144,000>>Sealed from every tribe of the Sons of Israel. The seal of the living God is what set them apart.Includes A special impartation of the Holy Spirit for their specific service for God. The seal is essential to their ministry. [not all Israel] for God would not place His seal upon unbelievers for service for Him. These redeemed ones will depend on help from the Holy Spirit. Yes!

God will not take any believers out of this earth. Period.
---Adam on 10/14/07

Ann you are correct except in one little area. These 144,000 will accept Christ after the Rapture. They won't be left behind. They will understand after seeing the results of the Rapture and get Saved. That is probably what you meant anyway.
---Elder on 10/12/07

Jana 144,000 is not symbolic. The word "and" adds the great multitude to the 144,000. After the 144,000 John saw this great multitude also, Rev 7:4-9
The 144,000 are male born virgin Jews that preach the Gospel during the Great Tribulation right after the two witnesses appear.
The 144,00 is different than the great multitude.
---Elder on 3/29/07

Does no one read the bible any more on here. The 144,000 are represented by 12,000 high priests from each of the twelve tribes of Israel. They are ordained to administer the gospel to every nation kindred and tongue and bring as many people to Jesus Christ as they can in the Last Days.
---Ashley on 3/28/07

The 144,000 is only a symbolic on in this text where it says and I heard a multitude...not 144,000 but a multitude..I belive these are all the believers dead or alive who will be raptured at the next coming of the Lord...
---jana on 3/28/07

Second, Every time there was a catastrophe, Godly men and women were not raptured, but were protected by God. Noah and his family, David and his friends, the Israelites during the plagues, etc. The Christians during the tribulation period will be protected the same way by the mark of God. All humanity is in the same boat and will experience the same thing, but Christians are protected.
---Steveng on 3/27/07

Third, There is only One Judgement Day, not two. If people are raptured, judgement has been pronounced, because the Christians were taken and the evil people left on Earth. But it is written that both the tares and the wheat will be harvested at the same time.
---Steveng on 3/27/07

Forth, There are only two resurrections, not three. If thee was a pre-trib rapture, there would be three resurrections - one at the beginning of the tribulation period, one at the end of the tribulation (to bring up the Christians and converted ones), and one at the end of the thousand year period. It's written that bessed are those who rise during the first resurrection.
---Steveng on 3/27/07

Fifth, Why have a tribulation? If the Christians were taken up and the evil left on earth? Many Christians believe that they would rise before the tribulation to escape Gods wrath. But why would the dead be taken? The dead can't feel the wrath of God on Earth because theyre dead?
---Steveng on 3/27/07

Sixth, how can you Christians be so vain to think you are more special than the Christians and Godly people who died in all of history in the name of God/Jesus. Don't be afraid about what is about to happen during these end times for God promised to protect you from his wrath. Persecution, on the other hand, is what we will face. Are you willing to die for Jesus like all the other Godly people and Christians in the past? Now is the time to stregnthen your relationship with God.
---Steveng on 3/27/07

So, forget about this rapture thing, about the age of the universe, about knowing how the Earth began, or when it will end, about dinosaurs, about "Whose on first, What's on second and I-don't-know's on third." Teach the Gospel that Jesus taught - the Gospel of the soon to come Kingdom of God and how to get there. Go out into the world and spread the Gospel. For the harvest is plenty, but the workers are few.
---Steveng on 3/27/07

This is a frivolous debate. But if you must, let's reason this out.

First, there is nothing new under the sun. No one in history was ever raptured. Jesus himself said no one has acsended into heaven. Neither Moses or Elijah will be the witnesses. God even says that he buried Moses on a mountain top. I suggest reading a phrase dictionary telling the many ways to say that a person kicked the bucket, bit the dust, he flew on the wings of the wind to the happy hunting ground, etc.
---Steveng on 3/27/07

They are 144,000 male virgins, Jewish in origin, 12,000 from each of the the 12 tribes of Israel, who believe in Christ as the Messiah. They are set apart, and will be left behind after the Rapture to try to reach those who did not believe, and win them for Christ before it is too late for them. The Holy Spirit will come upon them as needed.

Moses and Elijah. (The Law and the prophets.) The two wittnesses. And the old testament saints martyered, and those faithful servents in 70AD. during the destruction of jerusalem and the Temple.

eliza4969 all Christians will have "tribulations" along with everyone else. Matt 24 & 25 are not speaking of tribulations but of the Great Tribulation. The Great Tribulation is the wrath of God being revealed and turned loose on the unbelieving world. Christians will not be here for that.

'At the blink of an eye we will all be changed.' There is the 7000 who have not bowed their knee to Baal. The Greek words for numerals were shapes (Pythagorean); 144 Thousand may be a certain shape of a DNA strand.

In Messias/Christ's second coming, He will 1st "Passover" planet earth, just as He did in Egypt [world] before the Exodus Exod.12:1-(32)36; I Thess.4:13-18, II Thess.2:1-17, Jude 12-19, sparing His chosen His wrath. Moses led them to their promised land, Joshua/Jesus [same meaning] led them UP into their promised land. When Christ sets foot on The Mt Of Olives in Jerusalem, that will be His physical 2nd return! Matt.25:1-13 adds much insight into Messias'/Christ's return to earth! Maranatha!

elder. God has said we will have tribulations but has promised to keep us from judgement and his wrath. read matthew 24 again! we will be here through the tribulation but not his wrath.
---eliza4969 on 12/11/05

No "Pretribulation Rapture" Davon? The same Words of Echad/God you believe refutes this event, confirms the same. Did Christ bear our judgement on Calvary for nought? Was Noah & family placed in an "Ark Of safety" before Echad/God judged the world by rain? Why did Echad's/God's Angels tell Lot & his family they could destroy nothing til they were safe [Lot should have went to the mountains as ordered (Gen.19:1-29), or Rahab of Jericho]. Where will you go if left behind?

The 144,000 (12,000 from the 12 tribes of Israel) will be marked and will witness and spread the word during the Tribulation. The Tribulation saints are those who get "left behind" and become born-again Christians during the Tribulation.
---Nellah on 12/8/05

eliza4969 Throughout the Bible God has always removed His people out of danger before the Judgement falls.
Matt 24 is about the Great Tribulation and Tribulation Saints and the Second Coming of Christ.
Matt 24 speaks of enduring until the end. NT Christians are in the age of Grace not endurance.
---Elder on 12/8/05

we will go through part of the tribulation there is no scripture for pretrib rapture. jesus warned us you can read it in the book of matthew chapter 24.why would jesus come twice, because he won't. all will see him when he returns the saints will go with him then judgement will fall on who is left.
---eliza4969 on 12/8/05

DaVon the problem with your theory is there are more than 144,000 saved already. Next read Ann's ID of these people you will not see women involved. This issue has been blogged to death in other blogs already also.

You're right, Elder..I believe it's through the teaching of the 2 witnesses that the 144,000 come to believe.
---Ann5758 on 12/8/05

The Tribulation saints are the same saints, at least the authentic ones, who right now mistakenly think they will be raptured and spared the tribulation. Those are the tribulation saints, the sameones wondering who are the tribulation saints! I have seen no proof of a pre-tribulation raptured church!
