Actual fire-I believe our present-day sun (which actually is a lake of fire) to be the lake of fire spoken of in the Bible. I first heard this teaching from a man named Estep. And after meditation and prayer I have accepted this teaching.

Kent JohnPaul2 ammended that out of date model of hell. The story was widely covered. I think it was a papal bull.

The big bang theorists were half right. It's just the bang happens at the end not the beginning. 1996 man discovers 53 billion galaxies up from the previously known 11 billion. 1996 pope says evolution builds faith. Einstein said the universe was contracting and expanding. Recent hubble photos of billions of galaxies so dense it looks like the inside of a lung. Eros on course to strike the Pacific ocean, plans to change it's course are in place.

Lake of fire. Fire is a process of burning fuel. The fuel is brimstone. Brimstone is Theion. God ionization. Ionization is a process of molecular conversion to ultimately release excess energy.. Quantum ionization is outside the range of the standard or classical model. Theion is the word for brimstone. You figure it out.

The Lake of Fire is separation from God in a sulfery pit of fire (Hell).
---Leslie on 1/7/07

Helen_5378 You said: "Toby - The Lake of Fire and Hell are one and the same." .--Helen, the Word says that Death, Hell, and whosoever's name that is NOT WRITTEN in the Book of Life, Will be CAST INTO the Lake of Fire at a certain point of time. (Revelation 20:14,15). God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 12/12/06

Toby - The Lake of Fire and Hell are one and the same.
---Helen_5378 on 12/12/06

Helen5378 Hi. Can you tell me where the lake of fire will be, and when will it be started.
Also where hell is and please supply scriptures to prove your points. Cheers
---Toby on 12/12/06

Toby - Wrong. Hell is forever. It is an actual fire and a separation from God. God is not the same as human fathers. God is a just God, and He has every right to throw everybody who refuses His Son Jesus into the Lake of Fire, which He will do.
---Helen_5378 on 12/11/06

Helen5378 If your child was a law breaker would you FOREVER send that child for punishment FOREVER in a fire FOREVER. I doubt that unless one had a cruel sadistic streak.I know my Father and Brother wouldnot do that to me, FOREVER being cruel. It's not Our Fathers or Our Saviours way, their way is love. Read Mal4:3 Ashes under their feet. Ashes, fire finished, punishment over, remembered no more. Punishment in love.
---Toby on 12/11/06

I'm sorry I was of the notion that no one knows what Hell really is because we have not been there. I am not arguing that there is or is not a HELL, I believe that there is. But I'm arguing the fact that we will not know what it is like because all the language is Symbolic.
---Jared on 11/9/06

The Lake of Fire is a literal fire. It is also eternal separation from God. Man puts himself there by rejecting Jesus' sacrifice of Himself on the Cross for sin. Only the Cross stands between man and hell. There will be many go to hell who will for all of eternity weep and gnash their teeth and wish they had listened and obeyed the Gospel. But it will be too late. Make a decision for Christ while you still have breath in you.
---Helen_5378 on 11/9/06

I am saying they aren't going to come to christ by saying that Hell is a litteral lake of fire. when every mention of Hell is symbolic. Hell is seperation seperation is bad. they choose it true. But if we don't spread the Gospel in love as Jesus did then they won't even listen. I turn off the radio when I hear sermons on Hell and guess what so do 90% of the people.
---Jared on 11/8/06

besides Hell is a consept that entered into the culture from outside influences it isn't mentioned in the Old Testament, only after the persians let Jews go back to Jerusalem do we begin to hear about Hell as a place of torment. Death before then is spoken as seperation until the Resurection those not resurrected stay in seperation from Life. or everlasting death.
---Jared on 11/8/06

Jared, if they have heard the gospel and rejected it, rejected Gods Gift, they are seperated already, what makes you think later they are going to care, if they are not being punished? where do you think those who are lost go? Pride is a terrible thing to overcome
Peace be with you

Thank you, Josef. That was awesome. Isaiah 5 says, "Hell hath enlarged herself." Always being enlarged, hell never finds satisfaction. Proverbs bears this out further by saying that there are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things that never say, "It is enough." Even the fire saith not, "It is enough."

The only satisfaction there is is the satisfaction of Father God with the sacrifice of the Son. Isaiah 53:11 says, "And He saw the travail of his soul and was satisfied." In the eternity of God, it is either His sacrifice or it is nothing but unfulfilled longing.
---Linda6563 on 11/8/06

I believe like several other theologians over the centuries that the lake of fire will be a place of total destruction for those who have rejected Christ; they will be there until they cease to exist.
---lee on 11/8/06

(I.)Jared , It's because some prefer to let the devil rock them asleep while they ignore the fact that such a place exist, It's really sad(Eph. 5:14). Those that prefer to dwell in darkness on earth, will have to dwell in darkness for all eternity. Hell must be a horrible place for Jesus to come down here, and suffer like He did, making it possible for more people then before(under the law) to avoid such a terrifying place.
---Mrs._Morgan on 11/8/06

(II.)Jared , ....Now that is LOVE, But Some Christians reject His Love, His Grace, they dont want to give up ALL DARKNESS, and so :(Isaiah 5:14), they will have to share hell "with the rest of disobedient humanity" and the devil and his demons(Matt. 22:14). Its ALL or nothing, when it comes to God, many have misinterpreted His Grace!

(III.)Darkness cant inheirt the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus came to expose the work's of the enemy(1 John 3:8),bring people out of darkness(the work's of darkness),only then can man avoid hell. God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 11/8/06

why do people not believe? it isn't because they hate God it's because they love themselves too much and want to control their own lives. God is pained when he is rejected. and he created a place for our seperation. but he doesn't send people there out of hate, but out of Love, because he loves us enough to let us choose to reject him. the pain in hell is realizing that you could have had abundance in Christ but rejected it and now you are left with Nothing.
---Jared on 11/8/06

Jared, if the world was coming to and end and the only way to save it was to sacrifice your son, you did and it was saved, then half said thanks, they rest thought you were nuts, but it was your tough luck, you showed you love for everyone and no one said thanks. you hold that decision to bring wrath upon those who did not accept the gift. are you going to let the death of your only son, for a bunch of people who don't care, go unpunished?
---kent on 11/8/06

Just think for a bit. do we marry a person we are scared of or that we love? Or did we get married to that person because we were afraid of what else might happen if we didn't? We marry because Of Love, and Ultimately those that accept christianity are not going to accept christ out of fear of hell but out of Love for God through Grace. I strongly question anyone's committment if they are only professing christ because they fear HELL!

I was save out in Grace, the love of christ saved me not the fear of hell.
---Jared on 11/6/06

Jared, if you believe that hell and the lake of fire are mearly a seperation from God, then what motivated you to get saved? you are saved are you not? and what would be the motivation for the unsaved man to get saved , he is already seperated from God.
Peace be with you
---Kent on 11/5/06

Lake of fire was an idea that Pharisees used to get people to follow them. Jesus used it to tell the pharisees that they are just as bad. Hell is Seperation Lake of fire is figurative, look at the context, and look at the history of the development of hell. I belive in hell, but I believe that it is seperation from God not a torture chamber.
---Jared on 11/4/06

don't be fooled, hell is eternal, burning and never being consumed, fervent heat, so dark you can not see your hand in front of your face, screaming, crying, nashing of teeth, begging for mercy, all in hell will have their 5 senses, then satan and hell are tossed in the lake of fire, the lake of fire has torments our mind can not grasp, and it is eternal, forever and ever and ever. it is written

Mat.25:41 The lake of fire is prepared for the devil & his angels. Neither of which has ever lived as mortals, nor possess an organic body born of woman. greetings ,after reviewing several comments,,,,the north american indian never knew nothing of adam and eve, moses's commandments or jesus' teachings of our Father until man traveled west with his bible and are all those who lived and died from the first existance of the red man and up till the teachings of Jesus has saturated the reservations are to be disposed of for their not knowing God, the Father of jesus?
---earl on 9/26/06

No it isn't cruel. It is just. And we serve a Just God. When someone rejects Jesus, they refuse his name and just like the ones that crucified him, the sinners now are also to blame.

On things sure, hell is a dreadful, torurous place that was designed as a punishment for Satan and his angels not man. When Adam fell he came under the law (Satan's judgment) that will legally condemn him to hell for sin. To legally free man, Jesus came under the law (became a man) and having been sinless he paid Adam's debt by his own death and freed us from the law. Then God could legally forgive our sins if He chose...and He did. As far as man's concerned, hell's a consequence of sin not a punishment.
---Okebaram on 9/24/06

I am dissapointed with some of the way some of the bloggers aloofly refer to the demise of the lost. Statements like: Bad news for the lost... seem very unsympathetic and calous to me. Mima, hell is not the sun; the sun is physical. And if it were to be hell the condemned will be operating in a physical existence, and ofcoures their bodies will evaporate before a minute goes by, based on the laws of physics.
---Okebaram on 9/24/06

jamea5375,(2.) ... God the Father and God the Holy Ghost also suffered. Jesus came to "deliver us from sin", teach us how to live, Walk in the Spirit, be victorious through Him/His Truth, yet many still reject His Saving Grace-Truth, and still embrace sin, God see's that as being "cruel and evil". God gives all space and time to repent, to receive Him, embrace His Truth, walk in His Truth, Continue in It, but those who refuse to do this,God can't receive them.
---Mrs._Morgan on 9/24/06

Hi jamea5375, (1.)Is eternal punishment in Hell cruel? God judges a person according to their works, good or bad, this proves that there are different levels of punishment in Hell. Now the question of Hell being cruel, It's cruel for people to dismiss the Love Sacrifice that Jesus made on the Cross, His precious Divine Blood Sacrifice, He suffered so much for us,to liberate us from all bondage, to offer mankind the "true born-again experience", a new heritage in Him...

Jamea...hell is a cruel punishment..but God doesn't send anyone there...God made a way through Jesus Christ that anyone could gain eternal salvation. People's descision to not accept Jesus sends themselves to hell.
---simone on 9/24/06

jamea5375 - what God has created He certainly had the right to destroy.
---lee on 9/24/06

Jamea5375 - No, it is not "cruel" for God to punish those who reject His Son Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free gift from God, and Jesus paid an awful price to obtain it for us. So those who reject Him do deserve to suffer for eternity. They would hate heaven because Jesus is there and they don't want Him.
---Helen_5378 on 9/24/06

the reason i asked this is could god, punish someone forever, would it not be cruel, does everyone believe that it kills the persons soul and that they will not suffer forever

Yes!. Its both. Bad news to the lost. Thats why we need to pray and spread the gospel to the lost.
---Ramon on 9/24/06

Hell is both an eternal fire and eternal separation from God. Nobody wants to go there. The Cross of Christ is the only thing standing between born-again Christians and hell.
---Helen_5378 on 9/24/06

Whether it is an actual lake of fire or something else, it represents a total horror - something that may be expressed as fire as that may be the worst thing we can imagine.
The question I would pose is whether the condemned would suffer forever in the lake of fire or eventually be consumed and cease to exist.
---lee on 9/23/06

Mima - That is a false teaching that you have embraced. The sun is the sun. Hell is hell. They are both separate places.
