If it was permissible to break the Sabbath commandment about no work to rescue an animal that had fallen into a ditch, is there not even MORE grace under Christ to minister to Him in the persons of the sick on any day?
---Jack on 8/2/08

you are serving the Lord through your healing ministry. God will not judge you for that. But you do need encouragement from those in your church fellowship, so if when you work on Sunday (or Saturday which ever) try to be involved with another service at some point during the week. and Always support your church with your giving. Being a nurse you may actually bring more to the church by working when others are at church.

Salvation is not based on going to church. Salvation is 100% faith in Jesus' finished work on the Cross in His sacrifice of Himself for sin --- the Cross is the only thing that will get you to heaven.

2 cont'd. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! We should go to church but God will not disown us for being human...

2Pet.1:20, Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 1Pet.4:17, For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:... Ja.5:16, Confess your faults one to another... He.10:25, Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,... Ep.2:20-22. 1Co.12 about the church. Ro.10:13-15, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, see 2 cont'd.

"I cannot go" is different than "I will not go or I do not have to go". We should be lovers of God, rather than lovers of pleasures, and we should be about our Father's business. If your church is dead, then pray together for it's revival or find another one. If a Christian fabricates excuses not to go to church, then it is sin, and you will not go to heaven. But God understands if there are real reasons why you cannot go to his church. Please read Matthew 22:2-10; Luke 14:16-24.

Relax! Going to church is great - but not required for salvation. A Christian can go to heaven even if they never go to church. Your only requirement for savation, (and going to heaven,) is accepting Christ as your personal Savior.

Debbie, I'll state this as simply as possible for you. Going to church makes you a christian (or sends you to heaven) about as much as standing in a garage makes you a car. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to heaven, period.

Noname, what happened to you was awful, it should not have been so, but you are not the only one with a story like that. One would expect Christians to keep in touch if one is missing for more than a couple of weeks at most. If they don't it seems they don't care and if they don't care we are left wondering where they actually stand with God themselves.

mima...please clarify your response I am unable to understand your point.
---Ryan on 7/26/06

To Ryan; your statement,"Not everyone that comes to the Lord will be saved (Matthew 7). We must be in full submission to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to change our life, than we must see tha evidence of that change in our production of fruit" seemed to imply that man's salvation is a man not of a sovereign God!! What about Romans 10:13. ACTS 2-21 OR JOEL 2:32

I was a member of a church I attended for 15 years, which began as a house church of just a few people and grew into a large church. I was one of the few original church planters left there. During a difficult time I did not attend for a while...noone kept contact/tried to find out if there were problemns, and one day I recieved a letter saying that I was no longer a member due to nonattendance. Was very hurtful.

If anybody tells you that you won't get to Heaven because of missing church...their church is one you should avoid.
---Donna2277 on 7/22/06

Did you go to Church to get Saved or did you go to Jesus?
If you went to Church to get Saved then don't ever miss any services. They will feel good to you and be good for you while you are alive on this earth.
If you went to Jesus for Salvation it is good for eternity and He understands where you are at and why.
---Elder on 7/21/06

Debbie. Going to Church does not mean you going to Heaven. Wither you go to Heaven or not have nothing to with going to Church. Salvation is NOT church based!. Believing in and having Faith in Jesus Christ is!. Debbe, they alot of people who go to Church everyday and they are far from going to Heaven.
---Ramon on 7/21/06

Many would ridicule this question because they think it's a joke, but folks this is one of the great false beliefs in the world today. Both the lost and saved of the world make church attendance synonymous with salvation. This is belief is a tool of Satan.

Church is a spritual body not a building. If you are worried about your salvation than you must look at the fruit you are producing. Not everyone that comes to the Lord will be saved (Matthew 7). We must be in full submission to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to change our life, than we must see tha evidence of that change in our production of fruit (Galations 5)

We serve a bigger God than that. He is full of grace, mercy and love. Whether you attend church or not, has nothing to do with making it to heaven. If you have received Christ in your heart and have been born again, you are going to heaven. We attend church because we want to and it pleases the Lord, but we are not under the law, we are not required to attend church as a pre-requisite for heaven.
---Debbie on 7/21/06

Going to Heaven has nothing to do with whether or not you go to church. The only way to get to Heaven is to accept Jesus Christ as your savior. HOWEVER, once you do accept Jesus, you should go to church to grow spiritually.

Are you saved, or not? If you have accepted Jesus as your personal savior, you are going to heaven. Attendance at church is not a requirement for heaven.

I work at a hospital on weekends, and I am going to heaven.

If you think that being a Christian is dependent on going to church, then I wonder just what it is you think it is to be a Christian?
---Bruce5656 on 7/21/06

Just the fact that you're concerned about it tells where your heart is. If Sunday's alone are the issue have you thought about finding a church that has Saturday evening services?

There are some people who simply have to miss church and you're one of them - thanks to your choosing a profession that is itself an act of charity. And we thank you.
