Delivered By A Rapture

If there is to be no rapture, how can we be delivered from the wrath to come as described in first Thessalonians 1:10? Is not the wrath spoken of here, that time of tribulation that is coming?

It seems to me that the tribulation, at least in the beginning,, is not due to the wrath of God, but due to the apostacy of the church and the rise of the antichrist. Reading II Thess Chap 2 gives me the impression the wrath of God does not come until the "son of perdition" is revealed. See II Thess 2:3-8 .I believe it is some time after this that the saints shall be "caught up".

There will be a rapture according to scriptures. In scripture it says we will be caught up.(ICorinthians 15:51-54; IThess. 4:17)

Perhaps the rapture will not be exactly as we think. What if our physical feet never leave the ground , but the entire church caught up in a vision like experience for the wedding supper of the lamb and then return changed.

Whatever the Pope might do, he does NOT and never had denied that JEsus Christ has come in the flesh, which is the sine qua non for recognizing Antichrist.

The "wrath to come" is eternal punishment in the Lake of Fie, aka gehennah, aka hell.

The Tribulation is quite mild compared with this.

It's the funniest thing, but in all the history of Christian literature--and there's lots of it--there was NEVER belief in or mention of a pre-trib rapture until 1830 when Margaret MacDonald, a psychic of Port Glasgow, Scotland, came up with it.

Moderator - Actually, she got the doctrine from some Jesuit Priests right before her. They made the doctrine to take the focus off of the current Pope as the Protestant world was teaching that he was the Anti-Christ and that was causing Catholics to leave the Catholic Church.

lynn--I use the term "caught up" because that's the Bible term for what we call the "rapture". True Christians will experience persecution and some will be martyred. It is happening now in other countries. The Bible indicates that a time will come when those killing Christians will think they are doing God a favor! (I can't seem to find this passage..if anybody knows where it is in the NT pls let me know)

The wrath to come is upon the children of disbedience, not those under the blood.exzucuh

Donna said it "caught up" by the prison camps waiting for the Christians

The Tribulation is the first 3-1/2 years of the last seven years. When antichrist proclaims himself to be god that's when the "Great Tribulation", the wrath of God begins. I believe the Tribulation period is very near our grasp.

Moderator - Yes, very as the church is almost in a total apostate condition.
