Sarah, I don't know what you are trying to overcome, but let me just tell you how I overcame something. You must take the first step. I believe Moses took the first step when he stepped into the red sea, then God opened the sea. We can't just wait for God to work in our lives, we must take the first step.

Sarah--Take heart! Thirty may seem old to you, but actually it is the best age to prepare for a career that requires mature judgement and knowledge of people. I, too, started college at 17, and my education got interrupted for quite a few years. What I discovered was that I enjoyed college more at 30 than 17.. and got better grades with greater ease.

Sarah you are loved. You will possess your dream, I believe it was inspired of God. Do you? Cast your distracting concerns upon the Father knowing He is concerned for you. Do not cave in give up or quit. In your patience (enduring constancy) you acquire a strength of character that will serve you and others for a lifetime. I deeply respect your determination beloved. Peace be unto you, the Father will keep you in perfect peace if you allow your mind to stay on Him. He will in turn guide your thoughts

Sarah the victory is a done deal, you need to make up your mind not to listen to the lies of satan.the battlefield is in the mind. satan tells you you have no victory and you believe him. SARAH who do you believe God or satan?victory isn,t a feeling dear its a lifestyle, jesus was the victor, he won the battle, you need to accept that satan is a liar and make up your mind that through JESUS you HAVE WON.

Sarah. Whatsoever you ask when you pray believe you receive & you shall have. However you must ask in faith according to His will & without doubt. If you sense any doubt pray this simple prayer "Lord I rely on, trust in & depend upon you, help me with any doubt I may have, & forgive my unbelief, Thank-you" Rise from the prayer knowing that He heard you & rest. One who has rested has ceased from ones own sensually based efforts & force of will, knowing that His will is His best,& best suited.

Sarah. The victory that overcomes the "world" is faith, steadfast unwavering confidence in the Father, His Word, His principles & His promises. Being fully persuaded that what He has promised He will perform. Followers of Christ are over-comers & we overcome by the atonement of Jesus & our declaration of that atonement. Trust in the LORD & wait patiently for Him. Be still & know that He exist & that He rewards those that make an effort to know Him. We are more than conquers through Him.

I would need more information about your situation. Sometimes people can pray and fast about things that isn't even God's will. Or it could be that you are letting the devil joggle your faith in God? Don't let your faith waiver if the latter is the case, take a stand and ignore the devil. (James 1:6,7). God Bless. --Mrs. Morgan

Sarah: Continue to have faith that God will deliver you. Continue to pray. But meanwhile, if your faith is weak, seek out someone you can confide in. Maybe a pastor of a church, even if you dont know him. If you have fellowship with others in a church, talk about your situation with them. They will give you the encouragement you need to be strong. Praying that you have peace of mind, joy of spirit, good health and many great friends to share them with.

Do you have any unforgiveness...either towards others, or even towards yourself? Sometimes we as humans have trouble forgiving ourselves for our mistakes!

Jesus referred to his body as "this temple." Top to bottom inside and out this place was roped off from the world around him.
I was at a time fascinated by the way of the Samurai. They spent their whole lives one moment at a time preparing for their death.
If you think of the Lord Jesus he was doing the same but with a greater reason. The pleasure of life becomes almost after thought. Find that victory.

My husband was delivered from smoking one Monday morning when, with cigarette in hand, he cried out, "Lord, please deliver me from smoking." In the quiet that followed, he heard the voice of the Father say, "Son, don't you know I delivered you of those the first time you asked." The cigarettes went into the trash and he has not had one since, nor even craved them. That was almost 13 years ago. Such is the voice of God. It breaks the cedars and causes the hinds to give birth.

2/... By being in Christ, which is what we are when we are born-again, we are in the One Who overcame. So trust the Overcomer to remove it and He will set you free. Jesus did this for me when He set me free from the awful bondage of cigarettes.

The only way to have victory in our lives is to totally believe that Jesus Christ took the problem, no matter what it is, on the Cross for us. Place your faith there and see the Lord go mightily to work in your life. We cannot overcome anything ourselves, that is why Jesus is the overcomer through His death on the Cross. Just believe and don't give up believing.
---Helen_5378 on 9/8/06

Sarah, when you've done all you can, stand on God for victory over whatever it is you want to overcome. When I wanted to stop smoking, I asked Jesus to take the desire from me. He couldn't accomplish that until I tossed them in the trash. When I did, He broke the addiction in me, 11 years ago. My point: no matter what you're believing God to do, there is something we need to do to cooperate with God. We are to step out in faith, believing we have the victory because we are Children of God, amen!

God said do all you can do and stand still. If you have done all you can do and your back is against the wall then stand still. God never told us that we would overcome battles within a certain amount of time. It takes faith to move the hand of God, so my advice to you is to keep the faith and stand still and let God move. If possible, I know at times it can be hard to do.

Sarah, I am not sure of the nature of your problem, but it seems as if you are taking the correct steps. I would recommend that you continue and seek God's guidance. The nature of your dilemna make require haste, but be as patient as you can. Also, take a quick look at Philippians 4:6. Peace.

The first step is to believe that Jesus delivered you from sin when He died your death and that He was raised victorious on the third day. Keep placing your trust in what He has already accomplished instead of what you are trying to do to get the victory. The gospel works effectually in them that believe...and the gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
