Just Plead The Blood Of Christ

In my first church after being saved I often heard people say "Just plead the blood". No-one seemed to know how to explain what it actually meant. I can't find it in the bible. Can someone explain please?

To better understand why people use the phrase" just plead the blood" a person could study Hebrews 10:19, 12:24, First Peter 1:2

Here it is: People have gotten from the gospel of Paul (not from Jesus) that the blood of Jesus will cover up your sins so that God can't see them when you go to heaven. This is wrong. Jesus said you MUST repent and He is just and will forgive your sins, and then you will be without sin. It is important to know that the Passover Lamb did not have any sins placed upon it, neither did Jesus for He became the Passover Lamb.

I can't cite chapter and verse, but it was explained to me as praying that Christ's blood cover a situation, or put a hedge about you, to protect from Satan's attacks. The idea being, the Blood of Jesus is something Satan cannot touch, and won't go near.

I prefer to dress in the armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6, and dress for battle appropriately.

Why do people say they except Jesus as there savior it's not scripture He excepts us He draws us to him with his spirt.
and he says if you don't have my spirt you are none of mine So if you except him how do you get his spirt act 2-37-38 tells us how we receive his spirt and that is scripture

I'll check EVERYTHING that many of you have suggested. It certainly did seem to be a 'buzz word' as Jack states because it was always said with no explanation. I almost felt, at the time, that they had a secret code and that I wasn't in on the secret. I suggest someone start a new blog on buzz words and what we should really be saying to new Christians instead. Thank you all for your help and encouragement here, you've been wonderful.

There is NO, repeat NO substitution for faith.

You can plead the stuffings of poohbear if you like and God won't hear it unless you come to him in faith.

There is no magic formula of what to say to get God's attention, that's manipulation and he won't be fooled, and there's no substitution for a heart joining with him in faith.

Mac, (3.) If you would like you could check out my minister's series of books titled "The Reality of the Blood" by Ernest Angley on his website, this would help you to understand the "Fullness" of the Divine Blood of Christ. In addition, on his website there is a section on the home page to the far left under "giant little books" that you can click on , and you will find several topics there, including "The Blood of Jesus".....

To plead the blood is to reasure yourself he has shed his blood for you. For instance, if I start to doubt my salvation, I just remember that Christ sheed his blood for me, washed me in his blood and I acceptd him as my saviour. So I tell the devil to get behind me and take his doubts with him.

Mac, there's a powerful book called "The Power of the Blood" by Maxwell White. Pleading the Blood means that the shed blood of Jesus covers our sins and has power in it. You can plead the blood because you are a blood bought child of God. Pleading means to me "covering" myself with the Blood. We do this in faith. "The life that I now live, I live by Faith in the Son of God." It's a term or expression used by some Christians who know the Power of the shed Blood of Jesus.

Of course nobody could tell you and of course it's not in the Bible, beccause it's one of those Christian buzz-words that get so frequently repeated people think it means something.

There IS an ancient classic way that Christians have been pleading the blood of Christ, but most people here wouldn't want to know about it.

Also look at this one, which tells you more still:
Personally I think it is just another way of saying "Jesus, you died for me. I have faith that you have cancelled my sins"
