If sinners could display all the fruits of the Spirit, why would we need to know biblical the fruits of the Spirit?

Brad those who do such things are just revealing the fruit of their master(the master that stands for deceit). Just don't do as they do and fall into that wickedness. Obey God.

Someone else is using my name. It happens all the time on here. Either someone is mad or whatever else it is, but they use your name constantly.

you don't buy a bunch of fruit's, fruit is also plural if you want to get technical about it, and the fruit of the Spirit is also plural.

There can be no fruit without the Holy Spirit because the Scripture calls it "the fruit of the Spirit". It is not our own fruit, for we can do nothing of ourselves.
---Helen_5378 on 7/31/07|
In the text it explains that it is Fruit, not fruit's of the spirit. With the holy spirit comes the fruit which contains all love, joy etc.

You can look as if you have the fruits, but until you experience Salvation, they will never come naturally. They all stem from Love, therefore, until you know pure love, how can you extend it to anyone?

Fruit will happen whether you are saved or lost but the key thing is for what kingdom. When I was lost, all of the goodness and kindness I had was not for the kingdom of God. Now that I'm saved the same acts are for Gods kingdom.

We must have the Real Fruit of the Spirit, the enemy offers imitation fruit, and tragically many are satisfied with that. Only God's "Real Fruit" will bless us, edify us. God Bless!

These are the Fruits that are Ripe to Eat.
These are the Fruits that are Good to Eat.
How nourishing for oneself and for everyone else when a Tree bears Good Fruit. Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Selfcontrol. Also, let others pick fruit off of your tree. This Fruit is Ripe. It is Good to Taste.

Sue - God says that "there is none righteous, no not one" (Romans 3:10) and that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). You see, God says that nobody is good. That is why we need Jesus and His righteousness.

Hi, Helen, Well the thing is I know some born again Christians that curse sometimes! As a matter of fact, they also sin! This is a thing I've always had trouble with. Good people CAN be good with out believing in God. It's true.
---sue on 10/2/06|
Sue - The "fruit" that the unsaved may have is tainted through and through with sin. The true fruit is that of the Holy Spirit in a born-again Christian. There is a big difference. One mocks the other. An unsaved person can do some acts of kindness, but the kindness is wiped out with e.g. their cursing and swearing.
---Helen_5378 on 10/2/06|
Well their kindness, goodness, patience etc. all seemed for real to me! How can somebody fake being peaceful? or fake being kind to somebody? either you're being patient or not. How would you fake being gentle or fake having self control? I'm confused. God bless.
---sue on 10/1/06|
Sue - An unsaved person cannot have those traits because they are the fruit of the Spirit. Only a saved person has the Holy Spirit living in them to produce those fruits. An unsaved person may have a form of them, but not the real thing, because they are sinners through and through.

Are you to say that no body can have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness etc. etc. unless they are saved? Well I'm to say that I've known lots of people in my life that are all of those and they didn't beleive in God. A person CAN be morally good but not saved.

No you can't. The fruit of the Spitit comes from a cricified life. Anyone can immitate these traits. The real thing is Christ in you. They have the fruit of the flesh. We have the fruit of the SPIRIT!
---kathr4453 on 9/29/06|
Yes, of course people can have these traits and not be saved. The only differance is that a saved person with these traits will go to heaven when they die and the unsaved person won't.
---sue on 9/29/06|
mima, there are people who have these traits yet are not saved.the problem is having these traits without knowing jesus and being saved doesn,t change the fact that you are still lost living in the flesh.

No. A carnal facsimile maybe, when it suits one or when according to ones perceptions thing seem to be going well. However that which is produced of the Spirit becomes ones spirit or habitual way of relating to life & ones fellow man. It is not something we do, but rather that which is done in us. A man can fake anything, however he must eventually succumb to the reality of what resides within him. The imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth, & from the heart flow the issues of life.

It is impossible to have the fruit without the Holy Spirit simply because they are the "fruit of the Spirit", not of oneself.

Resurrection Life is a life out of death, otherwise it wouldn't be called Resurrection Life. Now it's the Very life of Christ in us that produces that fruit. The Trinity is still ONE GOD! Galatians 2:20
God does not give the Holy Spirit to our old sin nature. That old nature is now dead, crucified, caput! It's the New Nature that walks in the Spirit producing, what is "Being conformed to the Image of Jesus Christ".

Read 2 Corinthians chapter 3.
The New Covenant. We are being changed from Glory to Glory, by the Spirit of the Lord. All this is working together for one purpose.
"We don't know what we will be, but we know we will be like Him". 1st John
---kathr4453 on 9/8/06|
It also says,I think verse 24 "those who are Christs have crucified the flesh". ALL these scriptures go together. When we are crucified with Christ, we are buried with Him into baptism unto death and raised a new Creation In Him.
Look at Romans 8:11-13 and look at Hebrews 13:20&21.
The Covenant promised the Spirit. The Spirit is given when we are Born Again.
We are born again only after we are crucified with Christ. .

The Fruit of the Spirit is not the same as their fleshly counterpart. Spiritual Love is to the Death and unselfish. Spiritual Joy is, even in the worst situations you still have it, Spiritual peace is the same,Spiritual patience is without end, Spiritual kindness is with out prejudice, Spiritual goodness is witout sin and faithfulness without failing, gentleness even to enemies, and selfcontrol that is beyond human comprehention

Possible to have them, not possible to own them without God.
Walking in the Spirit, these follow, walk long enough and these things become natural, and a part of our Character.
There always seems to be more unconquered territory within us, and it's a process where day by day we become more like Jesus through our yeilding.
One by one we shall have them all in fullness; some run, some of us walk and yet others are limping to the finish line.
All growing in Christ through his Spirit.
---Pharisee on 9/8/06|
The Holy Spirit's fruit gives the power to us to be able to display His fruit to others when our natural behaviour would be bitterness, resentment, anger etc. There's ability to display the "fruit" expressions in the sinners life when circumstances & people warrant them, when it is easy. The Holy Spirit's fruit becomes our personality like Jesus' as we allow the H.S. to empower us. This fruit bears fruit that remains! The sinner's "fruit" does not bless him or others for eternity.
---Linda on 9/8/06|
Every person has some type of goodness in us. After all, God made us in his image. God can use the sinners just as he can use the Christians to do his work. All of these gifts are manifested in everyone, but it is up to each person to use these or act upon these gifts. So yes it is possible for one to have these gifts and not the Holy Spirit.
---Rebecca_D on 9/8/06|
The fundamental dfference is this: a non believer will often experience some of these fruits, if not all of them, but only as a one off.
What do I mean? This is a description of what a Christian is supposed to be, all the time, not when it suits us.
