A sin is a sin is a sin. A rose by any other name is still a rose. Sin is sin, whether you tell a little white lie or go out and kill someone. As Christians, we should always strive to do what's right in every situation. You might not be a "bad" person, but those who are are still offered God's forgiveness and grace when they ask for it with sincerity. We are all equal in God's eyes and He is not respector of people.

God bless.

This is because many people confuse law-breaking and sin. If they have committed no crime they feel they have a right to go to heaven. People do not like the word sin and sadly many churches now avoid using it. However, until we accept that we are sinners we can never understand that we need a saviour and can never grasp what Jesus did for us or WHY. We need to pray that people will be convicted of their sins, not prideful because they have broken no laws.

Cont...The self righteous one left the church full of himself yet will be humiliated in the presence of Jesus. However the other was humbled in His presence & justified. Whosoever will not receive the kingdom of God with humility, sincerity, trust & dependency will not enter. When asked why should you enter, either respond "I trust in His salvation" or remain silent.

Two men went into church to pray; one was very religious and & other was despised as "worldly". The religious one stood near the pulpit and prayed with himself, God I thank you that I am not like other men, they are murderers, unjust, adulterers, & worldly like this man behind me. For I keep all the law in righteousness. The one looked down upon & despised by the self righteous stood in the back of the church with his head down & cried. Saying God be merciful unto me for I am a sinner. Cont..

Salvation cannot be earned. Yet, we have earned death. In essence, every person is condemned before birth, & is born residing in God's spiritual 'death row'.

Condemned prisoners must have their executions commuted. They cannot earn or bargain their way out of execution.

Jesus purchased the freedom of those chosen, elected & called of our Father. Men have no input into their salvation (Eph 2:8). God alone chooses whom He will save & condemn (Jn 6:44, 65).

The old 4 Spiritual Laws pamphlet had an interesting illustration. I've used the idea often when witnessing. The picture shows a guy trying to jump across a deep chasm. He runs, jumps, but only makes it about half way. Another guy tries. Same thing...runs hard, jumps a long distance, but falls short by just inches. Which jumper made it to the other side? Neither. Whose crumpled body will you find at the bottom of the ravine? Both. But what if Jesus made of himself, a bridge? You take it from there..

Sin is sin, big or little. That is why we ought to always pray, and ask for forgiveness for both deeds and thoughts.

My comment to people who really do think they have no sin is that all of us have told a lie. Every child lies and no-one is exempt from that. Ask a child who took the lollie and he will always say that "he did".

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point , he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

All disobedience is rebellion to God's commandments, especially the greatest commandment.

Mt 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

The levels or degrees of sin we refer to are often man-made. Sin is sin and Jesus died to save the petty thief and the murderer. Christians understand this but non-Christians - even the regular church going non-Christians - do not. We must take every opportunity offered us to speak of why Jesus had to die to save us, regardless of the 'degree' of sin in the individual's life.

, there are levels of sin, but whether one is saved or not is the real issue. the worst sinner who believes in Jesus and turns from sin will get to heaven. pious people who are too proud to need Jesus won't get to heaven.

There are clearly gradations if sin. It would be simplistic not to understand that, and context is everything. I believe the redemption of Christ covers sinfulness.

One must not confuse 'breaking civil law' and sin. Sometimes it is a sin to support an immoral law. The founding of America, civil rights movement, etc, all involved breaking the law.

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us..."
