His love to us in sending Jesus - Salvation 1. That man might believe and be saved. 2.We have new life in Him and thankfulness in return. We love God because He 1st loved us. Than, what is important to God, is that after we believe - we grow in love and produce fruit. It is God's Spirit that has the fruit. ( Fruit of the Spirit) not spirits. His Spirit - is the fruit living inside of us. Us, letting Him love through us is producing fruit. God, is love. God, Himself - will teach us how to love.

Helen5378: I think he must think he is the Christian "Bob Hope USO Show for the troops"!
---kathr4453 on 9/7/06

God as Creator is greater than God as lover. "the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." For if God did not create any thing, there would be no thing to love. Also, one of the major false doctrines today is the "love gospel", saying, God has no hate nor wrath, and all go to heaven because God is only love.
---Eloy on 9/7/06

Kathr4453 - You are right about Jesse Duplantis - he is a false teacher. If you want to do comedy do it in a nightclub where it belongs, but not behind the pulplit. Jesus never ever did that. We will know them by their fruits.
---Helen_5378 on 9/6/06

Donna2277:It would seem that the ashamed person would be easier to witness to then the proud. I do know what you mean. Sometimes those who grow up victims of child abuse have a really hard time grasping THEY are a sinner. Their focus is usually on the one who victimized them.
I think of the Gospel as one of Good News, that we are all sinners, born with that nature, and Jesus came to give us a New Nature. I think acknowledging that part of our sinfulness is all that is required. No blame there.
---kathr4453 on 9/6/06

fhom::In retrospect why should you Not believe that God's love is the most important in your life? Why should you NOT strive for it.But just take it for granted & live a sordid sinful life.depends on what your Goal is glory Or Damination. To acknowledge that we are sinners gives us the impetus to improve & seek His love & guidance,Cause this is why He came into the world to Save us from Sin.
---Emcee on 9/6/06

God's love that is perfected in us is actually His Divine Nature. It's not a human love. This can only become real in our lives as we die to self and let the very Life of Jesus Christ live through us. Gal 2:20. We are aleays carrying about in our bodies the dying of Jesus that the life of Jesus is made manifest.
When God allows offences in our life, that would be humanly impossible to forgive, He's teaching us to forgive as He forgave us. It's in these experiences that God's love is formed in us.
---kathr4453 on 9/6/06

Donna9759 - If anybody says that they don't need to hear they are a sinner and think they are saved they are not saved. You say you introduce Jesus as your friend --- that is wrong. Jesus has to be presented as the Saviour of the world dying on the Cross for the sin of mankind, or else it is another Jesus another gospel.
---Helen_5378 on 9/5/06

RE: Jesse Duplantis. Sorry to say this, but I watched him preach one time on tv, and he made my skin crawl. Nothing but good time jokes and a whole lotta nothing about the TRUTH!! Sorry! I wouldn't use him as an example ever! Doesn't he have a big jet he brags about flying all over the world in luxury?? Not my kinda guy!
---kathr4453 on 9/5/06

Nobody can be saved unless they realize they are sinners. Some already are acutely aware of this. Others think somehow they can be "good enough" to please God. LISTENING is SO important in witnessing. (It is also a way of showing love). You cannot approach the "ashamed" person the same way you approach the "proud". The TRUTH is the same for each, but you need to listen first, so you know how to present it.
---Donna2277 on 9/5/06

Donna: When Jesus came, He was ful of Grace and Truth. He also was God's love gift to a lost and dying world.

Jesus wasn't a mushy pushover either. Love confronts, and should be truthful. Jesus came to save sinners. He died a horrible death on a cross for our sin. If that is too hard for some of your friends to hear, then read John chapter 6. MAny turned away included in that group Judas was mentioned. Judas didn't want a redeemer, he wanted a popular King! Look where that got him.
---kathr4453 on 9/5/06

Kathr4453 and Creamcup - You are both totally correct. A person must know that they are a sinner or they cannot get saved. The preaching of the Cross is about sin which is man's problem. Jesus Christ gave Himself on the Cross as the Sacrifice for sin.
---Helen_5378 on 9/5/06

2/... One is either preaching the Cross of Christ for salvation, which of necessity speaks of the horrible sin of the sinner, or they are preaching another Jesus another gospel (Galatians 1:8,9). Donna, the Jesus you speak of is not the Jesus of the Bible. Jesus did not come to condemn that is true, but He did come to save sinners.
---Helen_5378 on 9/5/06

Donna9759 - Jesus told the woman at the well what her sin was - "you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband..." (John 4:18). Nicodemus - born again from what? The woman caught in adultery - "Go and sin no more" (John 8:11). There must be conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit or else one cannot be born-again.
---Helen_5378 on 9/5/06

Helen, you are a cherished cherub and I love you dearly, but to say I am wrong is erroneous on your part. WHY? Did Jesus tell the woman at the well "you're a sinner and you need to repent?" No, instead he gave her HIMSELF. Did Jesus tell Nicodemus to repent or did he tell him "you must be Born Again." Did Jesus tell the woman caught in adultery, "You need to repent?" No, instead he asked "where are they that condemn you." The Holy Spirit can't be put in a box.

You bet it is!!! God is LOVE. His command to us is to LOVE. He gave His only Son out of His LOVE for man. Faith, Hope, LOVE. The greatest of these is LOVE. Through Christ, I am able to LOVE everyone. LOVE is important to me and I am so glad God has allowed me to experience His LOVE and show His LOVE.
---Helen on 9/5/06

helen, and actuallly everyday of your life here you must use the victory that christ gives us to fight satans attacks.I agree so much with you that I can,t say the words that can express it.Thats the problem with the world, and amny so called christians ,they live as if what they do isn,t sin.jesus said remove the log from your eye ,then you can see to remove the speck from your brothers eye.peoeple think everybodys sinning around them but they aren,t.
---fhoma6579 on 9/4/06

Donna9759 - You are wrong. People do need to know that they are a sinner otherwise they cannot get saved. To get saved is to get saved from sin. So what you say is not correct. Anybody who supposedly comes to Jesus and does not acknowledge that they are a sinner is not saved.
---Helen_5378 on 9/3/06

Actually cremcup and kathr, I agree with you both. However, I have tried both ways of witnessing to people and the ones I tell they are sinners and need to repent don't come to Christ. The other ones do because I tell them "you need Jesus, you need to meet my friend Jesus." I've brought many to Christ this way, but I do agree with you both.
Jesse Duplantis came to Christ this way too. He said he didn't need to hear he was a sinner.

YES! Love is the most important thing to God. 1st Cor.13...Though I speak with the tounges of men and angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging symbol! And though I have the gift of prophesey and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge, and though I have faith to remove mountians, but have not love, I am nothing. Though I give all I have to feed the poor, and give my body to be burned, but have not love it profits me nothing.
---Barbara on 9/2/06

Sorry Creamcup, that was for Donna!!!
---kathr4453 on 9/2/06

Yes people DO need to hear they are a sinner to get saved.
Jesus came to save sinners. The only people that will be in Heaven are blood bought SINNERS.
There is NO salvation apart from confessing you are a sinner in need of a Savior. The man who died next to Jesus on the cross did. He knew he was a sinner worthy of death. He knew Jesus was Savior, and Lord. How else do you think Jesus said "Today you will be with me in Paradise".
For God SO LOVED the world"
---kathr4453 on 9/2/06

Donna 9759, "People don't need to hear they're a sinner or they're going to hell to get saved, they need to know the length, depth, etc, of the Love God has for them." I could not disagree with you more. The prophets, John the baptist, Jesus, and the apostles warned people to repent. Matthew 3:2,4:17 Mark 1:15,6:12 Luke 13:3,5 Acts 2:38,3:19,17:30.

we as christians must do all things in love. the world has changed sooooo much seems their attiude has become do unto others before they do it unto you.
---tom2 on 9/2/06

I believe after we are saved that probably the most important nature we should imulate or copy within ourselves should be the agopy love that is God nature. This love will transform our thoughts and attitudes about life anf the people around us. When you become so much less concerned about you, and so much more about everyone around you ,and everyone in the world being lost it changes you soooooooooooo much.
---tom2 on 9/2/06

God IS NOT only a God of Love, but also a Just God. If he was only Love, he would have pardoned Adam and Eve for sinning and we would still be walking in the Garden of Eden. He is also a very patient Judge. Who else would wait 10,000 years to see if all the people in the world repented before judging the world? He would wait a thousand more years, but because man is what he is, causing prophecy to be fulfilled.

God is love. --Mrs. Morgan
---Mrs._Morgan on 9/1/06

Considering "God is Love" I have to say YES. People don't need to hear they're a sinner or they're going to hell to get saved, they need to know the length, depth, etc., of the Love God has for them. Once you know that, and you see yourself as God sees you, it can set a man free and bring Him closer to the Lord.
