When I was at school, we had teachers who were ALREADY old fossils. Some forty years later, we read of their retirement!

MMills, here's your same old question answered here.
---Kelly on 8/11/07

I knew that fossil. He used to teach Geometry in my old school.

To slcguy, Doesn't blow my theory. I'm waiting for Jesus whenever the father decides it's time for his return. I'm not sure you believe in anything. Are you an athiest?
---Thomas on 3/20/06

To slcguy, My faith does me fine without chasing after science. It's all about faith. Do you know about faith or do you always try to prove everything?
---Thomas on 3/15/06

Christians believe the Holy Scriptures and therefore don't care about the multitude of worldly controversies.

To slcguy, Fossils of man buried all over the world, if God allows this world to stand another 20,000 years and your bones are dug up, I wonder what they'll say about you.

Here we go again with another red herring!

The so-called age of Kman was never the question. Rather it was his characteristics.

Because this is another pinhole in the flimsy baloon of LDS theology, SLCguy is grasping at straws.

His fall-back is his "testimony", a firmly held belief that trumps facts that demonstrate the faulty premises upon which LDS theology is built.
---John_T on 3/14/06

Then you had better be ready to abanden the man-on-earth-only-6,000-year literalism......You can't use science when it serves your theological purposes, then ignore it when it does not..the same DNA confirms evolution! by the way, the study is limited to about 5% of Americans, as smallpox and the RCC reduced the native population by 65%

SLC uses a red herring argument stating some use science selectively in stead of dealing with the central issue:

It does NOT support the Mormon doctrine that native Americans are Jewish, nor does the Smithsonian, which SLC wisely chooses not to contest.
---John_T on 3/12/06

Kman is important to SLC because it allegedly supports the Mormon belief that Native Americans were Jews.
Originally, the lead scientist said he had "caucazoid" features, and Mormons jumped on this.

Last week's issue of Time had a big article on this, concluding that he was Asian, validating the Native American-Mongoloid connection.

In 1996, Smithsonian issued an official statement also validating NA-Mongoloid connection.

Moderator - I live in Texas and have traveled all through Latin American and anybody whom has eyes can see that the native people are of Asian background including the Mongolian birthmarks.
---John_T on 3/12/06

I read the TIME article last night. It solidly refutes biblical literalism, yet fundamentalist use it! unbelievable! one cannot use science when it supports their views, then reject it when it does not.

No, Kenniwick man is white man. Look it up on the web.

1. Scientist are NOT always objective, it goes against an extablished paradigm, so they want it hidden.

2. What is a white man, one of many doing in Washington state, and elsewhere? In Lovelock Nevada, Honduras (red Haired, bearded) etc.

Moderator - The native people in this part of the world are hispanic which looks mostly like Asians except for those that married into the conquering Europeans. Sounds like some scientist hasn't looked around at the local people.
---SLCGuy on 3/11/06

If anyone seriously wants to discuss this, look up 'Kenniwisk Man' on the web. It has some strong ramifications for science, and belief. Many anthropologist DO NOT want it studied, and there have been some intence court battles over this, proving the scientific commmunity is not always onjective; again, look it up on the web.

Moderator - What's the big deal about Kenniwisk Man to you? I see nothing that conflicts with Christianity or science unless I am not up-to-date. Isn't is about that the USA was populated with Asians prior to the Europeans. If so that is old information.
