this is like asking the irs and the federal reserve bank to play fair. I could have said all of the courts and attorneys too, but one or two just might do this. Hey, taking the step to follow what Jesus says is risking having Satan coming down on you like a ton of bricks! (And I do know all about this!)

It is somewhat naive to expect the Father of Lies to play fair. If he can lie, cheat, and steal to further his ends, he'll happily do so.

satan wants to ruin the testimony of christians. That is why he is running to and fro seeking whomever he can devour. Don't let him hinder your walk and talk.

Satan doesn't intervene, we are not meant to follow all works of Jesus or we would not be mortal. We are to fail, and rather than accepting this as part of us, we choose to summon a supernatural "demon" that causes this failure rather than ourselves. If we were perfect, we'd be God, but we mortals and unable to achieve that infallability no matter how much we try.

I just tell the devil nowadays that I couldn't care less what he does because he is going into the bottomless pit for a thousand years and then into the Lake of Fire for eternity, and that nothing that he does can separate me from God's love... and God never changes His mind devil.

Satan,The Ironic thing is that satan today in the life of a truly saved person has no power.he lies, and deceives many into believing he does.temtation might be his biggest tool.

Satan has been doing his dirty work since he was cast out of heaven many years ago. He is good at what he does, but greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. God uses him to make overcomers out of His children. Jesus over came the world and the flesh and Satan. Satan is defeated and he knows it. He also knows his time is short and he is doing all that he can to discourage God's children. Everything works together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.

BTW, Cindi--of COURSE it's not fair.

Since when (at least after his fall) has Satan played fair?

You didn't actually think he WOULD ever play fair, did you? :-)

An old wise man once said the devil doesn't "want" anything or anybody, because to want something could be the beginning of love.

All the devil "wants" is to keep God from having you.

It all stems from the fall of Lucifer, an angel, who proclaimed his ambition to "ascend into heaven...exalt my throne above the stars of be like the most High" Isaiah 14:13-14. We now call him Satan and he is very jealous of anything that belongs to God, including God's children. He is still trying to usurp God's power and authority. He's doomed to failure in the end, but remains a trouble-maker and liar. However, if we resist him, he will flee. James 4:7
