We are saved by grace through faith. It is not by works but by grace. A prayer of faith is all that is needed, Jesus does the rest.

I am a born-again Christian because of what Jesus did on the Cross for me in His finished work there for sin.

Its through faith alone.......We are saved and live through faith. We abide in the Vine. We rest in Him

The answer is found in the Bible. three different times it says," whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shLL be saved"! No where he is it Mentioned anything about your actions in the following years. It would seem that whosoever shall call om the name of the Lord would be referring to using our mouths.

A new Christian is born the moment they say the sinner's prayer from their heart.

Your actions in the following years depend on how you treat your relationship with God. If you spend time with God... you will grow. If you don't, you will get stuck in a rut and possibly be mislead.

I follow Christ because the Father called me and guided my response concerning that call. Giving me the words of acceptance in His word. The subsequent actions are empowered by His Spirit. In Him I live, breath and have my being. It is not by my power of will, my strength or abilities but rather by His divine inspiration, influence and guidance. It is He who works in me both to will and to do His good pleasure, I simply submit and humbled myself, again this is by His Spirit. That makes all the difference.

I am a christian because God convicted me of my sins and I accpted him as my Lord and Savior. If it doesn't come from the heart and a person isn't sorry for their sins then they didn't get saved at all. Saying a little prayer, doesn't get anyone saved.

It is the belief that 'reciting the sinners prayer makes one a Christian' that leaves so many people thinking that they are Christians when they are not. There is nothing wrong with the prayer itself but the individual has to have been led to a conviction of their sinfulness and sincerely repent and ask God's forgiveness for the prayer to make any sense and be of any use. Our good works should follow but they are not what saves us.

you can say the sinners prayer all day long, but unless you are under conviction with a contrite heart, it will do you no good.

Neither. I am a Christian because of what Jesus Christ did on the Cross in His finished work for me, and I believe that He did it and He has forgiven me all my sins.
