there was a Christian party in '04- the Constitution Party with a Christian candidate-Michael Peroutka. where were you folks then? oh yeah, republicants are pro life, i forgot. what a joke. but that's American Christianity i reckon- believe anyone who says what you wanna hear

Years ago Pat Robertson said the republican party was "Gods party." I guess that would mean somebody voting for something else is a heretic/anti God, oh how silly! All the Republicans I know are pro-choice, they just want the goverment out of the abortion business. Both parties are big goverment, 'goverment to watch over you and tell you whats best for you.' I would think Libertarianism would Attract more Christians.

Someone said a 'Christian Party." That has been done before, with poor results. They would spend more time fussing about what exactly a Christian is than working on issues. It would never work in America. The religious right, via Republicans comes close, but they have failed on every issue. People in America do not want clerical mandates or a theocracy. Leave morality to the homes and churchs.

I am (mostly) against abortion and it's the reason I voted for Bush--the "pro-life" president who has no problem putting our boys'lives on the line for another country's civil war! I lost my brother when I was 17; he was 24; I KNOW what so many siblings in this country are going through as they lose their big brothers, and more! THEIR LIVES COUNT TOO!

I need to put a re-worded for and against, please forgive my haste to put something out there before I compromised truth with the wording...
Republicans are against embryonic stem-cell research, Democrats think this will cure diseases with the idea that intent shall overide the destruction of the unborn child's life (Democratic perspective;embryos are thought of as globs instead of life)
---joan4689 on 10/21/06

Republicans profess to be pro-life, the democrats say they are pro-choice. The Republicans are against stem-cell research, Democrats are for stem-cell research. Republicans want the Christian vote, the Democrats want any vote that is politically correct...need I write anymore?

Amen, Jack! :) I agree with you--people DO sometimes think we're all alike just because we wear the label of Christian! People are sometimes surprised at my viewpoints; I am not saying people who feel differently are wrong--but God made us all different, right? He sure made me different--crazy different! :D

Mima >>And I'm reasonably certain that all Republicans are looking for votes. Some captains will fly any flag to get to port<<

I would say EXACTLY the same of Democrats.
---Donna_Smith on 8/29/06

IF you vote, why not look past the party and to the person. Jesus said we should render unto Caesar what is his and to God what is His. I believe (i.m.o.)we are obligated to look at all of a person's qualifications. After all not all Christians have the strength to be in the political arena. I know I wouldn't... so I would have to find a Christian who had the armor to do the job, regardless of the "party".

I agree with Pharisee, amen Brother, that was a good one. I never took an interest in either Republicians or Democrats, not sure why. I pray for both, but doesn't seem they want to see things God's way. I don't believe we should have taken up the sword with Iraq, too many of our soldiers have died unnecessarily. Should we be asking God this question?
---Donna9759 on 8/26/06

Political parties are politician friendly.

Why not have a Christian party?
---Pharisee on 8/25/06

why worry about it scripture tells us If God be for us who can be against us?I don,t care if your aligned with anything or anyone in this world, I,am a christian and I belong to the BRIDAL PARTY. now anything else though wordly important for the flesh actually means nothing.
---tom2 on 8/25/06

I Do not know if most Republicans are for the Christians. But I know Christians can vote. And I'm reasonably certain that all Republicans are looking for votes. Some captains will fly any flag to get to port!!!
