If he is backsliding "all the time" that indicates that he has periods during which he climbs forwards.
We all backslide at times.

Why would you want to marry a backslider? You should be marrying somebody who is a Christian who is grounded solidly in Christ and is mature in the Lord. A backslider will give you a hard time.

Why would you want to? Wouldn't you be unequally yoked and don't you think that would cause problems? Unless you're willing to compromise your walk, don't marry that person who is backsliding all the time. Why are they backslidding? Do they really know Jesus? Because "If you know Him, you love Him, and if you love Him, you don't want to walk away from Him, so I ask, does your friend really KNOW Jesus and LOVE Him?"

U can do anything U want but is is right? No it is wrong. He must learn to stand and stand strong. A oak is strong but when the hurricane comes it breaks a Palm is not strong but when the hurricane comes it will bend even down to the grown and bounce back to live on. If he is not "whole" then U can not make him whole. 2 wounded people can not heal each other they wallow in their misery neither helping the other and he can also bring U down.

2nd answer I grew up on a farm. I had a swift, hot tempered, pretty,Arabian horse they are small but spirited. We had a Shire a huge, calm, gentle, work horse. If we would have yoked those 2 up to work the field it would not have worked. They even could have hurt each other. Both are horses/made for diff. reasons even though the same species could have even bred & had a foal yet cant work together. they could not pull together. The same in your situation U can not pull together no matter how U try.

I like Crystal's answer and especially Rebecca_D's answer: "I meant what I said..." . We must stand firmly in God's Truth. God Bless!

(II.)I also agree with Donna9759 and joan4689 about this. God Bless!

Why would you want to?
---Crystal on 10/23/06

I meant what I said. If she isn't standing on God's word firmly, she can backslide easily. Making the spirit in her weak.

If you are truely Christian you love Christ. Because you love Christ you wouldn't marry another who doesn't walk with Him as you do and be unequally yoked.

Whoa, there Rebecca_D, how could the spirit in a Christian be weaker than a spirit anywhere? You surly didn't mean your statement that way did you?
A person who "backsides" ALL of the time probably NEVER slid forward.
Any person who calls themselves a Christian and is not bothered by their involvement in sin has never been Saved the Bible way.

No. One of two things will happen, the spirit in him could be stronger than the spirit in you and pull you back into sin. Or the spirit in you is stronger and you pull him to God.

Well put, Alan! :-)

What is this person going through that is making them lose touch with God? Be honest ok.

This is needed to better answer your question.

Some people's idea of backsliding is another's idea of enjoying life, we all operate at different levels and this is why the Bible tells us not to be unequally yoked.

You should wait for him to straighten out and mature. (you can help him if you like) but I would wait on God for someone with more likeness to my own ideal.
