Are All Christians Truly Christian

Do you think the whole Body of Christ will be the Bride of Christ. Scripture call Jesus the 2nd Adam. Could it be that the Bride of Christ will be taken out of a sleeping Body of Christ as the rib portion, just as the bride of Adam was builded out of the rib of a sleeping Adam.

Moderator - If you are asking if everyone that says they are a Christian is a true Christian, the answer is not even close. According to scripture, the church will become almost totally apostate before the Anti-Christ is revealed. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

The ONLY thing that makes you a Christian is by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior!!!! All other teaching are LIES from Hell! There will be many that will say "Lord, Lord, I did this and that in your name", but Jesus will say "depart from Me, I never knew you".

Jesus said He was going to prepare a mansion for us. We are now in a corruptible, fleshly body. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. We will recieve glorified bodies. We are now living in a tent, so to speak. Our glorified bodies are going to be our mansions. That heavenly city is made up of Saints in their glorified bodies or mansions. The Word says the Bride will be made a pillar in the City of my God.

2 Cor. 11:2 says we are espoused to one husband, Christ. All of the children of God are engaged to be married to Christ. Not all Saints love Christ as Bridegroom. Seems to me that that should be a pre-requisite. If Adam is a type of Christ, God could be building a Bride out of a rib of the Body of Christ, the Church.

To answer the heading question. Only the profess christians and The Father will ever know for sure in this dispensation. We can only judge by our perceptions, I personally choose not to do so. Only The Father knows our hearts.

I have a question within this question. How can we be both the body and the bride of Christ? Where is it mentioned in scripture, that we as the called of The Father are the bride of Christ? The reason I ask is that it has always been my understanding that we are His body on earth. Eph. 1:23. And that the bride is being adorned in heaven and is shown to be the new city of Jerusalem. Rev. 21:9,10.

here we are being changed from glory to glory when Jesus returns we will be completely changed instantly because we will see Him, so we shall be like him! Amen!

I agree with Jack!

Our church services are not to win the lost. The gathering together of the saints is for the purpose of us growing up and being assembled into that holy habitation of God in the spirit. That is why apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are given to the body of Christ. Witnessing to the lost is done "outside the four walls".

Knowing the truth is a powerful weapon, when the moderator makes this statement, "The largest witnessing field today is the local church as most people that attend aren't Christians including the Pastors." I am literally jerked upright in my chair. This is the absolute truth, devastating as it may seem it is the absolute truth. My intentions are to be more aware of this fact while witnessing.

Moderator - I have only figured it out over the past few years and now have time to make up for.

I agree Debbie, We should stop bickering about doubtful things like Paul tells us in Rom. 14:1-5 and dig a little deeper into the Word.

I agree with Jack.

There is a reason I posted this question. Jesus is coming back soon; we need to lay aside all of our preconceived ideas, get just far enought outside our traditional religious doctrines, to study for ourselves. Find out the Truth from a revelation of God, not another source. God through the Holy Spirit is the only one who can truly reveal Bible doctinal Truth. God is seeking out saints who are willing to open their spiritual eyes, mind, and hearts to receive His Truth.

I agree that denominations have nothing to do with the question. There are no denominations in heaven. There is only one Church, the Church of Jesus Christ, of which He is the HEAD. Length of service isn't what we are talking about either. There are saints that have been saved for years, but are still babes in Christ. Read the 2 prayers the Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesian saints in Eph. 1:16-23, which must be answered before the second prayer: Eph. 3:14-21, can be answered.

Maturity doesn't have anything to do with length of service. I know of Christians who have "served" for 40 years and are still just as infantile as the day they started, if not more so. And I know of Christians who have only been saved for a couple of years who have grown much in those two years. The Song of Solomon is a book about the growth of the believer into the bride.

Let's not forget that "Christian" is not a synonym for "good" or "I approve of this."

It was a name given to Christ's disciples. Perhaps not all profited by His work or teaching as much as they might have, or should have--but do any of us?

Therefore, if we obey Christ's words in Matthew 7:1, it's not for us to determine who is a "real" Christian. We should only examine and judge ourselves.

Amen Debbie.

Debbie I think that the bride of Christ will consist of baby Christians as well as mature ones. The reason I believe this is because in a parable told by Jesus we read that those who worked for the Master for only the last hour were paid exactly the same as those who worked for Him all day. Someone is either a Christian or is not, there will be no discrimination regarding 'length of service'. Some people are saved on their death bed remember.
---M.P. on 5/5/06

It has nothing to do with churches or denominations. It will be the church as in only those who are born again. Past and present born again Christians. MANY of those who claim to be Christians today are fooling themselves. But it is not a denomination... there are born again Christians in Catholic churches and unsaved in Baptist churches. I dont know if I answered the question, but I tried.
---chris on 5/5/06

Do you think Jesus will be marrying a babe in Christ, or even a child in Christ. He will be equally yoked with a grown, mature Christian who has come to love Him as Bridegroom and not just Savior, Master, and Lord. There is a profound difference.

Moderator, that was not what I was asking.
In the Old Testament, there are many types or allegories which give us a picture or a shadow of things in the new Testament. Gal 4:21-26; Heb. 9:9; 10:1. The common belief in Christendom today is that the Bride of Christ is comprised of the whole Body of Christ. Could it be that the Body of Christ is really asleep, in their comfort zone and unaware of what really is happening, while God is taking only a rib portion from the Body to make a Bride of Jesus.
