How To Serve God
I agree with you in a way Jack, but if someone doesn't know God or how to listen to His Voice, they will approach people, and it is our responsibility as Christians to answer them as Jesus would = serving God and becoming Christ-like.

Well, we are suppose to be serving God in everything we do in this life. From cleaning the house, to taking out the garbage. And all the while, thank you Jesus, praise your holy name. Take Him shopping with you. And for goodness sakes don't worry about what people think, when you ask God, "may I buy this"? OUTLOUD. [or to myself] depends on God. I don't believe that unbelievers care about what we think about them, so why should we care what they think about us. [good point Jesus, thank you] I have seen unbelievers flaunt their sins right in my face. Which ofcourse, is the same thing as flaunting their sins in God's face. JUDGMENT DAY IS COMING! "And that is the good news"!++!

Most excellent advice! My wife's name is Julia but many people call her Julie, Mima, or Nana.

We can serve God everyday.
*by studying & applying His word
*by cleaning my house
*caring for my husband and children
*cooking the meals for them
*when I praise Him
*interceeding for others in prayer
*paying the bills
*giving my tithe
*setting an example for others
*witnessing to the lost
*with my speech (avoiding profanity & speak in love
Even in the mundain and routine parts of life, if we do what we do to honor Him and allow others the see Him in all we do, then we are serving Him. I encourge you to spend time with your Bible and prayer. He will lead you to discover your own ways to serve Him. It's an exciting discovery you won't want to miss!

I believe that some people who never got a chance to meet God, because of circumstances, will be saved because they have an inbuilt inherent love of all that is good, and hatred of all that is evil. I call this the God of the Judeo Christian faith. This God can be manifested in people who have not formally surrendered their lives to Him. I believe such people will be judged and found good enough for Heaven. Just my (probably erroneous) opinion.

Just as some say 'Lord Lord, we prophesied in your name, and in your name we cast out devils, and we performed numerous miracles' but God will REJECT them, in the same way some people will be presented before God and God will say 'Yes, you DID serve me, although you did not know it was me you were serving.' Again, this is JUST MY OPINION>

We are ALL called to be priests in our families and neighbourhoods. Nobody is called to Lord it over others and fake their Christianity in the High Places of Churches etc. There are many, many ways of serving God. Each person, when the Holy Spirit comes, will receive a unique calling and gifts. It only takes courage after that, you do not need to be perfect, just willing to learn.

Jesus said, "when I was hungry you gave me something to eat. When I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink," Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me. Live by that and you will be serving God.

Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Love Him with ALL of your heart. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Do the word. Do what He tells you to do in His word. Love your neighbor. Give and it shall be given unto you. Turn the other cheek. Pray for the sick. Visit people in nursing homes. They are very lonely there.

God is easy to please.
All you need is to Trust Jesus, Son of God.
That's all....what the Father wants for you to do...you cannot please or serve God if you don't trust His son Jesus.

We serve the Father by serving one another. The greatest among us shall be a servant to all humanity, and the master of no one.

At my church there are plenty of ways to serve God. Missionary, deacon, elder, Sunday School teacher, Music ministry, Food pantry, Youth ministry.
Contact a Bible college and see what your options are for studying for ministries.

James, it would be better for you to ask Him directly how to serve Him, rather than asking strangers on these blogs.
Isn't God just as capable of speaking to you directly as through others?
