Get your facts straight. God does not send anyone to hell. He clearly gives us a choice: Heaven or Hell. We decide. The time is now to get right with God not after we die. It will be too late. This is why the catholic church is damned. They teach a lot of lies and untruths that are not biblical. They are way off base and have led many trusting and ill-taught people to hell.

Gordon, are you suggesting that the judgement occurs at death?
---Ryan_Z on 2/15/08

Ryan Z, The Hell referred to here is the only REAL Hell in existence. It's that STINKING PLACE where the lost souls now reside, imprisoned IN TORMENT. Also, needing to be mentioned, is the Lake of Fire. The ETERNALLY BURNING AND TORMENTING LAKE to which those in Hell, past, present and future, will go to after YAHUSHUA reigns on Earth for 1,000 Years. The Hebrew and Greek words are the Greek and Hebrew words for what we refer to in English as HELL and the LAKE OF FIRE. Things have not changed.
---Gordon on 2/15/08

God doesnt send them there. They plunge themselves in too the fire of hell because they can't stand to be in the presence of total goodness, truth and light.

God doesnt send them---they choose to go there.
---janet on 2/14/08

Sherrill, You are right, except that, GOD, indeed, is the One Who sends people to Hell. It is HIS Judgement and Punishment on the Wicked. But, as you mentioned, each and every human being makes their own decision to end up in Hell, but, GOD definitely sends them there, by His Angelic Escorts no doubt. And He's not a "Tyrant" for it, as some would try to accuse. He's provided Salvation for them, but they refuse it. GOD is simply giving them "what they want".
---Gordon on 2/14/08

Which hell are we taliking about?
---Ryan_Z on 2/13/08

God is a righteous God, and his holiness, we do not understand. He has no sin in him, and he hates sin. He love the sinner. He offers a plan of salvation, sending his Son Jesus to redeem us from our sinful condition. Sin will not enter into heaven, if we plan on going to heaven, then, we must be redeemed. Without Jesus, there is nothing that will allow us to escape the punishment for our sins.Sin must be atoned for, Jesus is that atonement, without him, we will be left out.
---Gayla on 2/13/08

storm,by gods own word we choose by our free will.Gods word says I set before you life and death choose.God is love ,and he loves us all thats why he sent jesus ,so we could choose life by accepting dear the truth is we actually choose our own destiny.thank god we have a choice.
---tom2 on 2/13/08

God is Forgiving and also Just, that's why He can send people to Hell. If you murdered someone several years ago, but not since that time, and were never caught until now, should the Judge of your state let you off with no punishment (because he is forgiving and just). That would be crazy right? God is the same way. He can NOT let you off with no punishment from sin just because he is forgiving and just.
---Leslie on 2/13/08

GOD is Pure Love. He's also Perfect in HOLINESS, JUSTICE and WRATH. Because of His Sinless and Perfect Nature, He MUST CONDEMN SIN. We humans, as fallen, sinful creatures, do not see Holiness and Sin as GOD does. We're so USED to coming short of GOD's Holy Expectations. We cherish certain "private" and pleasurable sins and it BLINDS us from seeing these things as GOD does. Our sins don't seem so bad to us, but, to GOD, they STINK. Even our "good works" are as FILTHY RAGS in His Sight.
---Gordon on 2/13/08

It is not God that sends people to hell it is of peoples choosing to not want to surrender their life to the Lord. The Bible says he is not willing that any should perish that is why he died on the cross to redeem us from hell. But it is up to us to chose it says choose you this day whom you will serve.
---Sherrill on 2/12/08

Besides, if you owned a retail business, would you hire clerks who has a history of stealing? Before the Israelites took possession of God's land, didn't God perform ethnic cleansing? Why?

There are two resurrections. At the first resurrection, God wants the best of the best Christians to go to heaven. At the second resurrestion, God will judge those who are borderline Christians to fill the New Earth.

queen: "...but I died..."

You did not die, queen. Medical science has not figured out what time death comes. They rely on observation and machines that do not tell what real death is.

Besides, the Bible says that when you die, you have no thoughts, never again will you have a part in anything that happens under the world. Ecclesiastes 9:5-6,10

Well, queen I don't believe that for a minute.
However you need to know that I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour 40 years ago. I am headed to Heaven, but now I know that God is not so sadistic that he would torture people and could stand by and watch them scream while burning for eternity. I would be sad in Heaven if that were the case. My view of him would change.
---Mickey on 12/3/07

Queen there is only one way to Heaven: Belief in Jesus, right? I don't think it also says: Unless thou believe in the firey pits of Hell and that millions of men, women and children will be sadisticly tortured forever in the flames, thou shalt not be saved.
Hell is myth Queen, just like your visits there. It is all in your head. Wrong words were used. It simply was not in the Bible until it was translated into English and allowed to grow with the myth of Dante's Inferno. It was all made up.
---Mickey on 12/3/07

Hey Mickey..hate to break the news to ya..but I died..on March 25th of this year..I was standing beside the God of the Universe, and he took me and showed me Hell. I was dead..for I feel sorry for you because in hell..there are no ATHEISTS..If you continue in your will spend an eternity in a place that you do not believe exists being tormented by things that you do not believe exist. I will pray for you. In Jesus name!
---queen on 12/3/07

Mickey, by the way..the lord so graciously allowed me to go to Heaven for 15 is so sad to think that you will not be with the rest of the saints..unless you repent. In Jesus name. And can say what ever you choose to..I went to Heaven and CAN NEVER EVER CHANGE THAT..EVER!!!!!!!! In his service.

Sheol, in the Old Testament, has no reference whatever to the doctrine of eternal hell It signifies simply the state of the dead, the invisible world, without regard to their goodness or badness, their happiness or misery. The Old Testament doctrine of hell as we know it, therefore, is not the doctrine of endless punishment. It is not revealed in the Law of Moses. It is not revealed in the whole of the Old Testament. There is no such place as eternal hell.
---Mickey on 12/3/07

God is a righteous judge. Remember God sends noone to hell....people send themselves by the choice they make. God in his love sent his son to earth to endure the shame of the cross so that we may have the choice to make.
---david on 12/2/07

We serve a loving and forgiving God and He does not send people to hell. It is the person's choice whether they will recieve Jesus Christ and the gift of Eternal life,or whether they will reject our Lord and Savior. No one should blame God, for He gave us a choice. It is up to us what we choose, eternal life or eternal hell. God Bless friends!

God never wanted to send anybody to hell, it was meant for The devil and his angels, not for us that is why he sent His Son to die so we can be saved from going to hell, but some refused to hear the truth and be saved by Jesus so it is those that end up in hell fault not God's.

God does not send people to hell. Hell is just another word for the grave, the ground.
And hell is a lake of fire, but if Hell is
an eternal flame, how can that be, since at
the last days, Death & Hades (the common grave), will be thrown into the lake of fire. And all the rebel angels, and the devil also. Am I afraid of winding up in Hell? I hate the thought of dying, but I do
love the idea of seeing my precious Jesus.

Mickey: You have closed your eyes to the truth: that you don't want to believe that you may not make it to heaven because you don't believe that you are worthy. You are afraid that you won't make it because of your sinful nature and try to block out a hell much like the excuse of the Jahovah Witnesses.
---Steveng on 12/1/07

Many times people may say why God is doing this or doing that. How can he do or let these things happen to others and the key to the answer is this, Jesus died for us all, suffered all for us,and gave us life eternal for those who accets Jesus into their lives. God is not sending them there, they are sending themselves for denying Jesus. Its either Heaven or Hell, death or life and I choose Heaven and Life over death and Hell. May the Lord bless each and everyone thru the faith each one has in him, amen.

Whether Hell, Hades,Gehenna, everlasting torment, pit, furnace, Shoel, . It matters how you define those places, There's a possibility a particular place after death a person is in determines the final destination a state of knowledge which is where Lazarus was speaking from. Or where the Saints speak from when asking how long? It's obvious there are many places and one needs to know the differences. The final destination which is the second death is where through Christ you avoid.

I speak the truth. Many don't want the truth, they can't handle the truth, because the truth contradicts what they have come to place so much faith in. A false hope that the KJV Bible is the one and only Word of God. The truth is that the KJV and all other English bibles was corrupted with a bad translation for Hades, Sheol and Gehenna. The word Hell. The truth is the truth, no matter how much you reject it.
---mickey on 11/30/07

Mickey, I've been investigating about Hell and the Lake of Fire for almost two years now. And NONE of the Truth that I've found in the Holy Scriptures, Commentary by Biblical Teachers and Testimonies of those who the LORD took to Hell and back, NONE of these Truths line up with the vague and empty "hope" that you keep proclaming. The righteous and the unrighteous and all of their works are in the hand of God. Men do not direct the course of their lives. [ECC. 9] states. Goes on to tell us: Once the Spirit travels upward, the possibility for a man to consider his ways is over. He then meets the Soverign Judge of the Universe, and receives an infallible estimate of the profitableness of the life he has lived. For the unrepentant sinner this evaulation will launch him into an empty and hopeless eternity.

What we have here is a man that is afraid of his own 'shadows', scared to death, to use the same name for all of his postings and face the rest of us, like a man.
---Bob on 10/26/07

To all who still believe in Hell.
You are just living in fear and denial. Fear of a false doctrine erroniously added to your scriptures to scare the hell out of you and it has worked for 2000 years. Denial that someone could have corrupted your scriptures years ago.If you value Truth more than blind ignorant faith you will investigate this matter. There no longer is any reason to worry that any of your relatives are being eternally burned, screaming and weeping in hell, and all by a loving God.
---Mickey on 10/26/07

Your points are well taken.

But what we are faced here is the tendancy of people to hold to their beliefs, simply because by giving them up, other beliefs could be questioned. They fear that the fabric of their faith will become unravelled if one word of the Bible is not interpreted literally and as they believe others have for 2000 years.

This leaves them with unchangeable blind faith, and not a loving and growing faith based on the faculties of reason given to us by God.

.mickey, Recall in scripture that there was another Lazarus whom was dead for 4 days which did come back. Jesus cried with a loud voice: "Lazarus, Here present. And he that was dead came forward, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus says to them, Loose him, and let him go." John 11:43,44. Come on Guys,
Does the scripture mean nothing to you? Is the true meaning not important. If a word has come to mean something which it never was intended to mean, is that not changing the scripture. If the word hell was never, ever meant to portray an eternal burning fire in the originals, why would anyone still want to cling to that meaning. Isn't truth more important than error?
---Mickey on 10/26/07

I don't understand why anyone would want to cling so hard to this horrible doctrine.
It is against the nature of God. It is in violation of other scriptures. It was not supposed to be in the Bible at all. We can finally make a long needed correction, and fix a hellish doctrine which has been added to our scriptures, why would we not want to do that. It was wrong, it was added, it is bogus and changing it finally makes sense of other scripture, why the resistence?
---Mickey on 10/26/07

Mickey, Eccl. 9 means the "dead" know nothing in relation to their "portion of the world around them that they once knew" when they lived on the Earth. At death, one immediately goes to Heaven or Hell and no longer knows anything about what's going on ON THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH where they once lived. But, they DO know about Heaven OR Hell! You misunderstand Death. Man is made up of "spirit", "soul" and "body" (flesh-and-blood). Each dies in it's own way.
---Gordon on 10/26/07

Well exzucuh,
Now that settles it doesn't it. How can I argue with solid evidence like that. You know I will believe that when one of those out of body experiences reads the signs doctors have placed on top of their equipment for this purpose and reports back. This kind of thing goes totally against the very scripture you claim to believe. Let me see didn't Lazarus want to send someone back and God said NOT.

Mickey, Paul and the others were here to preach the Good News of Salvation, not scare us into blind obedience. They were strict at times but Heaven is our ultimate goal not Hell, so why would Peter and Paul dwell on a place we don't want to go. Jesus said it and that is all we need.

God does not send anyone to hell. You either choose to trust, and recieve His only Begotton Son, Jesus Christ, or you reject Him. Everyone is given a choice. It is not God who sends you to hell, but you yourself by the choice you make. Self is one of your worst enemies. This is the reason we need to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and to keep focused on Him. God Bless!

God doesn't send people to hell. The wicked send themselves to hell. They are evil. The hate the God. They hate his Son. They deny him and his work, his saving grace, mercy, and his Son.

Job put it this way:
Job 21:14 Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us, for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
Job 21:15 What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him.

But God's people have been chosen to salvation (2 Thes 2:13).

mickey, again, you are misunderstanding the definition of death in reference to sin. Herein is truth: sin equals death, and right equals life, but what kind of death and what kind of life, simply everlasting death and everlasting life. In otherwords there are millions of live people walking around, but they are dead and have no life in them: Jesus said, "Let the dead bury their dead", therefore the dead received from sinning is not the death as you misunderstand it to be.

Ecclesiastes 9
5For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward, for the memory of them is forgotten.
6Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished, neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.
10Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
---Mickey on 10/24/07

Ever read Ecclesiastes?
A great portion of the book concerns death. It emphatically affirms human mortality, going so far as to say that the dead in sheol know nothing. He mentions no resurrection. In fact, it is the lack of consequences after death that lead the author to advocate enjoying life while you can. A meaningless life followed by oblivion is the state of the dead (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, Genesis 3:19, Psalms 6:5, 115:17).
---Mickey on 10/24/07

Now if Gehenna or hell really reveals the terrible fact of endless punishment, how can we account for the strange silence about it by John, Paul, Peter and John the Baptist? How is it possible, if they knew its meaning, and believed it a part of Christ's teaching, that they should not have used it a hundred thousand times, instead of never using it at all, especially when we consider the horrible possibility?
---Mickey on 10/24/07

Ladies and gentlemen.
It is not the current meaning that is the most important, (except to see how a word has changed meaning nowadays). It is the original meaning of Sheol at question, and it did not mean an eternal firey pit as we know hell today. It has changed, morphed, or was added on purpose at times.
This original meaning fits the scripture in so many other places.
It was never such a thing originally. That is why it matches Genesis and other places so well. The wages of sin is death.

.mickey, If you check the etymologies of a word you can see where they are derived from. "Hell" means more than "hole", because it also has the same roots as hide and cover and dark, and hate and separate and depart and heat. And likewise "sheol" means more than a grave or "hole", because it also has the same roots as "to cut off" and shade and hades and hell.
---Eloy on 10/24/07

.mickey, the word sheol has more than one meaning. Open a dictionary and see how many definitions are given to any one word. Just as any one word commonly has more than one definition, and it would be improper to give the same meaning of a word to every case it is used in language. For example, If I am "loving" a person, this could mean: I am "liking", "caring for", or "becoming one flesh with" them. And the context of the word reveals to us its meaning.

mickey, hell has many definitions, but the main one is the everlasting abode and final destination of the damned (ref: Luke 16:23,24). Eternal torment or everlasting damnation is revealed in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, The prophets preach it, the saints preach it, Jesus preaches it, I preach it, and the Holy Spirit preaches it. Please Read- Isaiah 66:24, Daniel 12:2,3, Matthew 13:40-43, 25:41-46, Mark 9:43-48, Luke 16:23,24, II Thessalonians 1:7-9, Jude 7, Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15.
---Eloy on 10/24/07

Mikey: In the KJV bible hell is mentioned 34 times in the Old Testament. The first book it was mentioned is in Deuteronomy 32:22. In the English version hell is translated into the word Sheol. Same for the Standard version. In the NKJV it is also called hell. Looking at each verse in these different bibles, it has the same meaning. If you don't believe that hell is real, then how can you believe that God is real? Or heaven for that matter? You can't believe one without the other.
---Rebecca_D on 10/24/07

Compare Job 14:13 with Psalms 86:13. The former reads "O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave (sheol), etc." while the latter reads "Thou has delivered my soul from the lowest hell (sheol)." The Hebrew word being the same in both cases, there is no reason why the same word "grave" should not be used in both. But how absurd it would have been for Job to pray to God to hide him in a hell of eternal torture!
