Benny Hinn As A Leader

I went to "youtube" website and typed in Benny Hinn to watch a few of his videos. As a new Christian, I want to know if this is normal behavior for Christian leadership? Is this what I am to learn to do?

Gordon, Why do you say this? What has he done, or not done?
---Whisper on 11/29/07

Benny Hinn started out as a true christian leader but he has apostacized from the Truth. Probably for the sake of Fame and Money.
---Gordon on 11/29/07

This happened to me!!! Once after praying for a lady, I saw this lady get up and walk around and finally push her wheelchair back to the pew where her husband was setting. About two weeks later this lady was back in her wheelchair. Another man from outside our church came and prayed for her, she got up out of her wheelchair and has been out ever since. Conclusion I do not have the gifts of healing. Apparently the other men does have.
---Mima on 11/28/07

Blessings to you jimmy, I know someone who recently went to see BH, was in a wheelchair, claimed that BH healed them, walked for about a week, and is now back in a wheelchair. Go to Almighty God. We have a Great Physician, JEHOVAH- RAPPHA, God. Go straight to Him my friend, with believing Faith and thank Him for hearing you. God Bless friends!
---Cynthia on 11/28/07

One thing's for sure: Benny Hinn is a Palestinian who made good and got rich by depending on gullible Christians.
---InimicusStultitiae on 11/27/07

I will not speak about BH, as I dont really know him. However, has anyone ever read the Book Of Acts? Many people afflicted with all sorts of infirmities were brought to Peter & Paul to receive healing through faith. Laying on hands is biblical!

(Acts 19:11-12) And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
---Mr._Graham on 11/27/07

Jimmy, God bless you brother I hope Christ will accept you as a disciple and you will be submissive and obedient to the Holy Spirit. Benny Hinn is not a Christian leader and he is no one to aspire to be. Be like Paul and be like Christ but do not look to the televangelists or the radio personalities and certainly never rely on another man (Consider all men liars) for advice. Rely only on the Father, Son & Holy Spirit for teaching and direction. God bless you my beloved brother.
---Ryan on 11/27/07

Helen U are right U live and learn and go on. U cant put your eyes on any person any where they fail- we fail- so U learn to watch God he doesnt fail.
---Jeanne on 11/27/06

Benny is nothing more than a con man. No where in scripture does Christ or the disciples go around knocking people to the ground healing them. BEsides, I knew of a guy who went to 3 different places and saw him live in just 1 month. Several of those healed those days were the same that was healed before. If he healed them once, why did they have to healed again and again in only one month?
---Jerry on 11/27/06

he said we're all little messiahs walking on earth=false teacher
---r.w. on 11/18/06

Want to go to a good video about tele-evangelists? Rent "Leap of Faith". It will open your eyes.... Not to say there are no real God sent ministers/evangelists. There ARE. But also realize there's a mark born every minute and two to take him.
---mikefl on 11/13/06

Jeanne - Amazing but not so. I never went to one of his crusades. Stopped watching him too. There might be others here though that you "seated".
---Helen_5378 on 11/12/06

Helen oh I defiantly believe U --as people we all use certain cliches or sayings so I do believe you that he said it then and probably other places also. Helen how small the world is do U realize I could have spoken to U if U called the ministry or sat by U, or even seated U? How funny huh?
---Jeanne on 11/11/06

Jeanne - Maybe that was another occasion that you are talking about. Not that it really matters, but when I heard him say it he was on stage at one of his crusades.
---Helen_5378 on 11/11/06

One has to remember, that where there is money involved there is some corruption, Even in churches. Nothing is perfect. That shouldn't keep us from giving to charities and our local church.
---wayne on 11/11/06

Helen that curse I remember it was in CA at TBN studio. I remember it because I had to fax the "list" of people coming from the office in Orlando. I did "cringe" I think he mentioned a "holy Ghost machine gun" or something like that too on that program or another. But he was my boss and one is not in control of what the boss says. We did get calls, letters galore on that!He was so easy to like that it was hard to stay mad at him, people just like him.

Susie, U serious about the salvation army? I mean I understand all things need money to work, pay staff, lights, food etc. But I have always loved the Salvation Army it reminds me of the start of Christmas! My "agreement" wasnt about money it was peoples very personal info. such as phones, names of entire family, where they live, plane tickets all that type of private info. I still believe in giving where God leads U even if they are "wrong' Your heart was in the right place.
---Jeanne on 11/10/06

I understand appropriate business, identity protecting, security measures by a ministry, and appreciate that personal financial information is confidential. However, a clause that says you cannot go to the press... that makes me particularly suspicious. I also think it is a MUST that ministries be financially accountable... there has been far too much abuse that has ended up in the press... accountability kind of nips that kind of stuff in the bud.
---daphn8897 on 11/10/06

Nobody needs to go to any other person to be healed. They just need to go to God. If a televangelist needs a signed confidentiality agreement with any of his/her staff, they are hiding something. When I worked for the Salvation Army I had to sign such an agreement which read that we could not disclose any of their "trade secrets" within two years after leaving their employment. Think about that. It's all about the money.
---Susie on 11/10/06

I dealt w/private info. peoples phone/address/names. I also kept the #'S/ w/private info. I also knew his family & he was like a lion w/them. I had private numbers, address etc. Knew his travels his "check in name" I did crusades, tapings,Israeli trips w/his bro famous guests that need to come/go w/out being swarmed . So that is the reason no dirt -just protection. U know how people can be they is why the clause. I personally saw no dirt.

My father could not walk w/out a cane/back brace. Dad did not keep his eyes on BH but Christ, BH prayed & dad has not used a cane/back brace. A Docs wife had MS she did not believe but thought whatever I went w/her again no faith but she is healed & that was 7yrs ago. I could name many others. Is it BH no it is many things Gods mercy, all the people in 1 place praying/singing/praising & calling on God etc. But healing does still happen today, not thru a person only God but he does use people as vessels.
---Jeanne on 11/9/06

Jeanne, I've been employed at/worked for 3 ministries over the past 20 or so years. Only one required me to sign a contract stating that I wouldn't talk to the press, etc. I found out the hard way that was because they had an awful lot to hide - many questionable activities and actions by the leadership - especially concerning finances. So, that is a big red light to me. Also, I don't believe BH's ministry is a part of ECFA.
---daphn8897 on 11/9/06

Yes Helen. I think BH would be a great person to talk to on a 1 to 1 basis. he has a great personality, but when he is in front of an audience something changes. Thats why we must read the bible for ourselves and have Godly discernment when it comes to tv preachers. We must have a good home church. That will be suficient.
We all know that putting a curse on people is not of God.
---wayne on 11/9/06

Wayne - I actually heard Benny on television a few years ago place a curse on people. He said "Alright Lord, I will do it. I place a curse on anyone who raises a hand against this ministry" (words to that effect). Scary at the time because I was a baby Christian. Now I know better. God does not curse people.

Look up Benny Hinn Ministries on Ministry Watch it is an excellent tool to evaluate programs you are considering supporting. I also would use it for other Tele-evangelist. There is still a donor alert out for Benny Hinn Ministries his program has major financial irregularities. There is a 3 page donor alert pdf file on Ministry Watch about Benny Hinn Ministries.

My thought was that people who claim to heal through God and Christ would be better suited in Countrys that have little hope.Perhaps God intended to heal people,Spiritually,Physically and Mentally through People like Benny Hinn in the poorest nations where Christ Himself would have gone.I believe that Jesus would have done that very deed had he been among us in body today. Thankyou for replying.
---George on 11/8/06

What is "normal" for Christian leadership? Some earlier answers show it. The Bible is normal. Those who use hype, promise much if you send money, wear catchy suits, drive, no, make that are driven in limos with body guards and make a big show of their position are getting their reward. It is a shame so many people give life savings to these jet set world wide travelers. How much does a "crusade" to Africa, Egypt, or Mississippi cost with a troope and equipment? Back to the Bible...
---mikefl on 11/8/06

George, BH has been to Africa,India, Asia, Europe, etc. etc. He is Greek/Armenian but born in Israel hence his name Benedictus Tarek Hinn oldest boy from a big family w/1 older sis they moved as kids to Canada- married an American who's parents were from England. So he has many travel miles. He doesnt heal God does. I worked for him cant speak about that due to a contract but other things yes. All his family got saved thru his salvation & all the boys are preachers but the youngest who is in business.

Jimmy it cant be hypnosis. He called me up once at a staff meeting I can be stubborn hey I am being truthful. I determined in my mind a 1000x's I wont fall. He didnt even touch me or say a word & boom I was on the ground. I dont know how I got there-but there I sat. So I can not explain it. Maybe God was showing me "I was to big for my britches" & let me fall due to "my pride" of saying no way I am not going down, who knows but I went down didnt even feel myself fall or hit the floor.
---Jeanne on 11/8/06

People never heal whether a doctor, shaman, pastor, positive thinker/whatever. Now he does use us as vessels and he wants to work thru us but it is always God from the common cold to cancer he gives us knowledge, skill, talent but & it is He who does the miracles. When I worked for BH he would say a 100x's I do not heal Jesus is the healer, yet people would say oh BH just healed me or I am still sick BH did not heal me. No no God is always the healer, uses people yes but the "power" is always His.
---Jeanne on 11/8/06

How can someone show off if it is truly the Holy Spirit? Are these people hypotised by Benny Hinn?
---Jimmy on 11/8/06

I worked w/BH. The coat he "tossed/swung"or yes even hit not hard like a linebacker. I asked he mentioned the Elijah/Elisha w/the mantel (no he did not equate himself w/them)his key people told him how it looked he stopped. He loved to read tons -one was Smith Wigglesworth & Smith once hit a man. I think he had cancer of the stomach how hard who knows maybe a slight punch like friends do - but lots of people have "quirky" ways, but in todays world U have to watch that or U get sued.

Yes, Jimmy, I watched that video. I have seen this man on TV many times. He was not hitting them with force. They coat barely touched them, but there is a powerful force that knocks them down. They believe it is the Holy Spirit or power of God that is knocking them over. He was showing off with his coat in that video.
---Gena8493 on 11/8/06

You have all made Benny Hinn a very rich man. If he had GODLY powers? Would God not send him to Africa and the poorer Nations to heal? Maybe if they had money to give him?
---George on 11/8/06

#3 My friend's husband did not get any better. He died. He was not healed. Also I've always objected to Benny pushing people over. Well, my friend says that he doesn't push you over. He barely touches you, almost like a butterfly landing on you; but you cannot stand up. The children said the same thing.
---Gena8493 on 11/8/06

Maybe we watched a different video. The video I watched was about 45 seconds long and it looked like he hit about 50 different people and then they would fall. Did you watch that video?
---Jimmy on 11/8/06

#1 He wasn't really hitting them. He used to swing his coat at the audience, no where near touching them, many feet away up on stage, and hundreds of people would fall down. No, he wasn't mad at them. It is supposed to be waving his garment and the power of God hitting them.
---Gena8493 on 11/8/06

#2 I had a friend whose husband was in last stages of liver cancer. They borrowed money to go to Maryland to see Benny Hinn so he would pray for the husband. He so believed that if Benny prayed for him, he would be healed.
---Gena8493 on 11/8/06

Did you watch the video of Benny Hinn hitting people with he suit jacket? Is this normal? Was Benny Hinn mad at these people?
---Jimmy on 11/8/06

Okay, I found the correct "Benny Hinn." I watched several of the videos. The one "Benny Hinn examined" which lasted 41 minutes, 30 seconds revealed a lifestyle that I believe the Lord would not approve. It was very sad indeed. No, you should not follow after and be like Benny Hinn.

You didn't locate anything because his name is Benny Hinn not Binny Hinn. Try again.
---Jimmy on 11/7/06

I went on Youtube and searched for Binny Hinn. There was none found. So, is this a trick question? I tried it twice.
---Gena8493 on 11/7/06

I have watched more of Benny Hinn in the past than I want to think about. I don't care to watch him any longer. Although we are not to judge other people, we are certainly supposed to judge the fruits. YOU WILL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS.
---Sally on 11/7/06

I want to know if anyone viewed the first few videos on "youtube"? Is this Christian leadership? Until you view the videos, you don't know what I am talking about specifically. Thanks.

Benny Hinn is a fake and a false prophet. What he does is not bible based. I would stay away from him. Type in your brouser "Benny Hinn false prophet" and see what you get.
---Rev_Herb on 11/7/06

.ryan, all men are not liars: there are liars and truth-tellers: I John 3:6-1. In Romans 3 Jews are compared to nonJews, and shown that they were alike in the sense that they both likewise sinned. Paul was saying that the unbelief of unbelievers does not make the faith of God of no effect: "Engender this not! but come to be God whom true, and all peoples erring, according as it has been written, So that you can be justified in them words of you, and you victorious in the judgment." Romans 3:4.
---Eloy on 11/7/06

for me, no one has the right to judge a person if he's a good leader or not, whether they are mentioned in the bible or they are seen in tv. we as CHRISTians should follow christ alone. we are to submit to His leadership and not anyone else. to everyone: one thing i know, our goal is to follow Jesus and His goal is to lead us. God Bless us all:)
---ann on 11/7/06

the fundraising aspect with some people is way out of control...they live like kings...(Jesus did"nt did he).....find people who love Christ first not many things will pop up to try to sway you away from Jesus......soon after time you will be able to tell real christians from fakes...the early church dealt with it......keep that nose in the Book!

You'll heard what BH said, "if you put your hand against him, he'll put a curse on you.
I'm not going to say anything. My lips are sealed....

I worked for Benny Hinn,I know dont throw stones until I put my helmet on ok now U can. I am not allowed to comment on hardly anything due to a confidentiality clause which lasts 7 yrs if memory serves me. I will say is he is funny, bright, easy to like,& he loves his wife/children. He treated me great& a gentleman & kind.My ex was violent/ignored our sons b-day. When Benny found out he bought my son a present, he then said he mentioned my sons name in prayer daily and would ask of him always.
---Jeanne on 11/6/06

I also agree w/what people have said learn to be like the tried and true ones such as Paul, David, Peter, Abraham etc. Ministers of today watch and learn many lessons good, bad and ugly- but always model after Jesus and the people in the Bible. Keep your eyes on Christ remember men are just that men.
---Jeanne on 11/6/06

On "youtube" folks misuse things. It's wise to stay in the word(2Timothy 2:15; Romans 12:2). Also fellowship with other christians who are strong in the faith. The miracles seen in Benny Hinn's ministry are real & you, as a christian, have the same authority to do the same.(Mark 16:17-18) Just keep on seeking the Lord & fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit.(Jeremiah 29:11-13; 2Corinthians 13:14)
