George::"The hebrew word for messenger is Malark" but the english who protested have added an "i" malarki does that change the gender, plurality, or the meaning.in this day and age!!!!

Narcissism in the first degree.
"You ignorant person. .. I am declaring His judgment. I shall declare it as His messenger.
---catherine on 7/20/07"
You are not a messenger of God, catherine.
The English word "angel" comes from the Greek angelos, which means 'messenger'. In the Old Testament, with two exceptions, the Hebrew word for "angel" is malak, also meaning 'messenger'.
---George on 7/21/07|
Although the word "angel" in the Bible, meaning a messenger, nearly always applies to heavenly beings, we meet messengers doing supernatural things, there is no doubt they are heavenly beings - God's messengers, working for Him and for the ultimate benefit of mankind.
catherine, all of your unspiritual, narcissistic rebuking of others falls idly to the ground. It is of none effect. Your curses without cause do not alight on anyone here.
---George on 7/21/07|
Echad/God does not want any of 'HIS' ignorant as says the scriptures, I'm one of His! The post using this word describing a believer in Messias/Christ Jesus strongly implies [racca] 'fool', & you know what Christ said about that! "..out of the abundance of one's heart, one speaks"!
P.S. The repentent thief on the cross with Messiah/Christ 'did time' in Abraham's Bosom also!
Why So Angry, 'Christian', not a good testimony!

Your comments themselves reflect your ignorance of Christ & The Holy Scriptures. Christ HAS NOT judged 'anyone', yet [Jn.3:16-17], that comes at His return as written in Matt.25th chapt., & at His "Great White Throne Judgement" immediately following "The Great Tribulation"/"Jacob's Trouble"!
"Judge not, that ye be not judged, ...". Cp.Luke 13:1-5.
---bob_[Elishama]_6749 on 7/21/07|
catherine: statements such as "You ignorant person" are judgmental and condescending. I would caution you to be very careful not to be an accuser of the brethren, which may be easy to fall in to. It is written that the kindness of God leads to repentance Romans 2:4. bless you

You ignorant person. Before he was placed in his mother's womb. "Who are not necessarily the saved" They do not necessarily have Great Conviction of Sin, Impressions, Enlightnment, Have the Gospel, Believed and are Baptised, Makes a profession, Pray, Repents, Religious work, Doctrinally sound, Have Assurance, Don't Doubt, Or keeps Company wiyh godly people. >>I am not sitting in judgment of anyone. Christ did that. I am declaring His judgment. I shall declare it as His messenger.
---catherine on 7/20/07|
faith, you're right! Everyone dying in 'the faith' from Adam, Eve, Noah to Malachi, to John The Baptist & others, except Moses & Enoch, spent time in 'Paradise' [Abrahams Bosom] 'til The Author & Finisher [Of All Things] preached to them there, then they followed Him to Heaven. Including those mentioned in the Hebrew's 'Faith Chapter'. The word faith is only mentioned 2 times in the old/original covenant, why? Because 'The Author & Finisher Of Our Faith' was'nt glorified then!

John was saved by looking forward to the promise of the Christ, as did the OT saints. Great ex is Abraham: John 8:56
"Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day, he saw it and was glad."
---christina on 7/20/07|
NO ONE had Salvation as a born again Christian until after the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Before that it was the LAW -which alot of people are STILL using, bypassing the blood due to lack of faith in Jesus's finished work on the Cross. Jesus said,"NO MAN comes to the Father but thru ME." Too many thieves and robbers in the world of Christianity trying to make it another way.

Luke 1:41-42 tells us this:- 'And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.' I believe that this shows that John knew his own purpose and recognised his Saviour whilst both were still in the womb. He was definitely saved.

Mima::"Those who find their life will lose it,& those who lose their Life for my sake will find it"Matt 10:39.History says that John the Baptist was Beheaded .
---Emcee on 3/6/07|
At the time of John the Baptist, "being saved" didn't mean the same thing it means to American evangelicals today.
One "got saved" by being part of the saved, redeemed people--not all by oneself as an individual "me and my God" type decision.
---Jack on 3/6/07|
Recognizing that to be filled with the Holy Ghost is to be saved, and understanding what LUKE 1:15 says about John the Baptist it seems strange the answerers did not recognize John the Baptist as having been borned in a state of salvation(already saved in his mother's womb).
---mima on 5/22/06|
This question should redirect to Adam & Eve if you question about whether John the Baptist was saved.
God created them and had already done what was neccessary for them to serve His purpose before the new generations were multiplied.

Herb is right, but John the Baptist didn't get born-again until after Jesus ascended into the deep and preached.(Ephesians 4:9-10)

jesus was the word. the word became flesh and dwelled among as.jesus taught by parable that the beggar was in the bossom of abraham in heaven and the rich man in hell.was abraham saved? the poor beggar?john was a jew.was he saved by gods word?as the poor man and abraham?since christ death and ressuriction all people even jews must accept christ to be saved. but before christ jews were made righteous by the law and by sheeding of blood by the chief priest yearly.john preached repentance.

Of course John the Baptist was Saved. Why do you think God appointed him to Baptize others
and why did Jesus go to him? If that was important as to who Saved him, it would be in the Scriptures.
---Dale on 5/21/06|
First you have to realize that John the Baptist lived under the law. God delt differently with people under the law than grace. God chose him for a special purpose and the Spirit of God worked in him from conception.
When did David get saved? By living according to God's will and keeping the commandments. Yes, David sinned, but he always repented and turned back to God.
