144,000 Jews Or Jehovah Witnesses

The Jehovah witness teach 144,000 of their members are the 144,000 spoken of in the Bible in Revelation. Yet the Bible says, that these 144,000 spoken of in the Bible are all Jewish. So is this teaching by the Jehovah witnesses totally false?

When Christ returns all the saved, BOTH 144,000" and the great multitude/crowd are going to be taken to heaven.

Great Multitude/crowd: Rev.7:9-5 are "BEFORE THE THRONE" and "SERVING GOD IN HIS TEMPLE".

Rev.19:1 This great crowd are "IN HEAVEN" singing a song of "SALVATION".

Finally both groups, God and the Lamb(Christ) will all return to this renewed earth in the Holy City, Rev.21:1-3. "The tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them... and God HIMSELF shall be with them."

Let us all plan to be with them!

It's the Jewish people. They will come out of the tribulation time.

The j - witness people Is another Man - made concept that came from here, 2nd.Cor.11 v's 14 - 15, along with All the other Man - mades.
---Lawrence on 8/13/10

There is no where in the bible that stated the 144,000 people are the Jehovah Witnesses. My advise to people is to flee from their teachings as far as you can. The bible says we ( the Christians ) will be persecuted for the name of Christ,"NOT JEHOVAH'S" Mt.24:9 LK.21:12,17, Jn.15:21 Acts 9:16. The Christians are the witnesses for Christ. Acts 4:12 "NOT JEHOVAH'S."
Please note: Jehovah's witness won't ever tells you everything that is behind their religion. I suggest that you investigate the history of Jehova's witnesses, their false prophecies before you even consider talking to them. How can you identify a false prophet? please read Deu.18:21-22
---Pastor_James on 9/7/09

Ran into one yesterday while witnessing. I just turned away and continued on, a trainee said, well, that's awfully short. To which I said, are welcome to talk to him to your blue in the face. But my experience tells me that it's a waste of time. Mr. Russell, one of their founders, started a cult, and it remains a cult today.

absolutely, they also teach that God called them only to preach the truth..they are not allowed to accept invitations from friends to go to friends church, and they are not allowed to read other magazines except their own watchtower things. they teach that they all dont go to heaven but only the 144,000 annointed ones from their church..I guess the rest will be un annointed lol
---operator on 4/20/08

I also believe that the saved ones will be able to speak up on behalf of those who were sinners but who were good people. That would explain why Jesus says that the man who gives a glass of water to a prophet will not lose his reward. Conversely those who mistreat Christians are in for a thin time.
---frances008 on 4/19/08

It is 12,000 not 1200 from each tribe. Added to these is a vast uncountable multitude who come through the tribulation.
---frances008 on 4/18/08

How could it be anything but what the Bible says it is?

JW are false teachers, even re-wrote the Bible to suit their ideals.

What's further JW are led by false prophets, predicted the end of times (I think it was 1975) and obviously it didn't happen...

What's next purple nikes and cool aid?
---Pharisee on 4/18/08

The Jewish remnant was saved out of the first Church the first Church was Jewish they were all
martyred by either Jews or Romans, No person will be saved outside of the Son of God Jesus Christ, Jew or Gentile, there is no other salvation, and no other way to God, to believe any thing contrary makes the whole plan of salvation void and the cross of none effect.
---exzucuh on 8/30/07

Of all the cults these are probably the saddest people I've ever met. They never know if they're going to heaven and they think Jesus and satan are brothers. So they don't have the right Jesus and its not the gospel of the Bible so they're not even Christian ---so sad.
---Andrea on 8/29/07

The 144,000 are 1200 from each of the 12-tribes of Israel. They are all Jews. This has nothing to do with the church.
---Rickey on 6/7/07

The 144,000 is a symbolic number..if you read on it will say ; 'THen I heard a multitude etc" These are the ones redeemed from the earth..the faithful believers, who will make it on that day...
---jana on 6/7/07

The 144,000 are all Christian Jews. I could tell you who they are and who they represent, but, from past experience, I know you wouldn't believe me if I did.
---Debbie on 6/6/07

The 144,000 comprise twelve thousand high priests, representing each of the twelve tribes of Israel according to the scriptures. It is not 144,000 righteous members of any one church or denomination. God is no respector of persons and everyone will be judged accordingly. There have been billions of people on the earth. millions living in harmony with Jesus Christ, praying always, repenting daily, and live Christ like lives in fear and trembling before him. why would they be denied God's kingdom.
---ashley on 6/6/07

this is a symbolic number which represents 12*12*1000, the 1000 represents uncountable in ancient writings, for example the 1000 year Rein of Christ refers to eternity. so the 144,000 is large group of people that are holy to continue the work of God.
---Jared on 6/5/07

Problem with most of the thoeries here is, You say the 144k cannot be Jehovahs witnesses based on the fact most are being blind to the overall picture. ( as usual ) The reason the 144 k are all Jehovahs people is simply this, IF YOU KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT JEHOVAH, YOU ARE THEN, HIS WITNESS. That applied for Noah, Job, Moses, Ezekial.... on down to the present set of Witnesses. Short version.

I agree with Kay in regard to this. These are Jewish virgin men residing in Israel(Revelation 7:2-8), they are set apart, sanctified by God, and will be raptured during the Middle of the 7- Year Great Tribulation period(Revelation 14:1-5). God Bless.
---Mrs._Morgan on 10/27/06

"A:The answer is indicated by the fact that, after mention of the defenante number 144,000, rev 7:9 refers to "a great crowd, which no man can number." count..."

144,000 is a literal number but its not referring to Jehovah's Witnesses. (1)these are from the 12 tribes of Judea (2)they are MEN (3) they are virgins (4)the setting is around the time of the Tribulation period IN JERUSALEM.
---Kay on 10/27/06

The "great crowd" has NOTHING to do with these 144,000 virgin men. The "great crowd" represents those who received Jesus during the Tribulation. Just because the "great crowd" is mentioned directly after John mentions the 144,000 doesn't mean that the "great crowd" IS the 144,000. John even says in Revelation 7:9 "AFTER THIS (after seeing the 144,000) I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number..."
---Kay on 10/27/06

Ulrika. Only the tribe of Judah are called jews. The name stated with him. Look up the word jews in the strongs or any good concordance.

Jehovah's False Witnesses USED to say that Armageddond would come when they reached 144,000 members. When they got their 144,001st, they had to change their tune, and that's when they came up with the "Jonadabs" who can only hope for second-class salvation.

Judge Rutherford, their 2nd president, 100 years ago was saying "Millions now living shall never die." I don't think there are a million centenarians today.
---Jack on 6/15/06

Once a JW came to my door, and I simply showed them how their own mistranslation of the Bible contradicted them.

I never heard from them again.
---Jack on 6/15/06

The Bible also states that those 144,000 are men that "have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins". While the JW HQ has a list of names, most likely all of them would fail as they have families. It is all a big JOKE!
---lee on 6/15/06

Joseph, Juda is only one of the 12 tribes of Israel, there was 12000 from each tribe. Revelation 7:4-8. Jacob who's name was changed to Israel had 12 sons. Genesis 32:27-28 These are the names of the children of Israel. Exodus 1:1-5 They are the beginning of the Jewish nation.

candice, I had a JW work for me last year and she believed that the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Ghost) was non-existent. So why would we believe anything else they have to say if in fact they admit they don't even believe in the Trinity?
---Donna9759 on 6/13/06

According to Rev. 7:5 only twelve thousand of these are from the tribe of Judah. There are one hundred and thirty two thousand more. And it says nothing about the religion of Judaism.
---joseph on 6/13/06

Candice how can you continue to be blinded?
Weren't you following Mormons a few years back?

I ask in my heart what's next, and my frustration is INSTANTLY rebuked; be it ever so gently, and do you know how I know this is the Holy Spirit I recieved? Because it brought me to have peace with you while I was yet aggrivated in my own righteousness...Before I could type 80, I was corrected.
Is this your inheritance?
---Pharisee on 6/12/06

Candice the only closed minded person you have to worry about is yourself.
These 144,000 are male born Jewish virgins that preach the gospel during the tribulation.
If you or any of your group thinks they are one of these people tell me how they know and what tribe are they from.
I warned you about two years ago how you would be pulled away from God's Truth and you chose the JWs anyway.
I guess you think you are one of the "meek."

It is totally false on one premise alone -- the Jehovah's Witnesses are not born-again.
---Helen_5378 on 6/12/06

The book of Revelation plainly teaches us whom the 144,000 will be. It is of the 12 tribes of Israel. J.W. teachings are false.
---Rebecca_D on 6/12/06

Revelations14:4, 144000 are all virgins ,the first fruits unto God and unto the Lamb. This indicates they won't be from any modern day church but from the early work of Christ and the Apostles, since they are the "firstfruits" produced from the planting of the Word of God. This settles it,they will not come out of JW or any Church denomination now, but have already been decided centuries ago. The Bible warns some will believe a lie and be damned. Don't believe denomination, believe Bible.

Revelation 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads, 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. This is during the tribualation. There are others saved then too. Rev. 7:9,14

Please before posting do your research from the congr yourself. I have the bible & the studyaides here & know not al ljw's will be al lthe 144,000, maybe some already ,but I like comming here visiting friends, but if there are too many close minded people then I will decline & not return.
---candice on 6/12/06

cout.. If the number 144,000 were not literal it would lack meaning as a contrast to "the great crowd".Viewing the number as literial agrees with Jesus' statement at Mat 22:14 regarding the Kingdom of the Heavens: "there are many invited, but FEW chosen" pt 3
---candice on 6/12/06

Since the bible says to test the spirits &this question refers to what Jw's teach lets look at their RS(Reasoning Scriptures) w/ the scriptures from the bible, then judge for yourself:
RSPg 167 Q:Is the number 144,000 merely symbolic?
A:The answer is indicated by the fact that, after mention of the defenante number 144,000, rev 7:9 refers to "a great crowd, which no man can number." count...
---candice on 6/12/06

Since I attend the kingdom hall & know what is being taught there, yes some of the 144,000 was chosen before the congr. even formed & yet today the 144,000 are being added still & not ALL are in only this congregation!

Yes it is false. The Jehovah Witnesses are completely wrong in this. The Holy Bible cleary says it's the 12000 Jews of the 12 Jewish Tribes. Also, please understand that these are Jews who convert to Christianity over the course of time since Jesus'and return. There is no scripture that says it will happen at one time. Remember that the Jews were the first Christian converts, not the Gentiles.
