doree4573: I hate to tell you this but you had better stay prepared to move to another church soon. The same problems you encountered at your old church will probably crop up at your new church. Wherever there are people, there will be problems galore. Running does not solve them. Christians as well as non-christians all have issues(sins) to deal with.I prayed and worked on myself and now I am not stressed anymore about what goes on in my church.

To Doree4573: This is how I solved a lot of stress and pain I felt when I attended churches in the past. Now I go to church, stay focused on Jesus, avoid clicks, treat everyone nice, greet others. When church is over I stop lingering around. Greet the pastor/wife/ visitors /members and hurry to my car. I also give money in secret. I feel much better. I don't fight for positions etc...

I have just changed churches due to gossipand a total lack of pastoral care od led me to awonderful fellowship, and I thabnk Him for it.Iand others have been badsly hurt by christians more than by nonChrisrtians, many leave as a result gossip anbd being judgemental seem to be the 2 main reasons people leave

It truly upsets me when I hear people making excuses why they dont go to church and why they dont practice their Faith. As a community we need to support our Church whether it is monetary or volunteer. You give what you can but it is in unity that we conquer the devil.

Our leaders are human and also sin. They can only guide us. As far as donations go. I dont think we should be harrassed but we should donate. I had a friend that lost everything in a fire and it was my church who donated all furnishings, food and money to get them into a new apartment. My relatives later expressed how crazy it was to give money and ridiculed the church. That as long as they beleive that it was OK. I had to remind them who they turned to for help.

Someone said"
The sin of presumptuousness and the simplifying the rules of salvation." Simplifying the rules of salvation is a sin? What Jesus came to give men and freely the organized church insists on charging for. Money certainly, and a multitude of rules and regulations that are not contained in the word of God.

Yes, by all means false preachers and teachers that everyone seems bent on supporting and listening and heeding to every word he saids. Unbelievers do not know, have noway of knowing, what is false and what is true. What few believers there are in the church today don't know either. >>>It is a real JOKE. It is a real problem. And guess what MONEY is behind it.>>UGG,UGG.+++

Too many to list here in this small space. But here's a short list: Greed(preachers),coveteousness, false teaching, lukewarm christians within the church, apathy,no love, anger, woundedness(among the flock),pride, compromising preachers,no revival in the church, no prayer, jealousy, sex sins ,whoredom, fornication, no solid teaching from preachers, split denominations, heresy,no power, signs and wonders. Many, many more.

I would have to say not living a life in submission to gods word in every aspect of your life.what do you think and talk about?football, shopping, your neighbor, your portfolio, cars movies, money, you name it.what should you be thinking about?gods love, goodness, how you should love everbody?the bible talks about a form of godliness but denying it,s power.are you allowing the holy spirit to use you to affect others daily? or at every opportunity? are you living a life that tells all what you are?

#1 sin: is Denying Christ.Discerning Him out of our hearts if necessary.#2 sin:Dwelling on the outward appearances, instead of letting the Holy Spirit free in our hearts.#3
sin:Too many chiefs and not enough Indians.Sometimes we lose the very ones who need the church the most. The harshness of words and condemnation, the judgements are too critical for assuming persons to make.Clicks are for children
and Christians are free!Threats and fear surely can't save a soul.

gossip is one, the other is falsehood of the being the "body of christ" if your not in a certain group or clic nobody cares whether you come to church or not
---richard on 6/12/06

False teachings that are abounding, and lusting after wealth that comes from false teaching, hence covetousness.

2.Lack of love- SELFISHNESS

Trying to be something their not. Flirting with the Devil, not letting God be God in their life. There are many things that get in the way between a person and God. And the sad part is, it not only effects that person but the whole church.

That which seems to be a lack of even trying to make a sincere, honest attempt to love one another as the Father for Christ sake has loved us. (It has been given me to define love thusly: Love is motive lead by a thought that inclines us to do and say that which is uplifting, edifying, and beneficial to and towards our fellow man.)

Mima "one religion is as good as another to get to heaven"
Is that a common message in the US? I have never heard it preached in the UK.
---alan8869_of_UK on 5/23/06

most churches do not preach Christ crucified and salvation thru the blood of Jesus Christ. Then, there is pride.
---shira on 5/23/06

First of all, I don't believe the Body of Christ can be destroyed, It is the Body of Christ. It can, however have a stubbed toe, sprained ankle, wretched knee, broken arm, etc. All of those things don't destroy a body, they hinder it and render it handicap for a time. The body of Christ is handicapped by its lack of self-judgment as individuals. 1 Cor 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
---Debbie on 5/23/06

The biggest sin is that the church has completely lost the mission assigned to it by Jesus.Go into the world and preach the gospel.Instead we are busy wallowing in self pleasing doctrines.

Not loving as Christ loves. When we love as Christ loves, we will change our lives to be more like His.
---eleanor_1 on 5/23/06

The body of Christ has handcuffed itsself by failure to be about the implementing of the Great Commission. We know that the Father uses the foolishness of preaching to win souls. However most preachers do not want to appear foolish(which is clearly stating how someone can be saved) and therefore preach to itching ears. An example of preaching to itching ears is= one religion is as good as another to get to heaven>
