Soul Winning And Finances

After helping a person become a soulwinner, this person begins to spend money and effort to help any way he can. Had this problem before, at which time I always backed away, does anyone want to give me advice about what to do this time? My ministry is very small just myself. What is your advice?

For example; he has had some cards printed up and laminated, for our use he says. OK- so far so good. He has not yet offered me money he probably will if he follows the pattern that others have followed. There is something basic in mankind that makes him want to do something in return for anything that is done for him. We as human beings have trouble accepting a gift, any gift. We will almost fight to repay for a gift.

Moderator - If someone is giving you materials to hand out, that is 100% fine.

You are blessed. However, pray about everything, my friend.

I understand that it feels funny/odd to take something when you are used to giving and are more comfortable in that role. However, you can actually rob people of their ability serve God by refusing a gift that God has laid upon their heart to give. If you can't use the money(which I find hard to believe:), then you must know of someone who can. If that person feels a burden to give to you, then I say 'take it' and find a place to use it for Gods work.:) Surely it will be anointed money!:)

If this person wants to give an offering to you. That's fine. Love gifts are a way to show your love for someone who is doing the work of God. Perhaps this person wants to bless you in this way.My ministry is small also. People give me money on the streets from time to time and I always take it. I let them know they don't have to do this but if they insist, I take it.

If I understand you correctly Mima, I take it to mean that someone you have helped now wants to help you? I'd advise you to pray about it -- maybe the Lord is trying to show you something or deal with you on something. It is Jesus' church, not ours.

Mima, do you have a fear that if you accept his gifts he will want to be an integral part of your ministry?
From what you describe, I would just thank him and continue on. Just maybe THAT is his ministry, giving to others. God bless you and your work for the Lord bro.

Mima there is a saying "It is more blessed to give than to receive." and that is very true but we also have to learn how to accept gifts from others so that they can also be blessed in giving to us. We cannot always be the givers. I know what you mean though because when anyone gives me anything or does something for me I'm quickly thinking "What can I now do for that person in return for what they have done for me?" and we really shouldn't be doing that.

Mima ... are you fearful that if you accept his help and gifts, you will lose some of the control over your ministry? Perhaps you want to make sure it stays "very small, just yourself"
Maybe God wants you to realise more that it is not your ministry that wins people, but God working through you.
Let God be in control of what happens

Mima - Do you have a problem accepting gifts of any kind? Just a thought.
