Didn't Jesus say he had come to bring a sword, and that we had to choose between our families and Him. Didn't he say that anybody who had given up families, mothers, fathers, brothers or sisters, for his sake would be rewarded in Heaven. When Jesus says through John in Revelation 'Come out of her, My People', He knows that coming out of false religions (RCC and the whore's many children) may well mean severing relationships that we cherished.

Dear UKWoman,

You are absolutely right! I apologize for any offense that my comment may have caused, it certainly was not my intent.
---HappyLDS on 10/7/08

How dare anyone assume that the only happy and well balanced families are those of christians...such arrogance takes my breath away.
---UKWoman on 9/30/08

I lived among the Mormons in Salt Lake City for several years and I can state that their family life is not any better than Christians.

Here is also a little info for you, Utah, which is primarily Mormon, has the highest rate of depression in the nation. They also have a high rate for illicit drug usage, prescription drug abuse, child abuse and suicide.

Do some research.

The LDS are very family oriented - members are counselled not to over extend themselves and their children in extra curricular activities. We are counselled to have Family Home Evenings - nothing is scheduled within the church for Monday nights as this is reserved for family time. We are told to pray together daily, share as many meals as possible, simple things that anyone can do. I don't know if we have the "best" families - I'm sure that there are great families outside of our faith as well. I will say that we believe that the family is our strength against a troubled world - our physical family as well as our church family.

Joh 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see, and that they which see might be made blind.

So, blind yourself! And Forgive!

Joh 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it, and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

Now! Hear, believe and understand!

1Jn 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
1Jn 4:21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

So, are you a liar?

From whence comes your data? I KNOW you aren't talking about my family.

Did you know a Christian family or two that were compromised?
Or Maybe you didn't consider that better for the wrong reason (fear of rejection by God) is not better?

1Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

`And please stop calling polygamist Saints Mormons... ---Nancy on 11/15/07

For you this is a problem, but not for the polygamists. They group themselves under the FLDS banner. Perhaps a better name would be FMormons.

You tell us which name is best, but you should keep the name "Mormon" in the description, for that is what they are.

For only Mormons make the distinction between LDS and RLDS. You each call the other apostate, but they are still Mormons to us.

Andrea, having a neurological disorder (which depression is) is not a sign of a bad family, nor is a foreclosed mortgage--it's just a sign of not having enough money.

And while there are acknowledged polygamists in Utah, they are NOT members of the LDS(Mormon)church.

And please stop calling polygamist Saints Mormons. You wouldn't call Catholics Lutherans, would you? (Not implying anything about either, gentle blogger, just using as a metaphor.)
---Nancy on 11/15/07

Andrea: Mormons are Christians worshipping God the best way theyve been led. Yes, they have many doctrines, as Catholics, that clearly deviate from God's Word. God asks us to teach them in all humility showing them the errors right from the Bible. "Come out of her MY PEOPLE" Yes, God has children fooled into false practice and calls them out through His servants, His Word and His Spirit. Marie Osmond stands a Christian example amongst the sensuality that shows up even in dancing with the stars.

Nancy by law they are allowed one wife by doctrine they would be encouraged to have many many wives (Joseph 33, B Young 50).
There are today in Utah over 60,000 practicing polygamists - thank you Joseph Smith.

highest rate of depression in the country
highest rate of mortgage foreclosures in the country
does not speak of happy families
---Andrea on 11/13/07

Mormons ARE Christian. They believe in Christ.

They have good family lives because they put effort into having them--they spend time with their children, they live frugal lives so that money worries are minimal, and they participate in family-friendly activities like the Boy Scouts.

And FYI, Mormons are allowed only one wife (At a time. Widowers are allowed to remarry.)It's the old-style fundamentalist Saints that sometimes have more than one.

NOT the same group at all.
---Nancy on 11/12/07

They have a very complicated system of keeping everything a secret - it is only beginning to come out. Can you imagine a man that marries 50 women - would have any respect for young girls.
JSmith married a 14 yr old.
Utah has double the use of anti-depressants bc they hold everything in
---Andrea on 11/12/07

It is impossible for Mormons to have a better family life as they are a cult.
---Helen_5378 on 4/26/07

Do they? Is John Smith the perfect example who had several wives and over 50 children?
---Steve on 4/26/07

Our Lord said a man's enemies would be those of his own household. Even Absalom tried to take David's kingdom and defiled his concubines. Abraham sent away Hagar and Ishmael after the child of the flesh mocked the child of promise. The goody-goody family doctrines are going to condemn some on judgement day when they've made gods out of their children and put them before the Lord. We're blessed if our children love the Lord but it shouldn't be used to gauge Christianity or any church's worth.

Not sure if mormons have better families.I only know that a spiritual living, walking, talking,DOING,SAVED MAN OR WOMAN has a better life .Christ said those who giveup their family for his sake are blessed.this means family members who just refuse to be saved.once saved your real family is the church, fellow believers.
---tom2 on 6/25/06

the Christian life is not just about what's on earth. Paul said that if his hope was only in this life, he was man most miserable. Polygamy was one of their embraced doctrines.Read about their explaination of blood attonment ! or their avenging angles. How about their holy underwear? They also teach that Jesus and lucifer were brothers! These are doctrines of devils, not Jesus...I know several people who are lost, but seem to have decent families, but it's definately not due to satan!
---david on 6/9/06

They have a better family structure yes, but does not mean they're happy.I know of an LDS family(proper name instead of Mormons)that the Husband belittles his wife & uprooted her from her family while pregnant with baby #5 just to live with his parents out of State! Some LDS families are happy some are not, this goes for anyone LDS or non-lds.
---candice on 6/9/06

It is impossible for anyone to have a good family life unless they are born-again and obeying Jesus and what He says in His word. It is easy to claim this as the Mormons do, but there can be no fruit without the Lord.

a mormon does not have a better life than me.I am born again with a mansion waiting. I have peace that passeth all understanding and God does take care of his own. There is no better life than that.
