense of Christianity. We either live in a secular society or we don't (or that's how it should be, but some governments want it both ways. They want to show the world how tolerant they are to all religions (except Christianity). This is what persecution is and we know it will get worse but we don't have to just sit around and wait for it to happen.
---emg on 11/22/05

What do people want? It appears that people want Christianity to be legislated. We are in spiritual warfare people. It's not supposed to be easy to be a Christian. Instead of whining about the laws of the land, we should be on our knees crying out to God for changed hearts of the people we meet. Look at the Christians in China and Eastern Europe, and North Africa. Making it easier to be a Christian is not the job of any government.

2. No appearance of Christmas at all is allowed in some 'for fear of offending those of other faiths'. And so it goes on, in offices, banks etc. My own town has decided to call the Christmas lights 'winter' lights along with many other towns this year, again 'for fear of offending those of other faiths' who, by the way, are all allowed to celebrate whatever they want whenever they want and OUR school children expected to take part regardless of whether it might offend THEM or US.

Nurse Robert. I am in the U.K. and what Alan and I have been saying is what is going on over here. The Gideons provide a free bible for every hospital bed. It is now suggested that they should be removed for reason I have stated. We have many charity shops in U.K. The majority now are not allowed to sell any Christmas cards that are remotely 'religious' and some are not allowed to sell any Christmas cards at all or decorate the shops.
---M.A. on 11/22/05

Having Christian symbols and Bible removed from public display or waiting rooms is not a violation of anyone's rights. It is just a sign of the times, which scripture says will happen.
---Madison on 11/21/05

Alan, Im glad you're not in need of a creamatorium!! I think that Christians will always find a way to celebrate thier faith, regardless of what the government does.
---NurseRobert on 11/21/05

Nurse Robert ... I am not in need of a crematorium, I was jusy giving this as example of the official authorities taking away Christianity. ((Crematoria are run by the local government authorities, not private companies)You will have seen another entry about Bibles being removed from hospitals, in case they "offend" other faiths.
This is not anbout loss of MY rights, it is about the loss of the rights of the Christians in this country to celebrate their faith.

MA.. what hospital is that?
---NurseRobert on 11/21/05

Alan, I certainly know how you feel, but is this the ONLY crematorium chapel around? You have the right to go somewhere else. I dont want to seem argumentative, but I still don't see how this affects your rights.
---NurseRobert on 11/21/05

Nurse Robert ... the removal of the cross from the chapel along with any other Christian symbol makes it a secular place ... not where I would want to havce a funeral service
---alan8869_of_UK on 11/21/05

Alan.. I'm assuming that you are living in the UK. I dont know much about the laws there but here in the US, I have consistantly said Merry Christmas. I will continue to do so. I don't know why the Cross was removed, but how is that affecting your rights?

Nurse Robert, in addition to what Alan has said, there is even talk of removing bibles from hospital wards. This is being done under the pretence that there is a risk of infection from them but there has been no mention of patients not being able to take in their own books, magazines or buy newspapers, all of which can be handed around and infections spread by them - and what about the clothes that people are wearing when they arrive and those worn by visitors? I suppose they are all totally sterile!!!
---M.A. on 11/21/05

Nurse Robert. In some offices, the sending of Christamsd cards between staff has been banned, The cross has been removed from a crematorum chapel.
That's just two things here
---alan8869_of_UK on 11/20/05

Ok, an honest question. Can someone tell me which right of yours has been taken away? Do we really want the government run by a theocracy?
---NurseRobert on 11/20/05

Yes indeed Christians are "getting the boot". All that you mention is evidence of this. We who love the Lord will pay a HUGE price if we do not write to our political leaders, offer much prayer for national revival and speak up when we run into false accusations and misinformation. There is nothing so defeating than "good people who say nothing". Do we want history to repeat itself?

It's sad to say but true, Christians are getting the boot! Bit by bit society is taking away evidance of God. They feel that they have a better way and God isn't needed anymore. You would think that after 911 that people would be drawn closer to God and it looked that way for awhile but it didn't last long. This is partially OUR fault, because we sit by the sidelines and let it happen. WE should be influencung society, not the other way. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to all!
---Eli on 11/20/05

TWO. In contrast, anyone in school who was a Jehovah's witness or a Muslim etc. was simply allowed not to take part in anything that offended their religious beliefs - no questions asked - because that is written into the Education Act here in the United Kingdom. No such special treatment for Christians though because everyone assumes this is a Christian country so there should be nothing that we need special treatment for. We have to take a stand.
---emg on 11/20/05

ONE. Persecution of Christians has been going on in subtle ways for years. My kids were singled out over 20 years ago for being the only children in school who did not believe in Santa Clause, were not allowed to take part in halloween festivities and for not attending one or two things that the head teacher arranged for the school to do on Sundays. The tactic was intimidation. "Stand on your seat (during school assembly) anyone who will not be attending......." and so on. It was a hard time.
---emg on 11/20/05

Sometimes people are stupid. I don't say this to be mean, but they are taking our freedoms away right under our nose. They take away the Ten commandments and we say "That's awful". They undermine Christian influences and we do nothing. Others say "Don't worry about it, we will continue to be good examples and preach the Gospel, that's what's important". Well HELLO this is a prelude to worse and terrible things! Don't complain when the real persecution comes because we let it happen.

First step is taking "In God we trust" off of money. believe it or not, but when I was a child this saying on money made me think that I should trust God. It's as simple as that. IT actually planted that seed in my mind and then it carried over into my heart. What is next, taking away the privilage of preaching the Gospel?
---Judy on 11/19/05

When you consider that the prince of this world is Satan, of course it is going to demand that God be removed from society. Instead of trying to force that God be put back in through government means, we should be trying to change hearts and lives by sharing the Gospel of Christ with individuals.
---Madison on 11/19/05

Merry Christmas a bit early to you, Mary. One fun thing to do is find a radio in a store tune it to Christian radio and turn it up. Plant seeds, wear Christian t-shirts. We'll start a revival right here! Instead of saying "have a nice day", say "have a blessed day", seed planted.
---Nellah on 11/19/05

They are trying to take Christmas away but the retailers may suffer. The world is upside down compared to the Kingdom of God. What's next? Will they try and take away our children? Their aleady working on their souls. Maybe that's how they do it, little by little, chipping away at the good that's left in the world.

First of all, I understand about the 10 commandments, but as far as currency, money, this world itself is the devils & we should focus on the kingdom of God, not part of this world. We should keep ministering unto others & be happy when we are part of Gods knigdom. Point is, no they shouldn't tkae certain rights away, but as lnog as we preach the gospel they cannot remove God from us in ourselves.

This is so true Natasah! I'm in tears right now and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I just got done seeing a 700 Club show and I know that I know that God is in it! Pat is definately a man of God! They may try to take Merry Christmas out of the season but they can't take it out of our hearts. The persecution is part of the deal, but praise to our heavenly father, for he will always be with us!
---John on 11/18/05

Bibles have been taken out of our hospitals and bible study no longer exists in our schools (South Africa). But yesterday i was at a state hospital for an operation and someone nearby was blaring gospel music the whole day. It was fantastic! :)I believe the world can do all they want to take Christ out of the world but no one can take Christ from your heart!
---natasha on 11/18/05

Amen sister Nellah! now you've got me fired up! When I first got saved you couldn't stop me. I was out there talking about Jesus and how he changed my life and how He could change others. I am making a concience effort to be heard on behalf of God's Kingdom. We have to change the world, not the world change the way we live! I know it's a little early but, Merry christmas!

Yes. This is one of the things that will happen before Jesus Christ returns. We will be hated because we follow and love Jesus. No voice? I still have my voice and will not be quieted when it comes to my Savior. Spiritual Mother used to get me to do things because of my boldness. I will always stand up for Jesus Christ. Look what He did for us!
---Nellah on 11/17/05

John is right. When we get the boot so does God. I love this country that God gave us. A lot of people died for us to have the freedoms that we are intitled to. Now this antichristian attitude is taking those very freedoms away! We have to pray of course but WE also have to do something. Our forfathers did.
---Marie on 11/17/05

I believe the answer to this dilema will only be found on our knees.

"IF MY people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)
---DoryLory on 11/17/05

Let's discuss this but let's not just do that. We have to take an active part in fighting this. Or as you young people say we must be " Proactive". I have known God a long time, but I regret to say that even though I witness, I have not really got involved in this kind of fight. I will make a point to change. There are congressmen and officials that we can contact.

They are changing our future. It's our responsibility to try and change it back. I can't believe a Christian could be against doing nothing. I don't preach. Our men have to stand up!

Another sad sign of a great nation on the decline. This nation was founded by believers and for the glory of God.That is why America has had a special place in the world. But since Jesus is being booted out of the Nation, the end is nigh. With the war on terror and the many dangers that America and the world is facing, instead of clinging to God the opposite is being done.
---pkay on 11/17/05

Aparantly Norman doesn't get it. We as believers must fight this. We have laid back to long. I say enough! Even if they take in God we trust off of money, you might say big deal, I know God and I love Him. The problem is and IT IS, these malfactors are never satisfied. They will try and take more and more, and guess what, we won't be the same Country anymore. We will be them!
---Russell on 11/17/05

This really fires me up! This Country God gave us, is supposed to be a Nation where "The majority rules", yet we are at the mercy of minority rule with the help of our courts. This should not be. They are taking away our rights and freedoms little by little. this is how they do it. What's next, we won't be able to mention the name of God? How is Jesus to be preached?

Norman, Although I agree with some of what you say, I can't buy it altogether. In theory your not even right. It's a no brainer to know that if we take the Ten Commandments out of our courts than what do you think that will eventually lead to? It's already happened! I cannot stand here and let others take away our rights. These are the same people who want preaching of the Gospel forbidden. If we do not stand up for our freedoms, they will be taken away.
---John on 11/17/05

I do not think it is Christians getting the boot;but God and all that represents or reminds people of religion or god.No need to worry .God will have the final Say.We just need to stay true to him.
