John says that denying that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is the spirit of Antichrist.

I would say it's not what actions make a person have the Antichrist Spirit, but rather, the spirit a person has that determines his actions.

This is the fruit of the Anti-christ Spirit the Spirit of the world.

Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

jesus condemned the religious leaders of his day for their hypocrisy. Those ecclesiastical figures made a pretense of being godly, yet refused to follow the spiritual intent of gods law, jesus attributed to them satan,s own character, using the analogy that since their father was satan. like father, like son. The devil is a liar a murder, so who should be surprised if his children do the same, preaching a perverted gospel of deception and falsehood.

It is the spirit that exalts itself above all that is called God. It is alive and well behind many pulpits today. It is spewing lies and leading people to hell talking about Jesus and this world's riches every step of the way while it removes the fear of God. It's very popular on tv and rakes in the widow's mites while making blasphemous statements telling people what they want to hear.

Many nonChristians are antiChrist. Anti- means, "against" rather than "pro" (for) Christ. The flesh rebels against Christ, it cannot tolerate nor accept his Lordship, his holiness, and his absolute commands to surrender and obey.

BeartheBruce, You write " The spirit of the Antichrist may be working among us now, although I find that hard to accept given that the Antichrist's power and domination really do not come into play until the second half of the tribulation" 1 John 1:3 says "but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world."

I don't agree with this. Maybe the interpretation is wrong.

Ponder this; If someone treats Mary as a godness(prays to her) then her child could not possibly be of human flesh because goddesses don't birth humans. Now if we treat Mary as just a woman we are affirming that a child born from her would have been born in the flesh. Hidden truths uncovered proof some religions to be Antichrist.

1Jn. 2:22 "He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son." 4:3 "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.... this is the spirit of antichrist" 2Jn. 7 "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist". In this the children of God (confession & love) or the children of the devil (denial & hate) for Jesus or one another are manifest.

Paul called the Anti-christ the Spirit of the World and the carnal nature the beast it is the nature of 6 the incarnate nature of Satan born into every son of adam one must be born again for the unclean spirit to go out. but if that spirit returns and finds the house not occupied by the Holy Spirit he returns with 7 more worse than himself making the man the son of perdition an AntiChrist a Judas a false Christian.

To live by the law and pay God for your blessings is to deny Christ has come in the flesh because you deny his work on the cross making him non existent. As if he never came.
---exzucuh on 6/7/06

According to 1 John, it's denying that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh.

You'd think with so many Sola Scriptura people, this would have been posted already!

You mean disobedience to God and not keeping His commandments will not condemn the guilty to Hell? The friend of Jesus keeps His commandments. If one is not a friend, you are His enemy. Will an enemy of Christ go to Heaven? Heb. 10:24-27. Skipping worship is deliberate willful sin. Satan works from within by deceiving people into thinking a little disobedience is OK. What Bible are you reading?

The spirit of the anti-christ is Satan, always has been, always will be, until the end of time. Satan works through anyone he can, mostly sinners, because they despise Christians. When someone misses a church service, that doesn't mean they are doomed for hell and doing work for Satan, that is stupid. It doesn't hurt no one to take a vacation and miss a couple of church services. I would have to agree with BeartheBruce on this one.

Surely you do not beleive that missing a Sunday worship for a ball game presumes we are league with the Antichrist? Christianity is about the relationship we have with Jesus Christ. The spirit of the Antichrist may be working among us now, although I find that hard to accept given that the Antichrist's power and domination really do not come into play until the second half of the tribulation, but going to a ball game instead of being in worship is not a manifestation of the evil associated with him.
