Wow!!! Over 30 years a Christian and I never saw this list before... From what study does this come? A specific denomination? It surely covers a lot of Biblical territory for Jesus not to have specifically taught on it.

(6) Age of Grace or the Church Age. It started on the Day of Pentecost. The purpose is a calling of a people for His Name. The great event of this age will be the catching away. The great sin is the rejection of Christ. The judgment at the end of this age will be the judgment of the nations.
(7) Kingdom Age or Millennial Age. It will last 1000 years. Judgment will be the Great White Throne Judgment. Eternity future will begin.

(4) Age of Promise or Abrahamic Covenant.
Gen. 12 - Ex. 19. The main sin was that they should have believed God and not stayed in Egypt. The judgment was the judgment of Egypt and the crossing of the Red Sea.
(5) Age of Law or Mosaic Covenant. It lasted 1500 years. the responsibility was to keep the law. their major sin was that they worshipped false gods. The judgment that ended this dispensation was the Cross of Christ.

(2) Age of conscience - aka: anti-deluvian - before the flood. Gen. 4-8; God gave them the responsibility of offering sacrifices for sin and obeying Him. Judgment was the flood. This age lasted 1656 years.
(3) Age of Human government or Post-Deluvian - After the flood. Gen. 9-11; The crowning sin was pride. Their responsibility was to obey God and rebuild and replenish. The judgment was the confusing of the language and scattering of the people.

There are 7 dispensations and there is judgment at the end of each dispensation.
(1) Age of Innocense aka: paradise. It began with creation - Gen. 1:1-3. God gave Adam and Eve a responsibility which was exercising dominion over the animals and the land. The judgment at the end of this dispensation was the removal of Adam and Eve from the garden.

During the time of Noah, God gave him two things:
Not to kill, and to fill the earth.
Each dispensation revealed more and more of the Holiness of God, until the Law, which revealed all that was necessary to reveal, so that now ALL have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.
We, in this Church age are accountable to what is revealed to us. Being conformed to the Image of Jesus Christ. Never done before.

I've never understood why people have a hard time with dispensations.
If you believe in the Old Covenant and the New, then whether you like it or not, you are a dispensationalist.
If you believe Romans 5 that says, even though there was sin from Adam to Moses, but God could not impute sin to them, because there was no law...that is a dispensation of accountability..regardless of law.

1st corinthians 15:26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Ephesians 1:10
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

mikefl, the seven dispenstions are: Edenic (innocence), antedilivian (conscience), post diluvian (human government), patriarchal (family), legal (law), ecclesiastical (grace), messianic (the millenial earth). Each dispensation has a trial a failure and a punishment affecting all mankind. To study dispensations is the beginning of the abilbity to "Rightly divide the Word of God."

me too mima.

I do read in the scripture of a 5-fold ministry and of the 9 gifts of the spirit. I can't find a list of 7 "dispensations". How about some examples...
---mikefl on 9/8/06

Yes I believe they are true but then again I consider myself to be a dispensationist.

I've heard three.
As long as it doesn't lead to a pre-trib rapture, it's an adiaphora.
Of course, the apotheosis of dispensationalism is the Divine Principle of Sun Myung Moon.
