no confusion please---God uses us for workers to spread the Gospel--He COULD HAVE used something else if He wanted. He CHOSE by the Foolishness of preaching....etc.
---donald on 12/16/07

No.On the contrary, usually when man attempts to work out God's plans, he messes it up.Abraham and Sarah with Hagar and Ishmael is a good example.Aaron with the golden calf,Moses with the rock, etc.God doesn't NEED man but He chooses to use him for our benefit.
---donald on 12/15/07

God would not be God if He needed anything. But he invites our cooperation.

Yes. I once read in the Bible that Jesus said that the harvest is good but to little workers. Read Matthew 25: 31-40, not once, not twice but three times and you will understand it too.
---Georgina on 12/14/07

In one word NO!

Mima, God needs for His People to work fast before the Harvest of souls go to waste. There is so much work in the fields, but such a Few workers, and limited time. --Mrs. Morgan

No more than your father needs you to clean out the garage or mow the lawn or wash dishes. But, for a father to allow you to go through life without these skills, or at instill the ability and willingness to work, would be show him to be a poor father in deed.

John>>>I really liked what you said,"No man in the plan except lost people who needs God". The Bible saids, "that the rich and powerful do not think they need me, so they won't except me, so I choose the weak and the foolish thing of this world".
---catherine on 4/11/07

Absolutely NO. We need God, He does not need us. To be allowed to serve Him is a great favour. God is all selfsuffienct. He did fine before He made us, and so, you get my drift? God could wipe all of us off the face of this earth in a heartbeat, less than a heartbeat.
---catherine on 4/11/07

No He does not. However, he has chosen to partner with man to accomplish his purposes.

Jerry ... God more than allows us ... He commands us. And when (not if) we fail, He still forgives us.

You all are to funny! Did God at any time need man's help creating the Earth, the Solar System, or even man? He created us out of dirt! We can not even work out our own salvation, God had to send his own Son, in the form of flesh, to die and pay our sin debt. God does not need us to carry out his plan, but he does allow us to participate in that plan.
---Jerry on 8/28/06

Lets go back right to the begining before there was man. Did God need man to work out His plans for mankind? I don't think so. And it says that before the foundations of the earth were formed, God had planned to send his son. No man in the plan except lost ones who needed God. Not the other way around. I think we are chosen, not needed.

YES;we are all pawns in the plan of redeeming mankind, who as yet Do Not know Him.But with His command Love one another. As the saying goes you catch more flies with Honey than with Vinegar. His plan of ONE Flock still stands.
---Emcee on 8/28/06

Yes God needs man to accomplish His plans. He uses us to show love, to meet the needs of others, to witness about the love of Jesus just to mention a few. But I believe we need God more in every sphere of our lives.
---Njeri on 8/28/06

Yes. We are the BODY of Christ. Christ indwells in us through the power of the Holy Spirit. God arranged it that way so that it's Him working through us. He's using our Body to indwell in, thus we are His Body of Christ.

God does not need any thing, else he would not be God. But on the other hand, we need God.
---Eloy on 8/28/06

greetings, does not our Father need his children to to forgive one another,to show sincere love to another and to overcome the beast together so that his future's children may not live in fear?
---earl on 8/27/06

If someone is house-bound, and needs someone else to do the shopping, God will send a mere human being to do His work.
But the question refers to "man to work out His plans for mankind"
God is quite capable of making His own plans, but expects those who love Him to do their part, and maybe we will have to use our God-given brains to decide what that part is, and how we can use our God-given talents for Him.

If God needs help to fulfill His plan it is because He wants us to have the opportunity to help with the spreading of the Good News for instance. Surely He could have evangelized the whole world with His angles but He chose to give us a share of the action.
Thanks be to God! P.

I don't think He needs us. But He has chosen us to be His partners through the blood of Christ. If we wouldn't speak the rocks would cry out. We now have a responsibility. I don't think God really has any needs being omnipotent.
---john on 8/27/06

It is God's will to work through people to share the Word of God. In the OT God used men of God and prophets. In the NT God sent his Son in the form of a man to tell us about God Matthew 4:17, 11:1 and save us by the shedding of his blood on the cross Romans 5:6-11, Hebrews 9:22. Then God used the Apostles Mark 3:14, 16:15 and other believers to preach the gospel. 2Timothy 4:2, 1Corinthians 1:18,21
Praise and thank God for his plan of salvation and preaching the gospel.

He doesnt NEED mans help, but in His wisdom and grace has opted man into His divine will and purpose. This requires man to make himself available, willing and obedient to be used of God.
---pkay on 8/27/06

its a catch 22 thing. God has said apart from me you can do nothing. so we must live a spirit filled life thru jesus first, then God uses us to work his plan, but at the same time we are changed and grow in the lord the more kingdom work we do , and the more we submitt our will. we think we are helping God ,but he is actually changing us.

I do not believe that God needs man's help because He can do what He wants whenever He wants. However, He has chosen to do things in the way that involves man's participation.

God needs His children to preach the gospel through.
---Helen_5378 on 8/27/06

I do not believe God needs man to accomplish his plans. Has a potter ever told the clay, look I can't form you unless you grow legs and hop up on this spinny thing? Nor have you seen a gardener tell the dirt to supply it's own seed for the flower. As Alan said he chooses to use us, yes, but he doesn't NEED us.
---Katie on 8/27/06

greetings ,for mima,i agree that it is imperative that man must work out the future in that we will all go cannot see the forest of spiritual beauty for the trees of personal lies dormant in spirit planning, for if it was not so man would not need his Father to show him the way.future mankind will be the result of what we do today.

the bottom line is God doesn,t need us at all. he desires us to repent and accept jesus because he loves us.
---tom2 on 8/26/06

we have 2 jobs 1 to believe God and his word, 2 to witness about jesus.
