I can see where that could be a concern to you, but if you faithfully read your bible you know what God requires of you, and if your church is not in line with God's word, LEAVE.

Disregard a churches' teachings if they do not line up exactly with the Scriptures. For example scriptures say, "that no flesh will be justify by the law". So does your church teach law keeping; (do this, do that or don't do this, or don't do that)? If so perhaps you should take a closer look.

Because I know the word of God and what he says in the bible to be true, and my Pastor reads from the word of God.

Sin sends a person to hell. The wages of sin is death.

Mike, my faith lines up with the Word of God, but I do understand your question. There are many baptist churches who are leading people to a devil's hell. For instance, I have heard this---"repeat after me"---the sinners prayer and you will be saved. That is not true in a million years. We are saved by conviction of the Holy Spirit.

NOBODY can send you to hell except YOU. The Holy Spirit was given to us to reveal the truth of God's word to our hearts. If it doesn't jive with what you're being taught, GET OUT NOW!!! (but let the Lord lead you where to go from there)

Compare what you're told with what the bible says, if it cannot be proven by the word of God, don't buy it. Most bonafide preachers will preach incorrect stuff at one time or another but if such a trend is explitly continuous, or if the error is serious enough, leave the church and go to somewhere else.

First, be born again. Second, be filled with the Spirit. Seek after Bible Doctrine, not denominational doctrine. Then put your confidence in the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth. Be sensitive to the Spirit dwelling within you, and He will give you a troubled, unsettled feeling in your gut when confronted with error. If it is Truth, there will be total peace in your gut. Often our mind will not line up with our gut, but don't try to reason out your gut feeling. Trust it!
