Are Atheist Demonically Inspired

Why do the atheistic unbelieving people argue and become so dogmatic in their beliefs, which in reality are not beliefs at all but just merely myths resulting in confusion and probably demonically inspired?

Mima ... what is your definition of an atheist, and do you have any particular people in mind?
---alan8869_of_UK on 3/20/08

Many atheists believe Jesus is a Levite, and they don't believe in the Trinity, of course.
---Cooke on 5/9/07

The word religion does not always refer to faith in some kind of god, it can simply mean 'a belief system'. Atheists follow a religion called atheism, it is a belief system. They are dogmatic because they believe passionately what they tell you. They are very sincere, but sincerely wrong. I'm sure that some are demonically inspired, but they do not realise that because they do not believe in a personal devil.

The sign of an atheist is that he believes that he doesn't believe. So he still believes.

Brhce5656>>>This is a little of what I came across.--"And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness....[Gen.1:26].a Plant life possessed unconscious life. b. Animal life possessed conscious life. c. Man alone possessed self-conscious life. The image of God can only refer to Spititual qualities. >>>Intended by God for fellowship with Himself. And the breath of heaven we have. And this>>>The Spirit Himself bears witness with our Spitit that we are children of God.

I love the passage of John 9:41.The Pharisees were rulers who followed their greed and selfish practices. When Jesus heals a blind man, they say "Are we blind also"? Jesus gives the right reply, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of Sin;but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains".
---rosem4839 on 4/22/07

I always thought the sign of an atheist was that he has no beliefs

Just found the verse I really wanted to show you from Ephesians 1:13b-14: "...having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory." Once again, only Believers have the Holy Spirit.
---Daniel on 5/23/06

Grace: Do you read your Bible? The Spirit (you capitalized it) wasn't even given to live within Believers until after Christ's resurrection! Everyone has their own spirit, but only the saved have the Holy Spirit! "Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption." Ephesians 4:30. Only the redeemed of God have the Holy Spirit living within them.

"Karen.....every human on this planet is made in the image of God, and has the Spirit within them"
What is the scriptural support for such a statement?
---Bruce5656 on 5/23/06

Karen.....every human on this planet is made in the image of God, and has the Spirit within them. It is our choice (free choice even by God) to have a relationship with God or not. Jesus did not minister with self-righteouness, but with kindness and tolerance.

Mike, I read what you put down about your sister. I too am very sorry someone would say such words to her or for that matter to anyone. There is many Christians that would love to debate and of course this site is so big that many do get on that just get on to make trouble for others. I am sorry for that too. I can now see why you are bitter on your answers sometimes. I will leave you alone, no more answers from me to you.
---Lupe2618 on 5/23/06

Grace, no one pushes anyone away from Christ. If they don't have the Spirit of God they will go away eventually.
---karen on 5/23/06

Religious people are often evil; Most of Christian history, crusades, pograms, dark ages, etc. point to demonic influence. Specifically in Christian history, burning women and the other evils of some religious groups prove demonic influence, and thus invalid theologies, 'by their fruits you shall know them' In our modern secular world one of Satans tricks is try to prove he does not exist, then God would not exist. -'Sola scriptora' is a concept from Luther, one he coined, then later rejected.
---MikeM on 5/23/06

To answer the question as to why some atheists may argue or become dogmatic...could it be the approach of many Christians is to attack an atheist with self-righteous indignation........ many Christians could be asked the same question! God allows freedom of choice, and Christians should be just as tolerant. Discussion and witnessing can be accomplished without self-righteous attitudes. I believe it is this arrogant attitude that pushs more people away from the organized religion of Christianity.
---Grace on 5/23/06

1. Define atheist: a person who does not believe in deities or God. 2. Define 'God'. Does this mean the patriarchal Christain/Muslim/Jewish God, the God of Native Americans (The Great Spirit), a Universal Energy or other forms and definitions of God. When speaking to someone who claims to be an atheist, I like to ask them to define what they mean by 'God' and the discussion can go from there.

The context of Mike's remark is revealed in the "offending" blog. PLEASE READ IT BEFORE REPLYING HERE

Some Christians have deeply offended him, his sister, and her still-born child.
---John_T on 5/23/06

You paint with a LARGE paintbrush, "There are many religious people who are very evil." How about being specific?

Vast generalizations are vast, general, and unreliable. The statement before and after, are exactly correct. However, your whole reply seems to deny the existence of demons, and their influence on humanity. That flat-out contradicts Scripture, the ONLY divine, consistent objective source of morality

I wanted to respond to this message but think I will take a pass. Let me suggest if you're going to ask questions about atheists, perhaps you should find an atheist and ask one? I'm guessing the mostly christian people who follow this blog maybe don't have the right perspective. I site as an example the first respondent who said when something goes wrong in an atheists life, they ask a believer to pray for them. That is simply not true. Do a search on American atheists and visit their web site.

Some atheist are 'evil' some are not. I would ask an atheist what he basis his morality, his feelings, society, goverment? I believe there must be an objective basis for morality. There are many religious people who are very evil. Atheism requires a lot of faith, a faith that nothing is bigger than himself. Science has implications of creation, ontological implications a narrow-closed-minded-atheist would have to ignore. Some atheist are very religious.
---MikeM on 5/22/06

To me I believe that everyone that has heard of God believes in him. Because you take an atheist, claims that God doesn't exist, but when something goes wrong in their life, what do they do? They run to a Christian begging them to pray for their situation. If they don't believe in God then why ask someone to pray? Their carnal mind can't comprehend God spiritualy, but they know that he exists.
---Rebecca_D on 5/22/06

Alan, how true, professing themselves to be wise they have become fools, even to denying the historical facts that Christ actually lived, died, and he resurrected and ascended up into heaven in the eyewitnessed presence of man. God proves himself daily among man with his manifold supernatural miracles of healings and resurrections around the world, this is physical and tangible evidence of God really exists.
---Eloy on 5/20/06

a catholic, believing in God is nothing apart from obeying God. Satan believes in God, but he's still not saved and condemned to everlasting hell fire. The God type of belief in the Bible is actually obedience. "For God so loved the world that his Son the single-sired he gave, that all in who obey him be not abandoned, but have life eternal. The obedient to him is not judged; but the not obeying already has been judged, that not obedient to the Name of the single-sired Son of God." John 3:16,18.

jack, Jesus said the Jews who sought to kill him and they yelled, Crucify him, Crucify him, did not know God or who his Father was, because they were of their father the devil. And as far as the Romans who persecuted and murdered the Christians and Christ, they did not know the one true living God either, else they would not have killed the Lord of glory.
---Eloy on 5/20/06

Eloy ... Yes the atheist is one who knows there is no God.I wonder what "proof" they have on which they can make such a certain statement?
They say there is no proof of God, and indeed there is little physical evidence, yet there is still less evidence to prove that there is no god.
---alan8869_of_UK on 5/19/06

Eloy, Jesus was not condemned by the atheists but by the Jews who were believers in God.
---A_Catholic on 5/19/06

That would be agnostics who have no belief. a= no and gnosis = knowledge.

The question you ask is sorta rhetorical. Who ELSE whoud inspire atheists to be proud, worship creation, but not the Creator and elevate animals to the same level as God's greatest creation, us?

The god of this world has surely decieved them

Eloy, the people who killed Jesus WERE believers in God. You don't think the Jews were or are atheists, do you? Neither was the Roman Empire officially; they did believe in some kind of god or gods.
---Jack on 5/19/06

Mima, why are you so surprised that atheists become so dogmatic in their beliefs? Many Christians become dogmatic in their interpretations no matter how warped they may be.
---A_Catholic on 5/19/06

Atheistic unbelieving people are not the only ones who argue and become so dogmatic in their beliefs (some of them merely myths and confusion), if these boards are any indication.

Could it be that some Christians are being demonically inspired?
---Jack on 5/19/06

For the same reason that they hate Jesus, and murdered him when he tried to show them the right way. Most people who live in sin do not like the light being turned on.

Mima ... thanks.
I think the atheist would say that Christians are those relying on myths. From a humanly rational point of view, the atheists seem to win over us Christians, because there is little physical evidence or proof of God, except in Biblical history (which they would call myth) or in the changed life of believers (whom they would call gullible)
---alan8869_of_UK on 5/19/06

Atheists are not without beliefs. I know several 'atheists'. One says he moved through Christianity and agnosticism to atheism but then added that he isn't good enough to go to Heaven but will go to 'the other place'. Others say that they don't believe in God or Heaven but will party with all their friends when they meet up in hell. These are not people without beliefs, they just do not want to believe in a God who will make them accountable. They want to do their own thing.
---f.f. on 5/19/06

Atheist, Agnostic, Antagonist, all who have not made up their minds or think they have the answer where we came from and will go to. An anthropologist professor at a N.C. Christian college said recently he searched so long for God, he proved there was not one. To me, he looked too hard at the facts and to little at the Spirit. Some people are doomed (like Pharo) to be examples, Judas goats, chaff, or maybe the rocks that knock some sense into Christians as to where faith comes in about God.
---mikefl on 5/18/06

alan: my definition of an atheist is a person who sincerely states that they do not believe in a God. This question was caused by having dealt with a atheist while witnessing yesterday.
