Enjoy My Riddle #2

Riddle #2

Created before man,
I travel the world,
I had a soul,
But I lost it,
The Lord hath prepared me,
And spoken to me,
I have been compared to Pharaoh,
I cannot pray to God,
God has heard a prayer from me,
Even though I havent talked to Him?

It isn't Lucifer. He was an angel and angels don't have souls. I'm thinking, Mike!

The answer is "A whale".

Is there going to be another riddle soon? They are great

That's the only part of the riddle I can't understand. Where the whale is compared to Pharaoh. It was created before man, swims the oceans of the world, it had a soul but lost it (not its own...when Jonah was inside it), the Lord prepared the great fish to swallow Jonah, and even though it can't pray or talk to God, God heard Jonah's prayer from inside it. But the Pharaoh part has me stumped.

can you tell me where we read about this? God hearing a prayer? compared to pharaoh etc :) thanks
---natasha on 11/23/05

You must be referring to the whale that swallowed Jonah(the soul that he had)?

Thank you do you have anymore

I believe that your riddle is talking about Satan.

Good argument, wrong answer though. Keep trying.

My guess is Lucifer too. The soul is the mind, will, and emotions. Isaiah 14:13,14 expresses Lucifer's free will, conscience, thinking ability, emotions, etc., in the five "I wills" of Lucifer (Satan).

"For thou hast said in thine heart, I WILL ascend into heaven, I WILL exalt my throne above the stars of God: I WILL sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north. "I WILL ascend above the heights of the clouds; I WILL be like the most high."

based on: created before man (in line one) and I can not pray to God (in line eight) answer: the Devil
---Diana on 11/22/05

The answer is Lucifer because, he was created before man was created. He is the most beautiful angel of all the angels, and have the highest rank . Unfortunately, the 4th stanza says that he lost his soul, meaning the spirit of God is already not on him for he rebelled against God, so he was being punished and God threw him from heaven.Like the pharaoh where Moses asked to let the people of Israel go, but pharaoh refused-he has his sin which is pride. Even Lucifer, his terrible sin is pride.

Can't be Lucifer... When did he ever have a soul? When did God hear a 'prayer' from Lucifer (Satan)? He talked to God in Job.
