Grace is unmerited (undeserved) favor. Humans are filthy sinners, that do NOT deserve salvation or Heaven (or anything good for that matter). Jesus had mercy and favor on us, by dieing on the cross and shedding His blood - so as to save us and give us a promise of Heaven. Jesus did this even though we did not and still do not deserve it. This is what TRUE grace is.

Grace is Jesus Christ. The unmerited favor of God. It's the opposite of the law. Under the law you were punished for your sins. Under Grace (living under the New Covenant) you are forgiven for your sins, washed by the shed blood of Jesus, cleaned from all unrighteousness.

I do not have A good understanding. Grace is Him helping us when He does not have to, Grace is His love for His people when He doesn't have to, Grace is His strength when we are weak, Grace is His forgiveness of our Sins when He does not have to, His grace in His keeping us when He does not have to. Understanding grace you could understand God. which is impossible. You can know Him. First and formost, Salvation for a few lost souls, Why me, I don't understand that.

One morning, several years ago, I went to an early church service I didn't normally go to--and I was still very sick from alcohol poisoning. To me, the Holy Spirit choosing to reside in me was pure grace. :) None of us deserve the blessing, obviously, and certainly not me, who was killing myself at the time. I'm still eternally grateful to God. :)

Christ is our EXAMPLE to FOLLOW. He (John 8:29)PLEASED the Father in ALL things. He Says SIN NO MORE, and (1 John 3:5-10) defines the Born-Again Christian. False Pastors Swear that we CANNOT Cease from Sin, but the Book of God (Rom. 6) Says that We'd Better. GRACE (Heb. 12:28) is given Whereby we may SERVE GOD ACCEPTABLY with Reverence and FEAR. (Rom. 12:1-2) We are to SACRIFICE our SINFUL Human Nature SO THAT we may DO THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD.

God pours out his Grace on the just and the unjust. Grace is waking up every morning. Grace is living everyday. Grace is the unmerited, undeserved, favor of God towards mankind.

Grace is the wages of mercy, just like the wages of sin is death.
---Nana on 12/3/06

Gods grace is his love and blessings and help, given to someone who absolutely does not deserve it. all of that can be boiled down to the effectual working of the Holy Spirit. the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, due to our faith in the finished work of Christ, is Gods grace.

God's grace is Jesus Christ; God's grace is his benevolence, goodness, mercy, pity, and lovingkindness.

Grace is the greatest gift humans can have. We have all left God yet he seeks to have a relationship with us. he is willing to give up everything for one person. We don't deserve it. If I was in God's place I couldn't give grace. Yet he Loves freely and offers that love to all that accept it.
---Jared on 11/7/06

we are saved by grace. But not in our faith but the faith of Jesus who freely gave him self for us. We can do nothing but fall maddly in Love for the God/Savior/Lord/Friend that gives us everything.
---Jared on 11/7/06

In a sermon I once heard, the pastor explained God's grace this way: God's Riches at Christ's Expense.
---wivv on 11/7/06

God's grace is when you are one with the lord-You feel it in satisfaction, joy, spreading love & happiness, complete peace within yourself,& in a heart beat that sends a ripple all over the water,as you gaze at it coming from within you. Then you are in HIS Grace.

Amen Okebaram! "His mercy triumphs over judgement"
---christina on 10/1/06

...When God gave all (Jesus, His Spirit, blessing and more) to those who had zero merit (the gentiles and all mankind), he gave grace, the perfection of mercy. Justice for us can no longer be to be fair to our we ourselves must show favor to the undeserving (grace).
Grace is a beautiful thing, the judgement of agape love.
---Okebaram on 9/30/06

Grace is unmerited favor, ie. unmerited reward. Grace is more than just mercy: it is the purest form of mercy. You see in the OT, God showed mercy ie favor that outweighs actual merit. It was just for the Israelites to at least be fair to others, ie favor that equals merit, because they merited some of God's favor, though very small. Cont'd...

God's grace toward me is His perfect love in sending His Son Jesus Christ to die on the Cross for me so that I can live for all of eternity with Him. God stopped me from going to hell by Jesus' death.

GRACE has no conditions of which on our part we must work to earn it. Grace is the opposite of works. When we stay still, His Grace works, when we work, His Grace is hindered. His Power works through us. We don't "work" through His.

Grace is a devine influence that works in the heart through Faith.GOD the FATHER looks on and relates to us through the Heart. 1Samuel 16:7But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.Give GOD PRAISE and GLORY.

God made us! We came from Him.
Once He spoke the way our life is to be... He could not go back on His word.
Sin-death-to hell. We were in trouble!
So, He made a way of escape for us from eternal punishment and suffering that we all were headed for. Jesus came face to face to us, turning us from sin to God with truth. Then He took our place of death. Accepting Him, His love - He died for us.
"For Us"!

That is Grace.

You know, Kath, I read Scriptures like, "He is able to keep you from falling" and think, "Why, oh why, do we sometimes try to keep ourselves by keeping the law?" :)
---Linda6563 on 9/26/06

He is an ever PRESENT help in time of need. It is a wise man to be full of God and be hungry for God at the same time. Such a paradox, but the more full of Him we are, the more we realize how much we need Him.
---Linda6563 on 9/26/06

By God's grace we are saved, not of ourselves, but a Gift of God. Our foundation of faith is God as the Creator, and we are His created beings. We are saved by faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are not saved by works, but without works we do not have a reflection of God's Glory in our lives.
