Nothing like a Holy Ghost party! No drinking and empty lies, promises, low lights! Nothing artificial allowed. Moving and swaying by the Holy Spirit and with the Holy Spirit. All real and very, very powerful. Nothing can compare to it. The greatest hangover, you can imagine. Try it sometimes. You might like it.

I believe you can.

I have been in my car, listening to my Gospel music and just having a good time when the Holy Ghost in me just Rises up, and I just can't contain it.
I believe if you are around like minded people in Christ, yes you can.
I say Have a Holy Ghost party! Rejoice in the Lord. God should always get the glory and we should always praise God this way. Even if you are going through a hard time in your life. A little Holy Spirit uplifting will renew your strength and you can continue on in the Lord.

I party in the Holy Ghost. Ain't no party like a Holy Ghost party, cause a Holy Ghost party don't stop. Any other partying other than that is sin.

I go to two Christian singles groups that have about 3 partys a month. One is a pot-luck, and it is at a different house every month. We usually play games too like Taboo or Outburst or Scattergories. Then we have the big party events like the major football games and Christmas and New Years Eve. At Christmas, we have a White Elephant/Yankee Swap where people get very greedy for the best gifts!

I am always hosting parties at my house. Picnics, parties, holidays, birthdays, any excuse to have a party. No alcohol, no smoking, just food, fun and fellowship.

I enjoy being around people who are able to have fun and to eat. I visit with people that don't share my Christian values. They drink and "party". If they are when I happen to visit, some are offended by my presence. They apologize after every curse word. Some are paranoid because I don't do what they do if its against the law... because the Bible says we are to obey the law of the land we live in unless it goes against God's laws. So, my idea of partying has changed and yes I love to party.

truth ... I am glad to have this opportunity to chat to you. Firstly, I am glad to know you no longer "follow the alcohol & clubs" I'm sorry you did that for 25 years & indeed it must take a strong person (with the strength of God with you) to break away from that.
But what makes you say you are wiser than me, and that I am weak?

Also, while Jesus did befriend and help prostitutes, tax collectors etc., I don't believe that means He "partied" with them. In some cases, these people came to see Him and hear Him preach. I don't think it is appropriate for a Christian to be seen at a club or party of unbelievers. There is real fellowship to be found with your brothers and sisters in Christ. It is hard to convince young people that a Christian party is fun, but, guess what, burning in hell won't be much fun either!!!

If a born-again Christian goes to a ball game or concert where beer is sold, they may have an opportunity to be a witness to someone who sees that they do not drink, curse etc. However, a Christian who goes to a party or club where there is drinking, drugs and sexually-charged music and dancing, it is going to damage their witness. Unbelievers will be quick to say they are hypocrites by being there.

had the same experience as helen.. when i was born again the desire to go out drinking and being promiscuous passed away completely.. How thankful i am for our Father!

Yes! Monthly Birthday "eating" Party with the colleagues in the department. It is not that big. It is just an hour and thirty minutes of eating lunch together in the department. Everybody is busy and living away from each other so we have our lunch during one day (workday) in a month to celebrate birthdays.

Allan8869 of uk, Alcohol causes many problems, it causes much to fall from the lips that offends and lesds to much hurt. It makes men foolish and it can bring you down. It takes a strong person to avoid it. No I'm not weak, just wiser than you. I followed the alcohol and clubs for 35 years and I know first hand what it does and don't do. The desire left me when I became a christian. Alan you are weak and I hope you grow more as a christian.

When Jesus saved me He took the desire to party right away from me.

How frightened and fearful are some people! Do you all have such low expectations and opinions of yourselves? Why do you nelieve that partying will lead to all those bad things? Why do yuo assume that alcohol will turn us all inot alcoholics?
Is it because you are so weak yourselves, and trust yourselves so little?

Since when did the word 'party' mean clubbing, drinking, doing drugs, going home with and sleeping with whoever picks you up at the bar? It never meant any of that to me, even before I became a Christian.
---Mac on 8/12/06

NO I don't party as a christian. Partying is of the world . It can and does lead to sin ,drinking, fights . And don't let anyone tell you "Well Jesus turned water into Wine" It was grapejuice ,Our Lord would never give us something He Knows will cause us to sin and become Alcoholics !

Yes. Not going to clubs or drinking, etc. But I do party/have fun with my friends. As a matter of fact, we are supposed to meet at the lake down the street from our campus & have fun.
---Rickey on 6/17/06

There is nothing wrong with innocent amusement and merrymaking.

Remember, Jesus's first miracle was at a PARTY where He made several hundred gallons of wine (not grape juice) when they had run out.

But the cardinal virtue of Temperance says we go just so far with proper pleasures, and not to excess.
---Jack on 6/17/06

When Jesus saved me the desire to party (and everything else worldly) completely went. It was a supernatural transformation. I am now a new creation in Christ, old things have PASSED AWAY (that is they died) behold EVERYTHING IS NEW. The mere thought of partying to me now is just so foreign ... I actually hate the thought.
---Helen_5378 on 6/17/06

Define PARTY. If you're referring to the traditional meaning of the word (clubbing, drinking, doing drugs, going home with and sleeping with whoever picks you up at the bar, etc......) the question doesn't even warrant asking.
