The Bible is a collection of writings by many different authors, the Quran is a recitation. The speaker in the Quran - is God Almighty talking directly to man.

In the Bible you have many men writing about God and you have in some places the word of God speaking to men and still in other places you have some men simply writing about history or personal exchanges of information to one another. Eg. In the English King James Version consists of 66 small books.

Christianity stands alone. Islam and Christianity have absolutely nothing to connect one to the other. Islam is of the devil. Christianity is of God. Darkness and light do not mix.
---Helen_5378 on 8/20/07

Such a horrible mistatement. Islam is NOT about hate because of a few radical fundamental sects anymore than Christianity is about hate because of radical fundamentalist evangelicals. Islam is a beautiful faith like many others. I sure wouldnt want Christianity judged by the actions of fundamentalist christians who murder doctors who perform abortions and commit arson on the buildings. We need rational minds here folks.

Darlene 1...umm you had most of your statements right, make sure you can prove them...and no where does it say young men virgins for men or young men virgins for women...not sure where your getting that from but its not in qu'ran unless its in hadeith(sorry for spelling)
---mark_B. on 8/19/07

Nothing. Christianity's about a God of love who commands Thou shalt not Kill. Islam about a God of hate , orders all infidels/non Islamics be killed. Christianity-not to commit fornication. Islam promises endless virgins for fornication as a reward in Heaven, including young men for men. Christianity tells all, women included,to tell the Good News,Jesus saves. Islam binds women from freedom in many ways. The differences are almost endless. Christianity; light through Jesus. Decide the rest for yourself.

"There is absolutely no common ground between Islam and Christianity. Islam is a man-made religion of hatred. Christianity is founded and headed by Jesus Christ and is of love and forgiveness. Darkness and light have nothing in common...they are complete opposites."

Helen, I agree with you 100%!!!

The Children's book titles give me the creeps. I don't think kids at the age level those books appear to be, need THAT KIND of information.. They do not yet understand about loving the sinner, but hating the sin. They see enough frightening things on T.V. They need to learn that there are good people and bad people in every country and race but THEY, themselves, should treat ALL people with kindness. That lesson is difficult enough.
---Donna2277 on 10/30/06

Farah C. Church, I would not waste my time reading a book with a title such as the 2 you mentioned. I reserve the right to be as "judgmental" as the apostle John in 1John, where he says that anyone who says they love God and hates his brother is a liar.(paraphrased) We should be more interested in teaching children to love all people the way God loved us. That would go much further than teaching hate and fear.

Islam and Christianity: Same God (Gen 21 onward), different doctines. Islam celebrates death, Christianity celebrates life. The Arab people hates the Jews because of what happened 4,000 years ago.

Do yourself a favour, watch the documentary called Obsession, it will put your entire discussion into perspective.

Mike: Those who read peversions KNOW it is perverse; even the Muslims are against porn.

However it is their "holy book", Qu'ran, that tells them to hate Jews and Christians. Our Bible does not tell us to hate any people group because of their birth or religion.

Look at some quotes I posted earlier.

---mima on 2/19/06

Farah, sorry I didn't get back to you till now, but I`ve been unwell and not been checking all the postings.
I am by no means saying Christians are Nazis, I was refering to the books that were being quoted.
Who in the name of God can we reach a Muslim with the truth when we red filth that is a perversion?
---mike6553 on 2/19/06

I also have read and searched the Qu'ran. From where do you think I got that stuff? Strickly speaking, there is no context as there is in the Bible. Each Sura is discrete. If Randy looks at these suras, he will find ample evidence that the Qu'ran teaches hatred of Jews and Christians:[4.46], [4.160] ,[5.41] and [9.30] There are more like these.
---John_T on 2/16/06

John T. I believe what you wrote on Islam is correct. And I have not seen anything you have put down on Scripture to be out of context as Randy has stated. Maybe I missed something and would hope Randy can explain which ones.

Darlene these promises of the streets of gold still are attractive and for many in the world who still have nothing. Again, I don't believe that there are streets of gold in heaven but it is something amazing that we can't even begin to imagine it. John T., I have read the Quaran and you may take things out of context just like in the Bible.
---randy on 2/16/06

Darlene ... To some cultures, spices are the things of greatest value, so gold streets would not be all that important. Maybe they would be impressed by a prophecty of building made of priceless nutmeg? I think it is all metaphorical, to show what heaven will be like ... all beautiful and magnificent, the detail is not significent.
---alan8869_of_UK on 2/15/06

I don't think I care what the streets are made of. Will there be streets as we know them? If they ARE as we know them, they will will not be like those the early Christians knew. What will the homes be like ... appartments in skryscapers as some city dwellers know, wood, or corrugated iron as some Africans know or ... or ...?

Teachings from Islam:
A. Mohammad preached misogyny (hatred of women)
B. Muhammad practiced pedophilia via a child bride
C. Jewish people are enemies of Islam
D. Conversion from Islam means death:
E. Having pet dogs is a bad idea:
F. Each victim is blamed for his own murder:
G. Retaliate, do not forgive
H. Muslims cannot wear silk
---John_T on 2/15/06

Randy, if Rev promises Christian greed by promising streets of gold at least it does not urge Christians to kill others to get their "reward". You cannot compare the two religions at all. Islam is bringing terror into the world and if we're not careful, they'll take over the whole Globe.
---A_Catholic on 2/15/06

Randy, not true Revelations panders to greed,Christians could care less about gold in Heaven,no greed at all,we focus on the Spiritual aspect of getting to be with and see the one who saved our soul and lives, thats out reward Eternal Life with God. To be able to worship Him in His presence. Our reward is about being with our Savior,Lord God Almighty, not be a glutten for the things of the flesh. If any religion caters to the lust of the flesh they aren't worshiping the One True God Christians do.
---Darlene_1 on 2/15/06

Farah C. Church, It is very important that we do judge books by God's Word,His Way,and His Will to see if they can be called Christian before we let our children see them. I wasn't judging one person but what those people are teachng that is fear and hate, and anyone who does that are hate peddlers or mongers. Just fact. God wouldn't like it any better than I do. If a person, anyone, doesn't have love they don't have God 1John 4:7&8. It is a parents job to protect their children.

Elder, LOL I am not making an educated statement, I am just asking a question by tossing out a hypothetical statement. It is not something I believe. However, I presently live in an Islamic country and it is a point that Islamist would make. Like it or not Conservative Christianity has more in common with Islam than some would like to believe. We can start with the subjugation of women, the desire for an absolute theocracy, family values, etc.
---randy on 2/15/06

Where did j get the information to make such an "educated" statement? Randy the things men on earth would kill for is as dirt in Heaven. They even build roads out of it there.
The reason gold has a value on earth is because men have said so. You can't eat it. In the right place men would give all their gold for a drink of water.
The virgin issue is something Islam teaches.
By the way there is no such book in the Bible as Revelations for there is only one revelation revealed.
---Elder on 2/15/06

What a strange suggestion Randy. And what do you think we are going to do with that gold when we get there? Are we going to buy pick axes and dig up the streets and melt the gold down and barter with it? I don't think so somehow. Do you have similar thoughts about the jewels in the foundations also?
---M.P. on 2/15/06

If Islam panders to mens sexual desires by promising virgins in the here after, it could be said that Revelations panders to a Christians greed by promising streets of gold.

Brother Mike, I wasn't aware of your knowledge of the German language (as mentioned in your reference to "Der Sturm"). But, I would take offense to your nazi reference. Frankly, we get enough of that from our secular "friends". E.g.: Christians=nazis, Christians=racists, Christians=homophobes, and the like. You would also say that Brother Franklin Graham is race baiting by calling Mohammed a pedophile?
---Farah_C._Church on 2/13/06

I tried to find a copy on the Net, but the review is bad enough. It reminds me of Der Sturm from 3rd Reich.
Islam is a threat, and yes in the Islamic countries they will kill you for not being in the right relgion, but race hatred won't help either.
---mike6553 on 2/12/06

Sister Darlene, we shouldn't sit in judgement. That role is left to Someone else. Can you name Him?
---Farah_C._Church on 2/12/06

i'd like to marry a former islamic turned jewish believer. once i was in darkness like them(and like you all once were), then brought into G_d's Light, Yeshua, by Faith in His Name.
An islamic turned to truth is 1000 times more likely to be a virgin than a 'christian' is.
'christians'too often approve of sin that G_d hates.

Farah ,being a labor of love and charity doesn't mean a person is right. The worst results have come from the best intentions. Went to Internet to check them and frankly the people's sites who sell/endorse them, and what they said, is enough to make me sick at heart that evil like that is being used to seduce childen to hate and fear. Plainly, hate mongers. Because something/someone presents itself/themselves as Christian doesn't mean it is. The Titles are enough to show me they're not Christian works.
---Darlene_1 on 2/12/06

Brother Tommy, have you read any of the Christian children's books I mentioned before saying you dislike them? You should at least give fellow Christian authors a chance before denouncing what is most probably a labor-of-love and charity on their part.
---Farah_C._Church on 2/11/06

I agree with "most" of what has alrady been said on this subject. However, I DISAGREE with the books suggested previously "Manny the Murdering Muslim" and "Jesus, Will my Islamic playmate Butcher me to Death?" This is no way to teach children how to properly respond to the challenges of Islam.
---tommy3007 on 2/11/06

There can be nothing in common between a false religion and anti-Christ with christianity. This is the truth and biblical. totally agree with Darlene. Problem is, we try to be politically correct even by making comparisons. We know what Jesus said. He and absolutely He is the only way.

I think all Christians need to be concerned about the rising tide of Islamofacism. And being able to communicate this to our children at their level is certainly of paramount importance. Sister Marge Davis has written a couple of children books that do exactly that. Her titles "Manny the Murdering Muslim" and "Jesus, Will My Islamic Playmate Butcher Me to Death?" do precisely that. Just Google the titles to find read excerpts and Christian reviews of these works.
