Why Am I Sick

Why am I sick? I wish God could heal me and make me not feel sick anymore. I have gone to see my doctor for almost a month now and she can not find anything wrong. I wish I could figure it out myself.

God does not make you sick. You have a frail human body, which can be subject to illnesses.
---alan_of_UK on 10/27/07

I know this sounds strange, but could it be demon possession? I once heard of a man who had all the symptoms of sickness, but doctors did not know what was wrong. He ended up having a demon of imfermaty (disease) that caused him to have the symptoms without actually being sick.

Dear One, do you still suffer from this malady? James
---James on 8/12/06

What little bit you have said about your disease makes it sound like it could be either fibromyalgia or Reflexive Systemic Disorder.

Both are diagnoses by elimination, and while (at this point) there's no cure, they can be managed.

Be more patient with God and yourself--but seek more aggressive diagnosis.

Donna--Jesus healed scores of people. Many of their ills were unexplained. We often ask why? or why me?. I ask God to show me if there is a spiritual reason. If He doesn't...well, why NOT me? God doesn't owe me an explanation. He's recently healed me of a deadly disease.(I'll hear from those who believe physical healing is in the atonement, but I don't even believe He OWES me a healing.) In life or death,(and I want to live) I'm safe in His hands. I do whatever I know to do..the rest is up to Him.
---Donna2277 on 5/16/06

Friends, I think if we study each and every account of the people Jesus healed, we will see all kinds of reasons why people were sick. The woman with the issue of blood had a spirit of infirmity. The man who was crippled and Jesus said "rise and be healed, your sins are forgiven you." Jesus forgave his sins first, then healed him. Sometimes it is sin, sometimes it's a spirit, sometimes it's your mortal body decaying, poor immune system, and that's why God made doctors, amen?
---Donna9759 on 5/11/06

5398 I have absolutely NO idea why you are sick. I don't think MOST sickness is due to sin or demons (think few would be healthy if that were so) but rather the general corruption of earth and our frail mortal bodies. Have you sought a second medical opinion?

I will keep praying for you. All things are possible with God. Please keep us posted on your condition.

Improper discernment of the body of the Lord Jesus...aka: unbelief.

Lord, I believe. Help me in my unbelief.
---Linda6563 on 5/10/06

Linda, Have you ever been sick? If so, what sin caused it?
---Donna2233 on 5/10/06

Jesus never walked in any of those things in His earthwalk. Now we are His body and He is the head. If we believe that we are supposed to be sick or that God puts sickness on us to teach us a lesson or that God in Christ has not healed us, then that is improper discernment also. Also, improper discernment will cause you to not take care of the body you have. "We are not our own, we have been bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body which is the Lord's."
---Linda6563 on 5/10/06

Paul said that, Karen. You may not like it or agree with it, but he said it. Division, strife, pride, malice, bitterness, envy, unforgiveness etc. were all dealt with in the body of the Lord Jesus on the cross. That is proper discernment there and we walk in that by faith, not by feelings. Any of those things in the life of a believer will result in sickness because the work of the cross has not been applied personally. So will fear and anxiety, stress.
---Linda6563 on 5/10/06

So, what you are saying Linda is, that Madison, Rebeca, and all the other Christians are sick because they inproperly discern the body of the Lord and are bringing damnation and sickness to themselves. That would mean that all the brothers and sisters that died from sickness and diease were not discerning correctly. If they had only known what you know they would still be here. That also would mean you will live forever because you discern it correctly.

5396-- ever read the Book of Job? He was sick (after having lost his children and all his possessions)He kept asking, "Why, Why, WHY? His friends gathered around, and each had an answer for him. And guess what? Every one was wrong. Same in your case, NOBODY knows. I'll pray you find a doctor who can help you OR that the Lord will just heal you outright! Forget asking "why" (the Lord may show you later) Just know that God is faithful and His Grace is sufficient for you ALWAYS.

He will also deliver the wicked to eternal damnation based on what he sees in the heart. A lot of so called christians today that think he is love and nothing else will be in for a shock when he condemns them. They lose the fear and take their religion for granted not truly living the way god wants. Just because we believe doesnt guarantee salvation, it HAS to be from the heart. The devil and demons believe.

" Why is it so popular to turn God into this peace loving fairytale nowdays?"

God isn't just peace loving. He made peace and He is peace.
---Linda6563 on 5/6/06

Oh, and by the way, God is not full of amazing love. He IS love. He is full of mercy and His compassions fail not.

"God is definately full of amazing love, but everyone wants to forget he is also judge, jury and executioner."

God vented His wrath on sin and man in Adam when His Son went to the cross. When we receive Him, we receive that "benefit". We are not appointed to wrath but to obtain eternal redemption. John 12:31-33 tells us when the judgment of the world took place.
---Linda6563 on 5/6/06

Why is it so popular to turn God into this peace loving fairytale nowdays? God is definately full of amazing love, but everyone wants to forget he is also judge, jury and executioner. God is merciful but can be angered and will unleash his wrath when needed. Where did the fear go? I dont think his punishments are restricted for after death. Sadly, some dont even think he will even deliver punishments then. I think they call it "eternal seperation". They dont want to believe fire and brimstone.

Father chastens us using His Word, not by using what He has redeemed us from in Christ. Again, improper discerning of the body of the Lord Jesus is the cause of sickness, weakness, and premature death.
---Linda6563 on 5/5/06

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Just as a good parent corrects and chastens his disobedient child, so is God forced to chasten us because of our disobedience and unwillingness to confess our sin. This chastening may come in different ways. It may be in sickness, disappointments, financial lose, it may be trouble upon trouble, but God our Father, must chasten us for sin. But, don't ever forget that He does it because He loves us.

Seeing Jesus will clear up those things we say about ourselves and others. It really is that simple.
---Linda6563 on 5/5/06

Alan, you are right. We do have earthly mortal bodies. And though they are subjected to sickness, they are not subject to sickness. They, being dead, are subject to the spirit within them. Romans 8.
---Linda6563 on 5/5/06

If you don't properly discern that He took them, you will take (accept) them as being the norm and bring damnation to yourself.
---Linda6563 on 5/5/06

Part of improperly discerning the body of the Lord Jesus is not seeing Him take every sickness, disease, and infirmity. That improper discernment would bring sickness. Those three things (weak, sick, and sleeping~premature death) are all things that can be properly discerned as being taken by Jesus. And those three things make up a three-fold cord and a three fold cord seen taken by Jesus in identification with humanity is not easily broken.

He never puts on His children what He removed in Christ. If He did, He would be double minded and unstable and we couldn't rely on Him as Jehovah-Rapha must less as Father. Chris, are you a father? Do you have children? If so, would you wish or place sickness on your children when they didn't behave? How about punish them or discipline them with sickness? I don't think you would. People who don't promote the health of a child in this day and age are sent to prison.
---Linda6563 on 5/5/06

"...we bring damnation to ourselves and for this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep."

We bring damnation to OURSELVES. That is not God chastening us. Father chastens us using His Word to speak to our hearts, not by putting sickness on us. Sickness in the body won't change the heart a bit. The flesh never affects the heart. The heart affects the flesh.
---Linda6563 on 5/5/06

Alan, I think God does make some of us sick sometimes (that doesnt sound right). It is a way to chasten us. Here is an example, in 1 Corinthians 11:27-32 we are warned that we should examine ourselves or judge ourselves before we partake of the Lords supper other wise we bring damnation to ourselves and for this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (not spiritual damnation). There are many other Biblical examples of the Lords chastening of his people as well.

I used to say, "I am sick and tired of this or that"...and I was sick and tired all the time. I moved from there to, "I am worn out"...and I was. You SHALL have whatsoever you say. It is always good and right to agree with God.

I read a story about a woman who had a fever that wouldn't go away. She went to doctor after doctor and they could find nothing wrong with her. They began to question her and she told them that she always said, when she got angry, "That just burns me up." The doctor told her that he wasn't sure it had anything to do with it but to go home and not say that anymore. She did and the fever left her.
---Linda6563 on 5/5/06

I take authority over this spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus, and plead the blood of Jesus that was shed to break every curse of sickness, you have said Father before I call you will answer and while I am yet speaking you will hear, send Grace now for healing, for now faith is Amen.
---exzuc6636 on 5/4/06

Remember the woman with the issue of blood? In the amp. verse Mark 5:28, it says, " she kept saying..." .
1. It shows the principle in Romans 10:9-10, confess with your mouth & believe in your heart.
2. Believe(be convinced & fully persuaded) that God wants you well.(3John2; Psalms 103:3)
3. Confess w/ your mouth what the Word says
(1Peter 2:24; Mark 11:23; 2Corinthians 4:13)
4. Ye shall have WHATSOEVER YOU SAY
(Mark 11:23)<

I have had a tube in my kidney for almost 3 months. Now I need my kidney taken out. But guess what? I don't question God as to why it happened. It just did. Even though I am in pain alot, and can't do much now, I am still blessed. No matter what we go through with, we are STILL BLESSED. Maybe you have depression.
---Rebecca_D on 3/30/06

I am ill a lot also. It helps me when I can eat more natural foods without the things added. Royal Jelly, organic milk(including cheese,butter...),good water and fresh fruit, vegi, meats and fish. I was raised on this type of food though so I think my body just excepts it better. My mom had a garden, lived in dairy, friends fished and hunted. I feel better, not well, better.
---Alexandra on 3/30/06

Hold fast to your confession. Death and life or sickness and healing are in the power of your tongue(Proverbs 18:21, Mark 11:23, Job 22:28, 2Corinthians 4:13) So start saying what the Word of God says. In 1Peter 2:24 it says, " by Whose stripes you were healed." So start saying by Jesus stripes I was healed. (Matthew 8:17; Acts 10:38)

As long as we live in the flesh we suffer the infirmity of the flesh and the righteous suffer many afflictions but God delivers them out of all of them. according to Isaiah 53, who's report will you believe, can you believe you are healed by the stripes of Jesus. I believe that for You. you can call for the elders, be anointed, find a believer to lay hands on you, so many ways are available. I would suggest repentence, it always works for me. exzucuh

We have a body that God gave us to take care of. Some things we can't avoid, pollutants in the air, germs in the air etc.
However, if we are getting enough vitamins and minerals and building our immune system to a strong level, we will contract less illnesses. Keep your stress down, and start your day with prayer, and continue that during the day!

In understand what you are going through. I was sick for 9 weeks and the doctors could not figure out what was causing my sickness. All they new was I had an infection. And all I could do was pray for wisdom for the doctors, and to reveal where the infection was. I just thank God they figured out what was wrong with me. I suggest you pray that the doctors have wisdom and the knowledge to get the right tests done and show them what is causing your illness. I'll pray for your healing, too.
