Daily. 2 Chapters on my own, Genesis to Rev. Which Leviticus is a killer. I took a course of Leviticus from a Scholar which helped. Telling us how God wants to be involve in the smallest details of lives. The other Scriptures are read through the Divine Office (Offical readings of the RCC of Psalms chapters/every 4 weeks all the Psalms are read. Plus, readings/NT.)3 to 7 chapters in Morning and Evening Prayers. This is neat for us because all RCC are reading the same Scripture Prayers in the world. Unity.

I don't only read the Bible, I do Indepth Bible Study every day for at least 5 hours per day. There is only one way that we can get to know God and that is by studying His Word. The more you study the more you will get to know Him 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved of God.

moderator, your being so kind,I wonder if it,s best since apparently many here don, it much.

Rding your Bible teaches you what to pray. Often many people pray prayers that go no farther than their house tops because they do not know what the Bible teaches or says. You have to read your Bible to become a "true" know it all. Joy9988

I think alot of people should read less bible and take more time to pray and seek the lord.
Too many know it alls and too few men of faith.

I read the Bible often. I have read it as a book, and as parts. I have read the Gospels many times on their own and hear the Bible in the cycles through the Mass. I also serve as a reader in my parish so reading scripture is more than just a past time for me, but I do it for spiritual food as well. There is no greater book.

You mean there's more to LIFE?

I Never knew that, still don't.

TS your kinda quick to judge aren't you. You have not walked in anyones shoes but your owen and to tell someone what they have or haven't read in The Word , well that's pretty arrogant. Also a sin. You are not to judge someone elses walk with The Lord . If they only read 2 scriptures a week or 10 chapters an hour you don't know if The Holy Spirit has talked to them or not.We are on our own walk and should uplift each other not tear each other down no matter were we are with Jesus.

I read the bible every day for almost a year and then for a few weeks i didnt. I started to feel really sad and couldnt understand why. Then i picked up the good book again and when i awoke the next morning the dark cloud had lifted off my head.

Not enough, no matter how much, for how long, or how brief a period of time. It's never enough. I always hunger for the word of God. I wish every church service was bible study.

I read the Bible often, I also am reading the 'lost books of the Bible' and the Nag Hammadi, and the Dead sea Scrolls. I contrast and compare, its an ongoing process.
(Loree; you throw in the towel?)

I'm like Donna, I read every day and devote 2 to 3 days a week to deeper study. I also study when involved in a specific discussion. I never snatch verses. One of the reasons I like CN so much is because it keeps me in the Word more. Praise God!

I read when I can & that's a lot. I prepare for Sundays since we already have outlines for the month & I also get ready for Wed evenings so I am constintly searching the bible.

I "read" my bible every night. However, I "study" the word every weekend. I use Sunday's after church to Study a few chapters. Start with Genesis and see how God works through the lives of people throughout the entire Old Testament, then see how it's fulfilled in the New Testament. You will be blessed your socks off.

Many here read only what they WANT to read, and throw out the rest- namely the ENTIRE old testament. I wouldn't be surprised if we were to find some of them lining the bottom of their birdcages with Genesis-Malachi, just like discarded yesterdays newspapers. They give it about as much respect.

Not enough ... it never can be.
