Jesus wants me spiritually rich. He does not me poor financially because that would be a curse. However, Jesus does not want me financially rich - that is what false teachers proclaim.

Nope, Nada, never. Don't listen to dead teachers that say "God want you to be rich", "You deserve it","Name and claim it." IF you deserve to be rich then so does every non-believer. God is no respector of persons. We deserve God's love, we don't even deserve salvation. So don't listen to any teacher that says as a Christian you are more special then anyone else.

No. He wants you to follow him. Most people who get great gain, have a tendency to not depend on Christ, but on there riches. It is not wrong to be rich, if you put God first.
---Rev_Herb on 5/5/07 ++++ in His love, word, spirit, forgiveness, knowledge of Him.. SPIRITUALLY rich, not materialistically..I AM rich in Him and I try to give this richness to others...( both spiritual and natural)

It's a question of being rich for others, not for yourself.
I remember going to a "service" and the preacher was going on about how He wanted a big house, and God gave it to him, and he boasted about the luxury car God had given him.
In fact his congregation had been bamboozled into paying for these things, and they were left in poverty.

Isn't there a verse in Luke, I beleive Luke 9-48 about Jesus saying that whoever has the least shall have the greatest?

Jesus wants me saved, amen? Actually, Jesus wants me to prosper and be in good health even as my soul prospers. As you prosper spiritually, you will prosper in the natural. Jesus filled Peter's boat with fish. Jesus fed five thousand with just a few fish. Jesus healed, and was always giving (prospering) in all His ways, amen? He never took anything away from anyone, but gave, even to the end, gave of HIMSELF for us, for mankind.

I agree with Rev Herb. It's not so much a question of rich or poor, but rather who do you serve? Man cannot serve two masters, God and money. To his master man will stand or fall. God will help you to stand.

(2.)Mom would read Scriptures to us,from time to time,Grannie, and Great-Grannie, were forever in the Word, forever reading the Bible,My Mom took us to church, one being a very Spirit filled old school "house church". Kid's are really something, God can easily reason with them! Jesus said that unless we become like children, we will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.I have mentioned before that my little one at age 3 pointed to the Bible and said "JESUS",and I never taught him that.

(1.)We must be rich in "heavenly things", rich in our souls. My mom said when I was a little girl, I told her she was "rich"(now, we were definitely not financially rich!), Now I don't even remember telling her that, but she did , she mentioned this recently, and she said she knew what I meant...

I am rich. I am a born again christian and have a mansion waiting for me. I am an heir to a King. I live in a nice house, drive a nice car, eat good food. Had a Godly dad and mom. I have everything I need or want and more. I have a good church with a fiery preacher that knows Gods Word and christian friends. Now, am I rich or what?????

Depends on what you mean by "rich."

Jesus said, "Sell all you have and give to the poor and come, take up your cross, and follow Me, and you will have treasure in heaven."

What do you think JESUS means by "rich?"
