Colossion 2:18

Let no man beguile you of your reward with a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels intruding into those things which he has not seen vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.

To answer your quetion, You don't say anything- that would be gossip- this is the bait that satin puts in front of Christians to cause them to sin by the thoughts, then their speech, for some by their actions.

A person who talks to their angel/s must be misled. We are to talk to God, not angels.

"This seems to be yet another singled out verse that an entire belief is built upon."

mikefl, do you not believe that we have angels that guard us? Matthew 18:10 is clear that we do have angels. Hebrews 1:14 describes how angels are sent to help those who are saved. Then in Psalm 91:11 it says "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." Sounds like guardian angels to me.

I just re-read Mat.18:10 about the angels of the little ones being before the Father. How does anyone get the idea these are "guardian angels"? There is no referral to them guarding anyone. They are ministering to God as would our spirit in prayer. This seems to be yet another singled out verse that an entire belief is built upon.

May as well just talk to yourself. Talking to angels is not Biblical. In fact it sounds cult-like.
---Helen_5378 on 10/26/06

Okebaram....How does one command angels? Do you have scripture to support this statement?
---irene on 10/25/06

Ahh, angels. Those winged creatures who are weaved throughout the Bible including most of Revelation. We are to ask God for help in the name of Jesus and we are guided by the Holy Spirit. What more do we need? But what happens when God asks you to do something and you ignore Him? Does He send a person into your life? Does He send a donkey? Does He send an angle to give you a wack on the side of your head? God works in mysterious ways, eh?
---Steveng on 10/25/06

Thanks, Earl, I just wanted to make sure that my concordance wasn't missing the word "guardian." Kind of like that word "rapture", isn't it? Thanks!
---Susie on 10/25/06

Angels are here to help us and give us messages from God, but we aren't allowed to pray to them. And we must remember that not every angel is of God. After all, the devil was once an angel of light and he does transform himself into what he once was. We are to test them to see if they are in agreement with the Word of God. Also, we must be careful not to worship angels. Remember what the angel said to John in Revelation 19:10?

greetings, for susie,'guardian angels'was coined way back in time, that is it is not a recent phrase.concordance "their angels" in matthew.if no concordance then ask me again.our angels remains to this day with us and true to their name, guardian.
---earl on 10/24/06

Earl...Please tell me where the scripture is about guardian angels. Thanks.
---Susie on 10/24/06

A conversation with a real angel will be initiated by that angel. It is God (Father, Son and/or Spirit) whom you may attempt to initiate a 2-way conversation with. A true angel will not establish a personal relationship with you: he will neither tell you his name or imply that he is your exclusive guardian, so as not to take any glory that should be given to God. He also will not accept worship or praise. You can command angels, not pray to them. They intend to serve us.
---Okebaram on 10/24/06

Worship of angels is idolatry. We're not to seek out communication with angels.
Let no on defraud you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind. Col. 2:18
---Raine on 10/24/06

I thank God for the angels in my life. God sent them to me. Many times, I believe they come to me in the form of other people. I don't thank the angels, but I thank God.
---Marietta on 10/24/06

Why talk to the helpers when you can go right to the boss?
---Donna9759 on 10/24/06

A person should desire to talk to the Lord, rather than an angel. I would encourage the person to talk to Jesus instead, for one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

greetings,for donna,"their angels"is in matthew.
---earl on 10/23/06

greetings, everyone has a guardian not fear them if you chance to meet them.
---earl on 10/23/06

All angels from God are messengers. His heavenly Angels bring direct communication or action from God. His earthly ministry angels preach good tidings and words of admonishment from God's word. There are verses where conversations took place with Angels/angels, why should it be different today? As to a "personal" angel? I find no scripture for them existing or for Angels singing. Only in the story books & drawings of women with wings... i.e. guardian angels.
---mikefl on 10/23/06

I think that speaking to "one's"angel is a bit strange but speaking to angels in a more general context is ok for we must remember that the Bible tells us that angels can/do appear in the form of ordinary people. Heb. 13:2. P.

earl -- Jesus recognized angels... but I don't recall the teaching you said Jesus gave about angels...where is that in the Bible?
---Donna2277 on 10/23/06

I say they are no different that a person who talks to someone who isn't there. They have a serious mental problem. This is just another example of all these false doctrines going around about angels. It has gotten to the point where some people's homes are shrines to angels and not to God.
---Susie on 10/23/06

Give the person Deuteronomy 6:15 "the Lord thy God is a jealous God" and tell them they are suspose to talk and pray to only God in Jesus Name. Thinking one talks to angels opens the door for familiar spirits to get a foothold in that person's life. They also seem to have a fairytale mentality, looking for the supernatural in wrong places, instead of to our SUPERNATURAL God.
---Darlene_1 on 10/23/06

Angels are ministering spirits...they do as God directs. To speak to angels is idolatry just as praying to saints is.

greetings, did not jesus say in reference to the little children,"their angels".now adults, are not those same angels we had when we were children as they were children remain with us as they remained with them?is it poor spirit vision not to see with the eyes of faith who are true guardians of our destiny, our future home in heaven?many teaches man to fear the angels that encourage man to march upward to his eternal home in heaven.i understand who "their angels" are.
---earl on 10/22/06

It's one thing to be hospitable to strangers as Hebrews 13:2 says; but, to actively seek communication with angels may well open one up to demonic, not Godly influence.
---Leon on 10/22/06

Do the angels speak back? Does this person claim to know the names of these angels? Sounds demonic or ignorant.
---Okebaram on 10/22/06

Why speak to an angel?
God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers ... in these last day has spoken to us in His Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom He made the world. And He [Jesus] is the radiance of His [God's] glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He made purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become much better than the angels... Heb 1:1-5

God's angels listen and are obedient to God's authority. They guide, protect, comfort and minister. Bible clearly says not to seek communication with angels. We are not to seek visions of angels. Angels are devoted to God. They serve and glorify God. They carry out God's will.
