Pray To Torment The Nations

A friend of mine told me that he was praying to torment nations and to control the weather. He's an ordained minister, but I ran from him, to me that's too demonic. Should I have stayed friends with him to try and speak the truth to him and maybe he'd see the truth? What would I say to him?

I'm sure he outgrew his Revelation 11 fantasy by now...I hope anyway.

Luke 9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did?
Luke 9:55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
Luke 9:56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

Come out from among them and be ye separate.
Why are you going to a Fruit of the Loon church?
Was the minister able to stop Katrina or did he pray for it? A curse without cause shall not alight. His prayers fell to the ground that were not lined up with the Word of God.

Do you have a church home?
I think you need some Christian friends. This sounds like some sort of a cult.
To stay friends would not be wise. Those type of friends will sway someone who is impressionable.

You did right to separate yourself from this person. I would however pray for him. How does he believe cursing someone will bring anything good?? Pray also for who ever ordained this man.
Just pray because a person so caught up in a delusion would most likely not be open to hearing the truth. Pray that God will open his eyes to the truth.

And his reason for doing this was.....? If it was to destroy them, then you know that that is not God's heart. If it was to scare them into salvation, then you know that is not God's heart either. There is enough torment in the earth without his help.

I have twice seen prayers about the weather that was taking place at the time answered unbelievably and miraculously. I once saw my mother turn a tornado with prayer.
Piloting a boat on the Mississippi River I was trapped in a hazardous condition by fog. The radar went out. I begin to pray and the fog unrealistically and unnaturally lifted about a 100 feet off the water and I could see clearly. When we were out of danger the fog came right down again. Many people saw this causing much talk.

Good answers people! keep up the good work.

... But if we would stop and realize how many innocent people were devestated and even lost their lives in Katrina, not to mention the even more people who died in it and are in hell right now, we would NEVER pray that such a thing happen. We, as the "standers in the gap", should be praying the exact opposite. Because I firmly believe it is the prayers of the TRUE church that have kept America from being blown to bits

To Pray that something like Katrina would happen to anybody, I dont care how wicked they are, does NOT show the heart of a child of God. I firmly believe that Katrina was not God's punishment, but was a result of sinful rebellious people being allowed by him to do things thier own way. People don't realize how many catastrophes we are spared because of God's protective hand over us. Sometimes he removes that hand, and disaster strikes, because the destroyer is allowed to run rampant for a time.

He says he is a minister of the gospel, oh and he has people following him which to me sounds cultish.

What he meant by controlling the weather, since it was said in the same context as tormenting nations, I took him to mean he thinks he is controlling the hurricanes to come and destroy people and their land. He is keeping it hot to destroy crops, etc., As soon as his conversation got wierd, I cut him short and said goodbye. I haven't spoken to him since and that was a while ago.

To TORMENT nations??? That is, OH SO wrong! How is that fulfilling the great commision?! As far as the weather thing goes, what exactly do you mean? We pray all the time for protection from bad weather, as we live right in the heart of tornado alley, as well as our families live on the gulf coast of Texas. So WE pray against tornadoes and hurricanes- there's not a thing wrong with that

I would say what the Father has already said. "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that who so ever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world: but the the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemn: but he that believeth not is condemned already".

Exactly right, Pharisee!

This man being talked about is an ordained minister of WHAT????
---Jack on 6/8/06

That is witchcraft praying --- trying to control things through prayer. I don't blame you for getting out of there -- I think I would have done the same thing. I do think that you should try and speak to him and tell him the truth, that it is wrong what he is doing.
