My youngest son has a craven for lemons. He eats a dozen a day. Is this normal or is this being caused by a witch doctor?

I agree with T.S.
Be ye kind to one another is what the word says.
Telling them to not worry about eating lemons is one thing Jack but being rude about it is another.
BTW, you should care what nonbelievers think of you if your a christian because your words can turn them off to Jesus forever.

As a former dental hygienist, let me just say that this will DESTROY his teeth! Careful!

Well at least you don't have to worry about him getting Scurvy!

And BTW, your ATTITUDE is what is inconsistent with Christianity. Read the 13th ch of 1 Corinthians

You can speak the truth without being hateful about it.

I agree with Daphne and a couple of others who mention his diet. Does he eat healtily and take vitamin suppliments? It sounds like he's missing a nutrient he needs.

TS--I don't care what you think. I've seen entirely too much superstition here that is totally inconsistent with Christianity. This is one example. The many blogs about 666-ophobia is another.

The theme that runs all through the Gospels is "Fear not!" Not "Fear witch doctors."

God has NOT given us a spirit of fear, but of a sound mind.

Be prayerful, and understand
too much of anything may not be good if it's not complimenting a balanced diet. Assuming your son is enjoying a balanced diet, he may still have some unseen nutritional needs. To ease your mind try taking him to his pediatrician for a complete checkup, and ask about a counseltation with a nutritionist for your son.
It may be that eatinf lemons all day is fine, and if not you'll have a heads up on how to change his current diatary habits.

Jack your first statement was extremely rude.

Cashua: I don't think that making someone O.D. on lemons would be of interest to anyone involved in witchcraft. Lemons ARE good for you as stated by others on here, however, the only problem with them is they will eat the enamel off his teeth eating them straight like that.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe your son just likes lemons? Kids go through phases and cravings in their food all the time.

There's also a little girl in the children's novel JOHNNY TREMAIN--from a strong Puritan family--who couldn't hold down much of her food, but did great with lemons and limes.

I'm more concerned about a child being raised by such superstitious, ignorant, and fearful parents who believe in witch doctors than I would be about the lemons.

Actually, lemonade (or lemon juice and water) is very good for preventing kidney stones.

I like iced tea "with a side order of lemons" and in the hot desert summer, I like more lemon than other times of the year.

There is some good news that accompanies his habit. I have heard that eating lemons can be a protective measure against stomache and intestinal viruses that cuse vomiting and diarrhea.

My entire uncle's family does this. They live in Salem Illinois. Here's an added benefit that your son will derive from this. He is not fat now and he never will be fat as long as he continues to eat lemons. Are these great words of wisdom?NO!! Just statement of facts that I am aware off.

Sounds more to me like he may have a vitamin deficiency or something along those lines - that he is craving citrus. Perhaps a visit to your family doctor is something you should consider.

Where do you live? New Orleans? That sounds like he is doing something that will eat his stomach up.

It sounds like your water source does not have enough alkaline in it. Lemons are high in alkalinity and the more the body gets alkaline, the more it craves it. If possible, Get your water source tested. That would be my first step. Eating lots of lemons are not harmful. And craving should stop once his alkaline level in his body chemistry is raised to proper level.
