Not all "chance" games are necessarily evil. After the death of Judas, the Apostles did not ask a prophet who should replace him - they cast lots (like rolling dice).

Like all things, it depends on the motivation and the fruits. (A hand of gin or euchre can be fun. Gambling your house away at the poker table is a BAD thing. A glass of wine can settle an upset stomach. Drowning your sorrows in an alcoholic stupor until you lose your job and family is a BAD thing.)

I remember, years ago when I was very young, having a record called "Deck of Cards". It's about a young man who brings out a deck of cards during church. People react negatively to him doing that, until he explains that he doesn't have a Bible, and the cards remind him of spiritual things. Can't remember what they are. I'd like to hear it again sometime.

Ask 100 people something and you will get 10 differnt answers. Nothing is anti anything excpet as it is wielded by people. If you are not convicted, then to you it's not a bad thing. Yet, don't let it get inbetween you and another believer either.

Not really! A person can read anti-christian into almost anything they want - but this doesn't make it true. (A number of times I've received notices that the symbol used by Proctor and Gamble is aniti-christian - but there I've never seen any proff of this. Of course, you could state anything not Christian is anti-christian.

Cont'd. 10 Commandments, King - God, Queen - Mary, Jack (Knave) - Satan, 52 cards - 52 weeks in a year, 4 suits 4 weeks in a month, 365 spots on all the cards - 365 days in a year. I know I've missed a couple of things out but hope this all helps. The point being that the young man (a soldier) could use his deck of cards to help him remember these things in the absence of a bible.

I play 'Snap' with a deck of cards, others become addicted to gambling by using a deck of cards. It's all in the usage, not the object. The song you refer to Cam mentions their being 1 God 2, Testaments, 3 - The Trinity 4 Gospels, 5 wise and 5 foolish virgins, 6 days of creation, 7th day for rest, 8 saved from the flood, 9 lepers didn't thank Jesus for healing,

1st John4:1-4 Tells us to test the spirits. This implies the spirits that ether dwells within us or speaks to us.These spirits cannot acomplish satans works unless there is a person in whom the spirits can indwell. It is the spirit of supperstition or false magic that births this misconception. As for christians we need not to worry about this subject according to v.4 "You dear childern, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"

I once had a pamphlet which described where cards came from. Basically they where evil and not at all spiritual but rather of the devil. There is only ONE king and that is the LORD GOD. Look at what cards represent, gambling, betting, etc. They are played in bars and by non-christians. This should tell you something. If they where spiritual would the world be using them???? NO! They are evil.
