"Don't let your cheese slip off your cracker!"

Coool saying!
---Nana on 12/19/08

We are going to be judged on GOD's WORD. Every WORD the Bible says. Not everyone's version of the Bible. Not on someone's commentary. Not something processed through someone elses mind.

The works of man have YET to be judged at the Judgement seat of Christ...

Careful how you build upon the Foundation Paul began. Don't lose your reward because you cheated and looked on someone elses notes and copied (head knowledge only) their understanding. Ther only a man just like you, capable of mis-understanding....and you need to KNOW where THEY got their info. If Calvin got his from Augustine who got it from the Gnostic Philisophers.....WOW!!!

Don't let your cheese slip off your cracker!

This is the generation that the truth is hard to be preached for it is written that a delusion shall envelop the entire world at this time that even the elect could be fooled into believing it. Having over 3,300 main Christian religions, how do you truly find the truth? Each denomination having its own traditions, ways of living, and interpretations of the Bible. Christians bicker about whose "church" is better - even within each denomination! Christians from one denomination would rather die before setting foot in another denominational "church." Because of this, there is no harmony among denominational Christians, there is no "one spirit."

Love has finally left the planet Earth.

faith comes by hearing. not any other way.

AMEN Opalgal!!!! Someone who actually BELIEVES scripture!!!!

faith comes by hearing. not any other way.
---opalgal on 12/12/08

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:16-18

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
Proverbs 14:4-6

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three, but the greatest of these is charity.
1 Corinthians 13:12-13
And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
2 Thessalonians 3:1-3
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
2 Thessalonians 3:2-4

Just reading the Bible isn't all there is. Gosh, even Satan reads the Bible.

The Bible is about the knowledge of God and his relationship with his people. Unfortunately, thats about how far today's Christians have gotten.

It's like reading an autobiography of your best friend. Sure, you know about him, but do you have a relationship with him. Absolutely no. Reading the bible is just the beginning. When you start meditating on the words of God, then you start your relationship. Meditating out loud brings about a very different experience with God. I'm sure you don't communicate with your friend by just thoughts, do you?
---Steveng on 12/12/08

seek God sincerely.. read the Bible.. listen to good Bible teaching that answers your questions
the more that you spend time reading and hearing of God's word, the more faith will come to you. and God will reveal Himself real to you.
faith comes by hearing. not any other way.

#1 Concern: READ YOUR BIBLE!!!!

Start with the New Testament, then read the Old Testament.

"Read it, read it,
Let it be your #1 care.
Nothing else will fill you with more peace, hope, joy, and direction,
And you'll find the answer to your every prayer!"

In the Bible you will discover every answer to your questions above and more. (P.S. Don't trust man to give you the correct answers, trust God's word!...Whatever man tells you, research it against the Word of God. May God bless you!)

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? How shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? How shall they hear without a preacher?
But they have not all obeyed the gospel, for Isaiah saith ,Lord, who hath believed our report?
so then...

God's Peace.

You can not get faith on your own.
You have to ask God to help your faith, even if you don't think there is a God.

Faith comes from God.
Your question is also from God without you even realizing it.
God comes to us first.
He wants you to know Him more than you wanting to know the answers to your questions.
A simple prayer of:
'God help my faith.'
He will lead you to Him, His way.

You just have to be open and allow Him to direct you to Him.
Passive allows God to move you.
Active is you tring to move your faith and move even God your way.

When a person puts their toe in the water they are practicing "belief". But when a person jumps off the high board with no possibility of escaping from complete submergence that person is practicing "faith."
---mima on 11/7/08

The existence of God is taken as a given from the first verse of the Bible: "In the beginning God..."

C. S. Lewis uses the argument from moral law to prove there is a god of some kind, but he admits that we cannot get to the god of any particular religion, much less the God of Christianity this way.

If the God who is in control (no matter what we think of how He controls it) is not the God of the Bible, what is the alternative?
---Jack on 10/24/07

I don't know the answers to yuor questions. others here will find the words to tell you.
The only comment I would make is that Faith is much more than belief ... it includes dependence upon that belief, action based on it, and Trust in it.

To Quest: your statement"why cannot He make it more concrete for us"? Would seem to place the blame upon God. I think this is a mistake. Surely God is not trying to keep us from believing in him. Someone of course is at fault, and just between you and me I think it might be us.
---mima on 8/25/06

yes, yes, yes,by faith in him, yes, faith is believing things not seen, no faith means though you can see feel God you still believe.its alot more,Giod has made it concrete by sending his son to save the world.there lots more his has inspired men and they have written about him,

Is this an english class? Why are you guys arguing about proper puncuation instead of answering the questions? These were very good questons and I was looking forward to some intellegent answers from the members of this site, not your pet peeves on improper puncuation!

emg; Mr. Hamm needs a lot of help. His crippling myopia that he likes to tout as 'faith' I thinks insults most Christians as well as scientist. 'Experts' supporting all sorts of kook positions can be found, Mr Ham is one of many. His efforts only serve to delute real science with psuedo-science, at best. in California we have a Church that worships space aliens, and it is growing rapidly.
---MikeM on 8/10/06

emg ... I recal now about the post which commented about the : and the ;
It was in the introductory showing of all recent blogs, but it started with ** That must be a computer command that results in the post not being published here.
Same as if you start the post with a lower-case b, it will omit the b from the post.

wmg ... # 2 For example, in England we tend to use the ending "ise", and decry the American "ize" But apparently "ize" is more similar to English of the Elizabethans.
This is perhaps because there has been a continuing French influence on English English, which passed by American English
---alan8869_of_UK on 8/8/06

wmg ... # 1 To my recollection, I have never criticised or attacked anyone's grammar or spelling. All I have ever done is to point out that UK spelling, and word meaning, is sometimes different from that in use in the US. It is strange that in England, the cradle of the Englsih language, spellings have changed over recent centuries, and American spelling is less changed from the 16th Century

Alan it looks as if my last posting has been edited. I asked you to show me the mistakes to which you refer, please. The only way one can learn from mistakes if when they are pointed out. To just be told that there are some does not help me.
---emg on 8/8/06

"for in your recent postings there have been incorrct punctuation, sentences without verbs, and split infinitives." Actually I have seen you comment on spelling and bad punctuation in these blogs and was pleased when you did. Anyone who is not prepared to have their mistakes pointed out to them had big problems. Some mistakes bearing my name are when I have cut and pasted b.t.w.
---emg on 8/8/06

emg ... like you I a bit of a pendant, but unlike you I do not criticise other people's spelling or grammar.
And why do I not do that? Firstly, it would be impertinent and I would be criticising something very unimportant, and secondly, I would be only too conscious that I was throwing stones in a glass house.
That is what you are doing, emg, for in your recent postings there have been incorrct punctuation, sentences without verbs, and split infinitives.
---alan8869_of_UK on 8/7/06

MikeM when have I commented on your diction? It would be folly for me to do so as I have never heard you speak. You need the help of, not only Ken Ham but also, a dictionary. Diction - 'a person's manner of uttering or pronouncing words'. Nothing to do with spelling, punctuation et cetera.

2.My intent here is NOT to belittle, but to clarify. A. I believe God created earth, to deny that is is to deny reality, as ontological evidence, far beyond the anecdotal provides unescapable evidence. B. This 'young earth' creationism is not faith, but in reality a refutation of faith.
---MikeM on 8/6/06

1.Emg-Those comments about my diction are a variation of an AD Hominum attack, classic fallasy, through I should try to spell gooder. Spell check was a life saver through school. Ken Ham? There is serious science, and then, Mr. Ham. That should never be confused with 'science,' its religion, nothing more.
---MikeM on 8/6/06

2. I think that you just enjoy goading creationists. You regularly accuse us of 'baling' when what we are actually doing is simply saying what we came to say. You, on the other hand, are like a dog with a bone that you will not let go. You think you can belittle bible believers with you superior intelligence and big words which you might understand but often cannot spell, which let you down often.
---emg on 8/6/06

MikeM, you need Ken Ham more than you realise. If you are still asking questions like "Where did Cain get his wife?" you have a serious problem. His website will give you the biblical answer to that and much more. I believe you went to university - yes?????? Did they not teach English grammar there - you know; spelling, punctuation, how/when to use apostrophes et cetera? It would be much easier to take you seriously if your postings were free from very basic errors.

Go outside.Look at the trees, the sky, the birds. Do you think they just happened? How can the earth be tilted on an axis just so it won't freeze or burn up? The more we search, the more the Bible is being proven. Even prophecies. Ask God to talk to you. Step out & accept Jesus as Your Lord and Savior and give Him a chance to enlighten you. It is concrete. If you're asking these questions, you're probably just a little nervous about looking case Christians are wrong. But what if they are right?
---Amy9384 on 8/6/06

Quest: Your questions are actually very good, but not one of them can be handled adequately in 85 words. Books have beem written about them.

-Did Adam have a belly butten?
-Where did Cain get his wife?
-If Dueteronomy was written by Moses, why does it discribe his own death?
-Why did God orter the killing of children/babies? (Amalikites)

Faith,is the substance(foundation, firm trust, conviction of truth)of things hoped for, the evidence (a proof, that by which a thing is proved or tested)of things(that which is or exists)not seen. Believe(to think to be true,to be persuaded of,to credit,to place confidence in).Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. There's faith because people learn of God,they then believe because they have faith God exists. Faith 1st,then one can believe in God and He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Q#1= yes. Q#2-Yes, but not as we know "control". Q#3= Absolutely. Q#4= Read the Bible & Ask Him. Q#5=Not only, but faith is a very important part. Q#6=Reaching forward on a belief.
