If we give more time looking to Christ we will spend less time on our faults.

Peter was a mess when Jesus changed his name to "rock" (they had just met) Jesus sees us for who we are becoming. Who He is molding us to be.

When a baby starts learning to walk we guide them on the right path, if they veer off we don't say "oh such a sinful baby" we know they are just learning, we just pick them up kiss them and try again. Just like God when we get older we may get our bottoms wacked, but still loved and sent on our way.

The best part is that when God looks on us He sees no sin.

We may have consequences but no condemnation.
My sins are forgotten all!!!past present future all gone.

Because we are weak. As God explains to me. As long as I keep confessing my sins to Him, He will forgive me.

We are redeemed by Christ and we have a new nature says Romans but we still have the flesh within us.

Why do Christians sin...

It's not impossible not to sin for it is written that with God, nothing is impossible. So why do we continue to sin? It's because Christians are weak especially during these end-times when each day our lives are inundated with temptations thousands of times a day. And when one tempting thought is repeated throughout the day, we tend to think about it more. And the more we think about it, the more likely it becomes sin. Today's tempations are the worse in all of history - having TV, radio, ipods, cell phones, internet, computers, movies, magazines, books, advertisements, commercials, etc.

Prayer: God lead me not into tempations.

Moses Stuart, says: A man's sin is and must be his own act, either internal or external, or both, and for men to be hamartoloi, they must be actively and voluntarily so. Another man's sin can no more be mine, than his soul can be mine, no more than his consciousness, will, affections, or disposition, can be mine. To impute them to me, then, must be to impute to me what in fact does not belong to me, what never did, and what never can. The candid advocates of imputation in its highest sense, concede this. But how much progress do we make in the knowledge of things, and in the explanation of important principles in theology, when we affirm that God counts that as existing which does not in reality exist, and which is in itself an impossibility?

The "Old-Man" or "New-Man" or "Old-Nature" or "New-Nature" is metaphorical or a figure of speech for voluntary and self-determined action or a moral state of being. What is sin? Sin is wrong action, rebellion, insurrection, disobedience, unrighteous, vice and wickedness. To characterize or describe wrong action, is to assign, or ascribe moral characteristics, attributes, and qualities to the moral act. A sinful-character, nature, disposition, and temperament, describes and characterizes the mode, manner or way of life, a person lives, by being sinful.

This is a Good one but easy. everyone thingks that we are guilty untill proven innocent but actually its the other way around. As children we are innocent. the people who raise us can pretty much lead us in the way that we should go. So when your older and you have done all of these things that has never killed you and it feels good to do it, you do it over and over again thinking that god is gonna forgive you so O well. But I dont think so my friends. We will be judged. God knows your true hearts desires and if you will do it again. It is possible to live wothout doing sin.since we live in this sinful world then its always gonna be hard.If we all received chirst and never wanted to do sin again then WOWOWOWOWOW everyone would be saved!
---Kiannah on 12/27/08

Timothy, Sin and its nature or character is self-caused. What is "Sin"? It is not a substance like a solid, gas, liquid, DNA or ATOMS, or some mysterious thing that is behind the will, it is a voluntary commitment to a pursuit of self-gratification in a forbidden manner.
---TRU-DOG on 12/27/08

Do you believe Gods Sovereignty is the cause of all good and evil? Is man free to choose God and His will freely or is it forced? If God caused all evil, would He not be evil Himself? Is the will really free, if it is doing only what God determined or caused, would this not be reducing moral agents to a mere machine. Is it not infinitely absurd, to require duty from a being who is forced to act, and then condemn him for acting a certain way. Moral character cannot be ascribed or assign to a being who is forced to act, no more than the actions or motions of a windmill.
---TRU-DOG on 12/26/08

I think we sin because we are mere humanbeings and have to make choices all the time and even if you are walking with the Spirit, you will still make bad choices. If we didnt ever sin, we wouldnt need Jesus. As a matter of interest, do you believe that there is big sin and small sin?
---maria on 12/22/08

Leslie the reason that Jesus accused people (not all, but some) of sin, is that they were sinners before they met him. He met them at the point in their life when Jesus wanted to change them into non-sinners. That was his whole mission. You have turned Jesus into an OT goat or bull. Kill the bull or goat, wash yourself in the blood, and go on sinning. Sorry, but that won't work any longer. Jesus died once and for all. If you notice, he also rose again, to prove he was who he said he was. Old things are passed away, and we are now new people in Christ, minus the sins because we no longer walk in disobedience. Anyone who disagrees is not reading the whole Bible but just cherry picking verses.

Lisa, You have my vote...I like how you think. Keep thinking on the great truths, of Gods Word, and share your thoughts. "we sin because we have the option to sin just as Adam did before the fall. When lost we sinned all the time and was our nature to sin and had no inclination for God. We were slaves to sin. Now, as Christians we do know God, slaves no more, which means we know good and evil, because God has not done away with sin completely. We are given a Helper in the Spirit, rules, guideness, teachings of God's word, and most of all love that we did not have before when lost".
---TRU-DOG on 12/20/08

Disobedience(walking in the flesh) and obedience(walking in the spirit) may be intermitten, sometimes you obey and at other times you disobey, these may succeed each other, an indefinite number of times, but coexist they cannot. Obedience and disobedience are opposite moral states of choice, you must drop the one, and pass into the other, present moral choice cannot coexist with an apposing moral choice. When you obey God you are sin free. I believe in total freedom of sin, when you obey Jesus Christ, you cannot love God and hate Him at the same time, love and hate are eternal opposites, you cannot serve two masters.ect
---TRU-DOG on 12/19/08

Leslie, All sin is self-caused, it is free choice, not caused ontologically or caused by a in-born nature that is sinful. Adam had a free-will or free-agency, he was tempted and choose to sin. We have a free-will or free-agency, and we get tempted, and we sin, just like Adam. Adam was the first to sin, and we are sinning today, just like him, by choice. This is the moral history of the human race. Just like Adam and the human race, we have a personal moral history of sinning.

Sin is the NATURE of EVERY person. Romans 3:10-18,23, Romans 5:12. The ONLY one that is WITHOUT sin is Jesus. ALL people sin on a DAILY basis. This is why it is NECESSARY to confess and repent (turn from) your sins on a DAILY basis. Then ask the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you on a DAILY basis. Then you will be truly walking in the spirit.
---Leslie on 12/15/08

Why do we sin? Sin is self-caused, it is when you voluntary choose indulgences or gratification, of natural desires, over the will of God, for self-satisfaction or self-gratification. When you put self-indulgeces, or self-gratifications over God's Plan you sin.
---TRU-DOG on 12/13/08

Why do some Christian's sin? Disobedience/rebellion(lukewarmness), failure to yield, for starters(Matthew 5:6)(James 1:12-16)(1 Corinthians 10:13)(Psalm 119:11)(1 John 3:5-10). God won't force Christian's to yield, they must willing do this. God only helps those that don't resist His Holy Spirit(Romans 6:12-14)(John 8:36).

There is a Native story a boy said to his grandfather I had a horrible dream. The boy said I dreamt that inside of me where 2 wolves one was horrible, fighting, growling mean the other calm, quiet and beautiful I was afraid because I feel these 2 wolves like they are inside of me at times which one will win. The wise grandfather said it is easy my grandson the one that will win is the one that you feed. That is sin with us.Jesus gave us a way out but if we want to feed, wallow in sin then it will win.

In Rom. 8:2-3, it tells us that we are free from the law of sin & death, and that sin & death has been condemned in the flesh. Our soul is free from sin & death but our flesh is still subjected to it; making us sinner. Walking in the Spirit, our hearts are with Christ. So as we walk in the Spirit, being part of the Body of Christ, we keep our soul pure & holy. As we take that pure word of God from our hearts and plant it in the world it becomes subject to sin & death; as everything in the flesh is.

(3). So see Eloy, all of us are being yielded by the hand of God, even your beliefe in your phantom free will. God has got us all right where he wants us. And as for your eternal hell, you had better be carefull for what you believe. If you think that God is such a hard man; that He reap harvests where he didnt plant, and he gather crops where he didnt scatter seed, and he will burn people in hell for ever. But God might say to you, out of your own mouth I will judge you.
---Billy on 10/15/06

(1). Eloy, Pro.16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Gods hand was involved with Joseph's brothers selling him into slavery. Gen 45:5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

Its God who put Joseph in this situation so that he would could interprete the dream that would place him in power with Pharaoh so that he could preserve life.

(2). Gen 41:40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

Eloy, you fight hard against Gods sovereign hand, even your false teachings are of God. Your heresy is needed her, so that they that are approved may be made manifest among you..

1Co 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

As Christians we have a responsibility to surrender to the Lord.In Romans 6 the only Law the Christian is under is:
To Know
To Reackon
To Yield.
Our old adam nature was crucified with Christ. Our New Nature is in-lawed to Jesus Christ. It is the New Nature that is to growing in the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus Christ. The New Nature needs the milk of the Word to grow, and then goes on the the meat.
We don't try to keep the Law. Jesus Christ KEEPS US through the Perfect Law of Liberty: Grace.
---kathr4453 on 10/15/06

2. As Christians we do have a responsibility, to be obedient to the laws of God. We are now responsible for all our actions. We do wrong many times knowing we are, which is rebellion, but other times we sin and don't even realize it but it's sin nevertheless. God wants to change us and does through the power of the Holy Spirit to be more Christlike. The lost is not responsible for obedience, He doesn't obey God because he doesn't know God.

We error in our thoughts & responses due to an on going renewing of a mind that at times focuses externally in an areas of our carnality yet to be defined & renewed by an embraced truth & acts based on those external perceptions. When truth concerning any error in our lives is recognize, defined & embraced the error is dispelled & we move on the next. Willful sin is a blatant disrespect for what the Father has done for us as believers & we are careful to avoid that, prompted & empowered by His Spirit.

billy, you really are adept at corrupting the scripture. One, Joseph's brothers were 100% responsible for what they freely did to Joseph; and two, not all will go to heaven, for God also made a very real and literal eternal hell for sinners.
---Eloy on 10/14/06

.billy, because God turns evil situations around to bring good out of it does not mean the same thing as God created the evil situation, for that would mean that people are mere robots or pawns of God, and they have no free will to choose to do good or to do evil. No billy, we each are held 100% responsible for our actions and will be judged accordingly, whether we do good onto heaven, or bad onto hell.

(4). Maybe that is why you will find the word 'responsible,' nowhere at all in scripture. But you will find these words:

Mat 12:36
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Joseph tormented his brothers in his own presence. But he did it for their good. In the end, he held them accountable, but he did not hold them responsible for their own evil actions against him.

---Billy on 10/13/06

(5). Gen 45:4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
Gen 45:5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

Josephs brothers suffered many long years even after Joseph revealed himself to them. But in the end Joseph saved his entire family from certain death in a famine.
---Billy on 10/13/06

(1). No one has to twist our arm to sin. You don't force a dog to bark, a cat to meow, a rooster to crow, or a man or woman to lust after each other.

A dog barks willingly, a cat meows willingly, a rooster crows willingly and men and women volunteer to lust after each other in their hearts. All of these things come from the heart. And this is how God created 'the heart.'

Psa 51:5 Behold, I was shapen [It is God who shapes us] in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

(3). Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

All of Christendom believes the words of Billy Graham, in the National Cathedral immediately following the fall of the World Trade Towers: "God does not make evil." God Has literally blinded the eyes of all the ministers of Babylon to this truth:

All of this being true, God holds man responsible for nothing.

(7). I am certain that Joseph's brothers were very glad that they were not responsible for their actions. They, as all men will be, were held accountable for the things that the Great Cause of all things, had caused them to do.

Sue, be strong. God sees you and knows your needs. When all this is over, we all will be with Jesus in his kingdom. God bless

(6). At the end of it all Joseph, a type of Jesus Christ, gives us a most remarkable revelation of the purpose for all evil:

Gen 50:20 But as for you [all mankind], ye thought evil against me; but God meant it [all evil] unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much [all] people alive.
Gen 50:21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

#1 This qestion reminds me of the term 'sinful flesh'. Flesh became sinful at the fall of man, it was not created sinful. Our soul, the authority of our being, was tempted by the lies of Satan. Inside mans soul he chose to disobey and the power of the Holy Spirit left man resulting in man becoming spiritually dead, a fallen creature, clothed in filthy wrags of flesh.
---Ryan on 10/13/06

#2 It is not that the Christian sins it is the existence of the flesh that is contrary & sinful to the Lord. If we choose to submit to the flesh we become sinners, unclean souls. Personally I like becoming salt & light, a holy saint unto the Lord.
