Being born again means that Jesus has convicted a person of their sins and they know what they done wrong and ask for forgiveness and ask Jesus to come into their heart. Then and only then will a person become a new creature (person) in Christ Jesus.

When we come to God through faith, Jesus will send His Spirit to dwell in us. We have become a new creation. We are not our own. The old man is gone. We are saved...
Salvation is Christ in us. We have life.
By His life we are saved.

I believe this is a very good answer."Yes I do know what born again means. It is when the Holy Spirits stirs up your soul and you have an overwhelming feeling, your heart pounds and your hands are sweaty. You respond to that by asking God to forgive you and cleanse you and save you. He will. Then, you are a new creature."

To be born again is to be restored to lost awareness from above through a renewing of your mind by the direct divine inspiration of the Father. His Spirit renews, regenerates, and revives us through a revealed knowledge and understanding of His Word.

I was born again when God put His name on me at my baptism. He made me a believer.

See a book by Karl Keating "catholism and fundamentalism" for a great chapter on salvation and born again.

When the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary she concieved and Jesus was inside of her. the Holy spirit overshadows us and births in us a new spirit not like Adam but the same like spirit that was in Jesus and if that spirit be in you it will give life to your mortal body. Allthings become new old things will be pass away. can you see the kingdom? if your born again you will.

Quite simply, God sent his only Son to pay our sin debt, we could not do this ourselves. When we put our trust in what Christ did for us, The Holy Spirit seals us until the day of Redemption. Our spirit was dead because of the law, Because of Christ and putting our trust in Him, our spirit becomes alive again.

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour, believe He rose from the dead, we become new creatures. Our heart changes in so many ways. It's actually like being born again. We really are not the same anymore. Praise God!
---Nellah on 4/3/06

We were once dead to our sins, seperated from God. But with the blood of Jesus, we are made alive in Christ if we accept Him. We are made a new person. The old nature has passed away and we are a new person in Christ. We no longer live in sin, but in the light of Christ.

3. Regeneration is not to be confused with the full experience of conversion. Just as birth is our initiation, our first entrance into life outside the womb, so our spiritual rebirth is the starting point of our spiritual life. It occurs by God's divine initiative and is an act that is sovereign, immediate, and instantaneous. An awareness of our conversion may be gradual. Yet rebirth itself is instantaneous.

2. Regeneration is the work of the Holy Spirit upon those who are spiritually dead (Eph. 2:1-10). The Spirit recreates the human heart, quickening it from spiritual death to spiritual life. Regenerate people are new creations. Where formerly they had no disposition, inclination, or desire for the things of God, now they are deposed and inclinded toward God. In regeneration, God plants a desire for Himself in the human heart that otherwise would not be there.

Kathleen, in the theological field Born again is called, "regeneration". This term is used to describe rebirth. It refers to a new generating, a new genesis, a new beginning. It is more than "turning over a new leaf. It marks the beginning of a new life in a radically renewed person. Peter speaks of believers "having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever" (1 Peter 1:23).

Many people think that once a their saved, that is it. But there is more to it than that. There are alot of way to get closer to God, but many don't want to take a step of faith because for one they are afraid and two they don't understand how. Alot of people say they are saved but yet they bare no fruit. They claim to be a Chritian but do nothing for Christ.

The reason I asked the question: Jesus says being born again is like the wind moving the trees and afterward you can see the Kingdom of God. It is an experience by the Spirit to open ones eyes. I see many claiming this experience, But the tree is not moving and they do not acknowledge the kingdom of God according to the teachings of Christ. thanks for your input. K.W.

I agree with the answer Karin gave.

All of us are born once. Born in the flesh. Believing in and following the path Jesus asks us to will result in being born again. Putting off the old carnal person and taking on Christ. It is explained in the Bible in many ways. The path is also explained there. Every human has that opportunity but each one must take the steps themselves to follow Christ.

John3:3.Nicodemus asks this same question. Jesus replies "You must be born of water AND of the Spirit" You are born again when you are baptised, by water,&filled with His Spirit. THAT day you will know,no one will need to tell you.It is not a feeling, but a tangible confirmation from God, with signs following as Mark16.18.The natural carnal man becomes Spiritual man, when God gives His spirit.Acts2;38. Full immersion Baptism is commandment of Jesus, the two go hand in hand,to be complete

"Born again" is a translation of the Greek "gennao anothen" gennao - to be born and anothen - from above, from a higher place. So litteraly it is born from above, not born again.

Born again expresses the concept of a second birth but the original language indicates that that birth is "from above." Jesus was contasting the (first) natural birth which gave us physical life, with the (second) supernatural re-birth that gives us spiritual life.
