Can I Destroy His Reputation

My ex-fiancee verbally and physically abused me. He owes me 3000 USD and refused to pay back. I plan writing to his collegues and professors to let them know what he did (He is thought to be a good scientist) Why God let him get away with it and I suffer? Can I revenge by harming his reputation?

What do you do when it's a Bishop who has waged a vengence against you and slandered your name, and preach about it over the pulpit?
---Terry0410 on 4/20/08

God will take care of it....
Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Romans 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. What good would such action as you suggest do to improve your situation? If your aim is to get your money back, go about it decently and legally. Don't stoop to anyone else's low level of behaviour. You have your conscience to live with, keep it a clear one.

What Jesus did for you in redemption is greater than anything anyone could ever do to you. You will never be at rest trying to exact enough flesh out of him because you will be trying to do what God in Christ has already done. One can only rest when he/she comes to the realization that God is completely satisfied with not only the judgment He exacted upon humanity in Christ but also the justice exacted when He seated Christ in the throne.

You have been given the word and the ministry of reconciliation. Do you believe this? If so, be reconciled to God and let His reconciliation be expressed through you to the ex-fiancee.

Every minute of anger steals a moment of happiness.

You suffer cause you allow him to still have control over your feelings. Forgive him not for his sake but your own. And if you can't forgive now pray that God helps you to forgive. Letting vengence and anger reside in you hurts you a lot more than it will ever hurt him.

Johnny, anger may come.

The word is clear. If we do not forgive others we will not be forgiven. The Lord said "vengeance is mine.." It's hard to pass up temptation to avenge when oportunity arises but it's better to forgive as commanded and pass up oportunity to avenge, than to stand at the judgement seat of Christ unforgiven. Katherine.

When you don't forgive, the only person hurting is yourself. By writing letters, the only person who's reputation will be hurt is yours. Keep your business just that, your business and pray instead of being revengeful.

Why not just forgive him, pray for him, ask GOD to save him?---mima12/30/2005

Marianna, My ex-husband took all of our money, I lost my home and everything I owned. He decided to leave with another woman after 27 years of marriage. God allowed him to have a massive heart attack, new wife is abusive, and he's a drunk again. I'd never thought of anything like He did. Leave it up to God...he'll handle it. And, I recently married a fine, Christian man. Praise God!!

Marianna, in the U.S. if you write letters to defame anyone you will libel yourself and can be sued by them.
If you are concerned about money then sue him in court. Write HIM a certified letter as to your intent and give him time to pay. If he doesn't then proceed.
Protect yourself first and don't be known as an angry rejected fanatic chasing a man. This is what he will say.
Be kind, sweet, professional and firm in recovering your monetary loss. Display the Love of Christ in all other matters.
