What Is God's Will For Me
The bible says in 1 John 5:14-15 that if we ask according to His will, He hears us. How do we ask according to God's will? How do we know God's will so we can be sure our prayers are heard?

Looks like I was posting Larry. He got a taste of your non-witnessed truth. I only agreed with his conclusions.
Found this for you this morning....when I read it...it was a match.
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19And it shall come to pass, that whosoever WILL NOT hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

Trav, you said,
"Markv, .....You feel attacked because Truth exposes LIES"
You are so right, the reason I'm attack by you. I expose the Truth and you get angry. To the point of keeping taps on me even collecting everything I write down from Scripture, and what I say, instead of studying the Bible so that you can speak for God, no you spend your time trying to find fault in what I say, Great, maybe that way you might learn something. I didn't even respond to you once on this blog and there you were. If you try changing your purpose, the Holy Spirit might reveal Truth to you.

Markv, .....You feel attacked because Truth exposes LIES.
You're not a leader Markv, you're a troublemaker, worse that a catty woman.

Nice work. Truth does expose.
One recurring pit push word ploys is "teach me what you know". The reward is: so I can turn on you. But,never with with scripture that witnesses scripture. Always and only with long opinion and select fragment/pieces of scripture. Sometimes with copy/paste commentary by some doctr.
Curious about the pattern, I started a word doc file of: "you are wrong", statements by meow5 for pattern study count.
Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

It simply means, bold confidence toward God.

Fay, there is no way that you can verify that every time Jesus escaped alone to pray that that was the only time. In fact, I will contend that when Jesus prayed ALONE in the Garden, it is the HS teaching us what Jesus prays when he is alone. Else if an apostle (without prompting of the HS) wrote the account of this prayer including the prayer, than Jesus was NOT ALONE and the scripture lies. Remember, the disciples were asleep (at least we know that Peter and Zebedee's boys were).

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. [statement of acknowledgment, not a command]
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. [request, not a command]
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: [another request]
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. [statement of acknowledgment]

When Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemene he was not teaching his disciples how to pray. That was when he was praying alone, & it is the ONLY time he prayed "IF IT BE THY WILL" And that was because he knew it was NOT God's will. Every other prayer was a command, even what is known as "The Lord's Prayer". Read them carefully. Every prayer Jesus prayed was a command. That's how he taught us to pray.

If you pray according to the word of God there is no need to say "thy will be done".
---catherine on 5/21/10
"thy will be done" is the word of God. Jesus taught his Apostles to pray like this. When He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus, the son of God, the Word, prayed like that.
Yet, Catherine, says that we do not have to pray how God told us to.
Now, I know for sure why her husband is "reprobate."

Assurance of answered prayer: [confidence speaking out boldly]. However, in this context it means---"Joyous confidence" toward God. It can be seen as the opposite of shame.....He Hears you anyhow if you belong to Him. He hears the prayers of the righteous. Important to stay on the right side of God, because, sin can mess up one's prayer life, to the true living God. If you pray according to the word of God there is no need to say "thy will be done".
---catherine on 5/21/10|
Just to give you some food for thought, the only time Jesus ever prayed "If it be your will..." was when he knew what he wanted was not the will of God.
See Eccl. 12:13, to know His will.

Bible says is not God's will that any should perish. So if it is not God's will that any should perish then is God's will that all should come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore if you want to pray in God's will you can pray for someone's salvation!!! Pray about someone's salvation, about their coming to the Lord and you can rest assured you are heard by Almighty God!!!

"What Is God's Will For Me"
Micah 6:8: "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good, and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

There are several issues in the book of 1 2 and 3 st John.
One of them is hospitality, some of the people in that church was not hospitable.
One issue is the believe that christians do not have sin, or have the need to sek forgiveness in Jesus name.
Another issue was that some believed in God the father, but not Jesus.
Some did not believe that christians should keep the commandments.
All these issues adressed is 1st John is the will of God ( in this context) which we should do.

scripture says, to do all things in accordance with Him. to live a life pleasing to God. but, ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. God, asks. be in prayer ALWAYS in every decision we face. in the word daily, and counsell with elders. And we will walk in His will. There is not just one plan God has for you, there is another road, more decisions. More choices, allways seeking His will. His people wondered the desert 40 years They were taught to have faith for ONE day. God feed them mana just one day at a time. What did I do today, or in the last min. that was in Gods will. Lets focus on that and His will promises to fullfill our lives.

God's will is His Word. If you pray according to what the Bible says, then you are praying according to His will. Angels then attach themselves to His Word (to fulfill it), and that's when you see your prayers answered.

See Matthew 6:5-15. This tells you how to pray to God. It is the Lord's prayer, Jesus used it to give us an example of the structure of a prayer to The Father. Thank Him always first and always ask his will be done. Make sure you search your heart and know that what you are asking for is not just for self gratification. Remember God knows what is in the hearts of ALL mankind. As for God answering, That still, small voice that you here in your heart, that is God speaking. Go to your secret place in your heart and just wait(be patient)God always answers. God Bless!

The "Word of Faith movement" is wrong. The "Word of Faith movement" can not dictate what God must do and no one can call things that are not as though they were unless Almighty God decrees such to be so.
I believe our salvation was for two reasons, first that we might be saved from ourselves, and secondly that we might work to bring others into the kingdom.

It is the spirit that calls upon God and it is the Spirit he heareth, the words of men mean nothing to my Father, It is what comes from the Heart, not from the mouth's of man,
The tongue & mind of man is deceitful, But the Heart standeth strong in the way's of My Father...
His will is for you to watch and pray alway's, and gather whom you can for the marriage supper of the Lamb(Yahshua/Jesus)
The day's in which the prophets & I & others have longed & prayed for are upon us, turn not back when it comes upon us as Lot's wife did, keep your eye's upon the Heavens and your Hearts close to God...
Praise be to our God, for he is WORTHY of it!

The Word Faith movement says never pray and say "if it be thy (God's)will. The bible says we are to ask the Fathers will be done. How do we know what to ask for? Somtimes we don't and all we can do is gron with agony over something and God will hear our groaning and answer according to His will.

Blessings to all, By faith you believe that God hears your Prayers. When a child of God prays, not only do you make your request known to God, but as you ask, thank God for hearing you. As far as God's will for your life, take a step out in faith. If you are not doing God's will, you will know if you have your eyes focused on God. God Bless friend!

God's will for our lives will always line up with God's Word . We can learn God's nature and His ways in His relationships with other people in the Bible . God also only wants the best for His Children so we can know He is always working in our behalf when we pray . We have a build in censor , Jesus our intercessor ,for the Bible says He prays the Father on our behalf according to God's will .

IF it's in line with the word of God you don't even have to end it-- "Thy will be done". God is going to hear you, if your heart is right, and if there is not any unforgiven sin your life. After that, you have to wait on Him. If it's good for you, you will get it. If not you won't. Keep in mind, He may have something better for you.

The way we ask according to God's will is to include in our pleas the words: " let your will be done!"
The way we know God's will is by studying His Word daily and I would suggest one topic at a time.
The way we are sure about God's will is that He has promised to hear us and guides us safely along the way! P.
