A true Christian understands that they are saved only by the skin of ones teeth, Been bought by the Blood of Christ, Listens to God's voice and obey. A true Christian realizes that they are nothing without God. A true Christian is more concern with their own sins than someones elses. A true Christian will endure pain and suffering until the end for Jesus Christ. I hope this helps.

The Golden Rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Love one Another.

marila: "...and a Christian is very honest, doesn't tell can trust him/her..and when he/she says means that is the truth..."

I know a lot of nonChristians who are what you say.

laure5759: "Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Love your neighbour as yourself."

I agree wholeheartedly with Laure. Unfortunately, most people, including most Christians, don't know HOW to love, except, of course, for themselves (only) and their worldly possessions.

I was wondering if you were on break from the OSAS/YCLS blogs, didn't see your name, but now I do.

Bob, why do you ask about me? Do you need to ask me something?

A Christian is a TRUE Follower of Jesus Christ kown only to Himself & God & not what he or she says.

Hello Nana, have you seen Matthew lately?
---Bob on 5/29/07

i could..i think a Christian loves God and the people..and a Christian is very honest, doesn't tell can trust him/her..and when he/she says means that is the truth..

There is no way to truly know how Christians should act or how to identify them but we will be found out soon if we are counterfeits. Christians should be loving to God and others, compassionate, help the poor and needy. Should love to attend church and pray, most definitely. We should be modest and humble. In all that we do. We should witness to others.Be in this world but separate.Be willing to die for Christ, if need be.

We can judge actions, BUT not the person.
We are all different people with different problems in life. Some for honor, some for dishonor.

Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Love your neighbour as yourself. - Jesus

The best answer can be found in Acts 11::26c. The people of Antioch must had noticed something different about these Talmidin [disciples] of The Nazarene recently crucified at Jerusalem! Also, did not Messias called Christ say that "by the love you show one another, the world will know you're My disciples"? Amen? Amen!
---bob6749_[Elishama] on 11/28/06

Yes indeed, I believe in what you just said. Our "All" kept togheter with our Always.
---Nana on 11/18/06

Nana - which is why we must walk in the Spirit, so that we can show the fruit of the Spirit at all times - including testing and trials. Only then will the world see that we are different - only then will they see Jesus in us.

Praises to the Holy Friend! Witnessing may not always be possible using God's Word, but our hand gestures, our poise, our smile, our eyes and even a tear do witness loudly and lastingly. A Good witness; as if it were a seed, will blossom into a forest.

I agree with you Nana. That is the work of the Holy Spirit in a believer. The ability to discern. I find that very helpful when I go to a bible store. I am able to pick up a book and know which one God wants me to read and which I have to put down. When it comes to unbelievers, I know many won't even want to hear. But I can recognize which one's are open already for God's Word. I don't go around looking for people to witness to, with me it just happens where I go.

Hi Lisa,

We believe that Jesus did
many miracles. He also knew the toughts of others
amogst many things. Well, even Peter walked on water.
Remember Jesus saying: "This kind can come forth by
nothing, but by prayer and fasting." Who knows the
extent to which Jesus trained his disciples? I do
believe that we can learn to discern down deeper than
skin deep. Jesus certainly did and he told his disciples
that even greater things than his they could also do.

Thanks for the cross-reference. A common saying
comes to mind: "It takes one to know one" and of course
in a good sense. A man of peace knows a man of peace, etc.
---Nana on 11/15/06

A Christian follows Christ. You know them by their "fruits" the way they act most times. You cant judge on just 1 time we are all at diff. points in the "race" we all have an off day blow it lose our temper etc. Christians are like boxers we are in the fight of our life we may get hit, bloody, winded, knocked down on the mat. But we dont stay on the mat we get up & get ready for round 2. So remember mankind does fall but a Christian repents, gets up & never gives up.

Good morning Nana, I believe that many times the apostles went to people's homes and could know who were worthy by giving them the gospel, and those people didn't want to hear it. They refused to listen, so they were not worthy of God's Word. It is the same when we talk about God in a group and they began to leave. You can tell who is open to hear God's Word and who is not. Maybe its not their time, but for whatever the reason, they just don't want to hear God's word.
---lisa on 11/15/06

2. There is a great book I read when I was saved called, "Experiencing God" it showed how we are to respond to God working in an unbelievers heart. How we should follow God in His work, when someone is already ready to hear the gospel. Just my opinion on this.
---lisa on 11/15/06

Nana - If you cross-reference to Luke 10:1-12, this same event is told in a different way. There it says (in vs 6) - "And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; ..." I understand it to mean that, when they walk in and say "Peace to this house" (vs 5), the peace is received by the inhabitants.
---laure5759 on 11/15/06

Matthew 10:11: And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
Matthew 10:12": And when ye come into an house, salute it.
Matthew 10:13": And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Wonder how they were taught to recognize the "worthy"?

Mrs Morgan - If you read what I said again, you will see that you have misunderstood my meaning. Of course I acknowledge that some are not Christians! But it is still NOT our place to judge!
---laure5759 on 11/14/06

You cannot make a judgement by checking their fruits. It is impossible to know who is saved and who is not. There is many people not saved that show great deeds. It doesn't make them save. There is many persons that are saved and don't show the same as others. Each person has his own relationship with Christ. Only God knows the heart. Judging someone's heart is the job of God. Not us. I see Eloy and others making a claim they can see the heart, but its all false.
---lisa on 11/14/06

laure5759 , I think you have misunderstood Mrs. Rebecca D. Laure, Some are NOT our brother's and sister's in Christ, Jesus said you will know them by THEIR FRUITS(Matthew 7:16,23). God gets no glory when a person is wrongly deemed by someone as being His, yet they are NOT. God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 11/14/06

Rebecca D - God tells us not to judge people at all, because if we judge others, He will judge us accordingly. We must LOVE others, and do all we can to persuade them to follow God. Judging others is to say "He is a thief", but loving someone is to say "Yes, I saw him steal. That is a sin. Let's find out why he did it and encourage him to change." Spot the difference.

We can judge someone righteously. A Christian is a person whom walks, talks, acts, like Christ would/does. the bible says we will know them by the fruit that they bare. If the fruit they bare is rotten, then no they aren't Christians. I know good people that are sinners and that would do almost anything for me, but yet they don't have Christ, and I know people whom claim to be Christians but never lift a finger to help anyone.
---Rebecca_D on 11/13/06

You shall know them by their fruit is what Jesus told us. Are they displaying love, peace, joy, kindness, patience? Etc., Definition of a Christian is one who loves the Lord God with all of their heart, soul and mind and one who's actions reveal that Love, peace, joy, and the rest of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
---Donna9759 on 11/13/06

Mima, there IS no way we can judge a person as to whether or not s/he is a Christian, because this is something we are FORBIDDEN to do.

Matthew 7:1

As far as a definition of a Christian, "The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch." And remember, it was NOT a compliment.
---Jack on 11/13/06

Christians have a unique way in looking at the world everything is either LIGHT or DARK. A Christian loves all and proclaims the gospel. We bear good fruit and humble ourselves in complete submission to the Lord. Christians do not perceive the world in the flesh and do not respond to the world in the flesh. Eternity is our focus, obedience and faith are our vehicles.

Luk 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

Laura gave a good answer as well.

the word Christian means little Christ and by that is meant that we are to be followers of Christ. so if they fellow his teachings then they are a Christian right. what were his teachings. love God and love your neightbour. repent (turn away) from your sin and do what is right.
