I have had those moments, fewer lately, thank the Lord. They are attacks of the devil. The best way to deal with attacks from Satan is to do what Jesus did, quote scripture. Tell Satan that you are forgiven based on 1 John 1:9. Remind him that none are righteus, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. The more you study the Word, the easier it will be, and these attacks will lessen.

Yes--I do agree but with good disciplining and teaching, you will find peace for your soul. You also have to work out your own soul salvation through prayer, bible study and other christian disciplines. This is how we grow and become fruitful for God. No one ever said it was easy, beloved. Begin to study the Word of God, believe the Word and then live the Word out in your own life. Are you doing that?

Also my friend. That is a trick of satan. He wants God people to feel doubtful and not trust our God. Satan came to steal, kill and destroy. Get into your bible. That is your strength. None of us will ever be good enough. That is why Jesus came. He's good enough. When we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, that make us good enough. The blood of Jesus has taken away all sin. Including your guilt and unworthiness.

Lilly, the point is we are as filthy rags in ourselves but we can do all things thru Christ. The testimony of your life can send people to hell or heaven. I am never good enough and I deserve hell, but God saved me and I know I am His child.

Waht I am overwhelmed ewith as a chrisitan is the Father's goodness to me and His nature. When I keep my mind on that I don't have time for looking at something in me that He has already taken care of. Forgive your self and wlak in that

Sweet Lily,

I agree with many if not all of the written responses. The only thing I would add to the responses would be that GUILT is not from God. Jesus died to take away our sins, He bore our GUILT and SHAME. Those two have been satan's #1 tools in my life until just last year. Jesus loved the unlovable. And those who are forgiven much are able to love much...and you are valuable to the body of Christ and you are LOVED by GOD.

Please read as a type. I have been riding motorcycles since '67 from SanDiego to Key West to Virginia on. Still I fear/respect what can happen if I lose my vigilance. Not only in my faults, also of consequences to me of faults of other drivers. I liken my walk as a Christian. God loves me however I "ride" in life. I must keep vigilant in that ride to show my love of God though it sometimes is tiring or costs me scenery along the way. The hilltops are worth it as will be the end of my journey.

None of us ever lives up to the standard of righteousness God requires. God was FULLY aware of this, and that's why He sent JESUS to take our sin and BE our righteousness.

There is NOTHING you can do that will make God love you less than He does right now.

There is Nothing you can do to make Him love you more

Do the best you can.. Ask for forgiveness when you fail..and RELAX

Lilly keep this in mind, being a christian isn't something you are doing, it is something that is being done for you. Your only responsibility is to yield and allow His Spirit to manifest Himself through you. Jesus was asked "What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?" His answer "This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He has sent." Believe is defined here as (Rely on, adhere to, trust in and depend on). Do this, He will take care of the rest. You are loved.

Amen. God blessed everyone of these responses. I stand in agreement with them all. Lilly please allow your heart to be opened to hear them. The Father loves you just where you are, and He will take you to the place in Him that is reserved for you. The more He opens your mind to the love He has for you the freer you will become and the point will be clear. "Come unto me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest". Jesus.

Lilly--thank God we none of us are "good enough", nor do we have to be. That's the whole point of the Gospel.

"While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Be patient with God and yourself. By the time He's through (if you let Him), you'll be very good indeed, and will surprise yourself.

5. I am back on track again. He walked the extra miles to reach out to me. You are not an exception either. He will gladly walk the extra miles for you also. He loves you no matter what you think. I pray for you sister:)

4. He led me back to himself, to the first love. Remember when you first loved the Lord so much, he will take you back there. He will do it for you. Actually, He already did it when he offered His Son for you. It is not a problem if you have doubts, God doesen't hate you for that. He understands. It will take time. Revival and restoration doesen't happen in a minute. It took a while till I could trust and rely on Him again. BUT! He is faithful!

3. Here's what helped me a lot: I told God what I had on my heart. Despite all the emptiness, disappointment and anger that was in me I kept on talking to him. I told him that I cannot be perfect. I told him I needed his proof. I told him I was ready to give up. I told him I was no longer able to pray and read his word. I told him I questioned him. I told him I needed to see him. When I stopped shouting and grew tired that's when I started to wait on him.

2. I wanted to "save myself" and it took a while when I finally realized that Satan ensnared me totally. I believed his lies. Maybe it is your problem too. You believe what satan whispers to you like: "God is perfect and you are not so God doesn't love you, doesn't care about you" or that I have to give up, Christianity is only for good people. BUT! Lilly, please remember: these are just lies.
---Dawn on 7/5/06

1.I believe I totally understand what you are going through now. I was in it. I wanted to be good enough to be the child of God. I always felt shame for not doing it. I thought God was always angry with me and rejected me for my failures and shortcomings. I was so much missled by my own foolish thoughts that I didn't even let God prove the opposite.
