Mccain is simply too old to be president, he has so many old ideas that doesn't work anymore

This is the classic example of choosing between the lesser of two evils. As far as I'm concerned, anybody but Hillary. I wouldn't like it, but I could live with Obama. But Hillary Clinton is a bigger threat to America than Al Queda. I do not know ONE person who regularly follows politics that is voting for her. She is attracting a large following among voters who don't know her history.

He is DEFINITELY too old for me. If McCain wins and is elected, there is a high chance that he might die during his term because many men die in their 70's. People talk about how 40 is the new 30, etc. but are we really going to risk that during this critical time in US History? NO. be smart. Vote for someone who is fresh and has a plan that is going to change the USA and ultimately, the world. Either way, there is no way i'm voting republican, not after what Bush has done, no way.

Would you also say that being in a Roman, or other jail, should disqualify anyone from looking after sheep, let alone the Body of Christ?

If so, then we should throw out Paul (and most of the New Testament to boot, since he wrote most of his letters from prison).

A BIG, BIG, mistake.

We need an energized forward looking candidate to defeat the Democrats. John McCain is too old. Mitt is our hope to preserve America from H R Clinton.
---Doug on 2/4/08

Do you believe God chose the president of the USA, or is it possible that somehow they fixed the election? Being in a Communist, or other jail, and surviving (like the Manchurian Candidate) should disqualify anyone from looking after dogs let alone the nation. We are not living in even New Testament Times. We have lots more evil these days.

frances: "Some of my friends have been in detention for months and their brains are badly affected."

You surely don't trust God. The Bible is full of people who went through terrible times, but yet became leaders. Moses went through the desert. Noah went through the flood. Even Christ himself went through persectution and look how He turned out. At these end times, God has everything under control. And If He chose McCain, then how can we dispute God's choise?
---Steveng on 2/3/08

As for being too old, look toward the Bible for old leaders - Moses and Abraham to name two.
---Steveng on 2/3/08

Some of my friends have been in detention for months and their brains are badly affected. This man was in a prison camp for years. Who knows what they did to him there. Have you ever heard of the Manchurian Candidate. Is it not odd that he seems such an ideal 'National Hero'. I would be wary of him (as well as Obama/Clinton liberals.)

He has his right mind, is knowledgable about his field and the issues at hand. Why not? Age can work in his favor. Experience is a great teacher. Other countries respect their elders and their wisdom. Why is this country so backwards? He seems to have a great mind. He is just as qualified as Hillary, Obama and the rest. As long as we have breath in our bodies we can be useful, at something. Sometimes it takes age before we are ready to embark on certain things in our lives.

There are few true conservatives, Romney is one. The myopic religious bigots wont vote for Romney, but if you want a good economy, vote for Romney, if you vote for him you are voting for a CE0 for president. Romney says you know whats best for you and your money.

If you vote for MCCain your voting for an aged center left liberal, tough on terror, but forget border control.

A vote for Hillary is a vote for big goverment socialism. Hillary knows whats best for you and your money.

I'm a Republican, but if Zell Miller were running, I'd vote for him, and he's older.
---Greyrider on 2/1/08

He's not too old to be a wife dumper, skirt chaser, and a liar.

Too many Christians are religous bigots. I'm not Mormon, but Romney has a much better family than McCain and Rudy.

No. I think he's younger than Reagan was when he was elected. We need someone with his kind of experience (particularly military) and the perspective of age.

No, experience is highly undervalued.
---Irma on 2/21/07

I think he was not loyal to his first wife in her time of need. one more money grubbing politician i say.
---Roger on 2/4/07

YES - 72 years old is too old to first run for the presidency. The job requires more stamina of body and mind and thus a younger person.
---Mitchell on 11/23/06

Even this liberal democrat likes John McCain.
He is outspoken, does not cowtow to either party and, with his military background and expeience, has earned my respect.....

Now, would I vote for him? Maybe.. we will see.

How old was Abraham when he was called? How old was Moses? How old was Samuel when he was called? Were they too old? Age is just a number, your frame of mind is more important than your age.
---Donna9759 on 11/16/06

No. He should eat something besides those jelly beans. Too much sugar. I think John McCain looks good for all he's been through.
---R.A. on 11/16/06

no john McCain isn't too old, but I wouldn't think he would be a good choice right now. I think we'll see a better canadate come in. John McCain would be like having Bob Dole run again (he's run too much and really doesn't have a good plan on anything) Anyways John McCain has been a thorn in the side of Republicans, I doubt they'll give him the pass if you know what I mean.
---Jared on 11/15/06

Was Ronald Reagan too old?

My opinion (which may not be worth much) is that two of these three would make the best ticket: John McCain, Joe Liebermann, and Colin Powell.
